Better electric light in our room and would very much have like to meet the owner, but he was away on holiday.

Fabulous. A treat for the senses. Like living in Antiques Roadshow. We had the top suite. Roomy and atmospheric.

An Unforgettable Experience at Maison du Théâtre Saint Bonnet
We had the great pleasure of staying at Maison du Théâtre Saint Bonnet – and it was nothing short of magical.
From the moment we arrived, we were embraced by a truly special atmosphere – warm, personal, and filled with musical soul. The hosts are among the kindest and most welcoming people we've ever met. Franck, the gentleman of the house, is an exceptionally talented and passionate pianist, and a beautiful musical connection quickly formed between him and my wife, who is a former opera singer.
We ended up having a couple of small, intimate concerts together in the home's private theatre – an experience we will never forget. It didn’t feel like just a stay – but like being invited into a living home where art and genuine human connection are allowed to flourish.
Everything – from the room, the breakfast, the surroundings, and most of all the atmosphere – was truly extraordinary. If you love music, authenticity, and heartfelt encounters, this place is something very special. We leave with warm memories and hope to return again soon.
A heartfelt thank you. Natalia og Flemming

Full of surprises from the warm welcome to the swimming pool and mini concert in the theatre (if you are lucky enough!)

Everyone was extremely welcoming. The house was absolutely beautiful. We thoroughly enjoyed our piano recital - it made it very special for us.
The bathroom down the stairs may have been difficult for some people although was fine for us.

I struggle to find a single word: this XIX- early XX century bourjois house is a theatre (no joke, it has a small own theatre), art museum (all walls are covered by splendid oil paintings) and library so it has a wonderful private swimming pool. In short, this is a house of artist. And it is.
Overnight stay was certainly not enough - wish we stayed here longer.

Beginning of August 2022, I stayed with my 12 year old daughter at this hotel, which has only 3 rooms, but a swimming pool. The hotel is actually an old-style house with impressive interior decoration. Nevertheless, you will miss nothing what you also would have in a hotel.
My daughter called the owner ‘The King’, because he gave that impression, and so there was also the queen who served the breakfast. The King is a real artist (music). Artist does not mean, he can play the piano very well. It means he IS the music with his whole body and appearance, fantastic.
In the morning before we left, he played a few pieces – and you should give you the time and not leave in a hurry.
Unfortunately, we could stay only one night. Bourges is also worthwhile a visit of 2 or 3 whole days. The city center has historical buildings and there are nice restaurants. All in walk distance from the Maison.
A stay at this house is an extraordinary experience!

The residence is part of a Theatre and the host and hostess are English speaking. The Host is also a very accomplished pianist. The entire experience was a perfect dream. Wonderful and satisfying French Breakfast in a charming setting by the pool side.
All was perfect...

absolutely superb - the owners were extremely welcoming with lots of tips about Bourges and places to eat. Franck gave us a fabulous solo performance on his piano. We had a swim as well! every little detail had been thought of around the pool and on our bedroom.

Wow, what an experience. Franck made us so welcome when we arrived and gave us a visit to the Theatre along with a private piano concert. The whole hotel was awesome in so many different ways. Great breakfast by the pool and even another mini concert in the Theatre. We will defo be back to this gem in Bourges. thank you 😀

The swimming pool was a real bonus, the room was quirky.
The patron needed the bill to be settled in CASH, not welcome news on arrival after walking from the gare (no taxi's). In the morning we received a phone call (from a telephone handed to us via a cleaner) that we needed to vacate the room by 11 (we still had 20 mins to go), it was both RUDE and unnecessary.

Enormous suite on second floor. The piano was a treat. Many touches of generosity such as provision of slippers and bathrobes. Parking a little tight. Breakfast just right. Difficult finding a table for dinner on a Saturday night without prior reservation. We ate in the small Lebanese restaurant nearby which was interesting with good 2016 wine from the Bekaa Valley.
Rather slippery bath & bathroom floor for those with mobility problem.

This is no normal hotel. The outside looks quite normal: But the house is managed by an Artist-Family, the whole interior of the house looks like this; You get your breakfast served in a small swimming pool, and after the breakfast you get a personal little concert in a small, but extremely charming theatre.
