It was cheap for a reason, but still not worth it.

There was a sea view.

It wasn’t clean, toilet brush was disgusting, shower hadn’t been cleaned, mugs were dirty and we were given a used wooden spoon! It was dark and miserable inside, not very welcoming. The room wasn’t safe, doors leading to the balcony barely shut. The balcony was dirty and had rubbish on. Toilet door had a glass panel in it, so whenever someone used the toilet it lit up the bedroom and woke others. Real bad condensation on bathroom window left puddles in the bathroom. Whoever greeted us when we arrived was not very professional, would not look at or communicate with me, even though I was paying, he kept talking to my husband. Did not show us to the room, just handed over a key. The place itself was extremely noisy throughout the night, we never saw anyone whilst we were there, so no idea where all the noise came from.

Needs an urgent refurb.

The staff were very friendly and the bed was comfortable.

The room was very cold and the duvet wasn't a high enough tog. The windows were single glazed and covered in condensation. Not an issue in the summer but a major problem in the winter when I HAD to visit. I went to bed fully clothed and ended up showering at a relative's house because it was so cold. An extra heater needed in the bathroom. The electrics were worrisome. Spurs off sockets and extension leads from there. There was a dining room with a microwave and fridge running off an extension lead in the stairwell. The wallpaper was starting to peel although that didn't worry me that much and nothing I'd complain about. This hotel needs a major refurb. The upside is that it was cheap.

AVOID, SAFEGUARDING, AGGRESSIVE, FRAUD

NOTHING, AVOID AT ALL COSTS

My client arrived on site at the agreed check in time. However he was left waiting outside in the cold and rain for an hour as the manager was asleep. The manager finally came to the door, half dressed in flip flops and speaking minimal English. He began shouting and sweating at my elderly client and was extremely aggressive asking why he was here. He then demanded ID however at this point my client was shaking with distress. The manager then attempted to lock the front door with my client inside. My client asked him to please not lock the door and received more abuse so my my then left with the manager shouting ID and GO at him. After speaking with my distressed client I rang the hotel who didn’t seemed bothered by it as obviously they have seen this before as you can see from previous reviews online. Instead of dealing with the problem and reprimanding the manager they instead decided to cancel my 3 night stay without a refund despite saying that we could return if we wanted. AVOID AT ALL COSTS!

Hostel or Hotel ?

The bed was comfortable, and the staff were friendly, that is all you can say.

It is lacking facilities and needs a lot of work (one night stay at best). The door to the building that apparently keeps us safe at night with a very fancy security code doesn't work, so anyone can get in right through the night. Our room had a window above the door so we had light from the hall shining in all night. I would consider it more of a nice hostel than a hotel. I am hoping it has recently been taken over, and things are being updated as and when possible. I think it is fair to say that leaving was the most pleasurable part of our stay. It served a purpose but we won't be staying here again.

Cold . Stayed in November only light bedsheet on bed . So cold slept in day clothes. Shared bathroom on my floor was locked . Checked next floor down not clean enough to consider bathing . Cup provided for tea was filthy . General state was very tired and rundown . Would have spoken to address issues next day after checking out but no one there .

I love the value for money of this hotel. I have stayed here many times. And the gentleman even upgraded my room for me free of charged becasue it was after 5:30pm. He was amazing.

It in a great location and amazing views across sea front

When we arrived we were given a room without a bath or shower which it said on booking . Com it was included I thought private bathroom was in the room not at the end of a corridor which shared with other guests , the room was dated and the wall light did not work and the plugs were no where near the shelves so had to boil the kettle on the floor, the toilet in our room you could not shut door properly and when you did shut the door your knees were up against the door the bed also need a new mattress as very lumpy , covers barely fitted over the two of us and again cheap . The bathroom with shower , could not turn the hot water down because was really old and the bathroom with bath and shower , was filthy with bugs running around looked like it hadn’t been cleaned for a while and dated really tiny and shower was leaking in all directions so a very bad stay but lucky we only stayed the 3 nights

Good place for a short stay

The location of the hotel was great- right on the sea front. Easy to find as well, and within a walking disctance of the town centre. The person who greeted us at the hotel had a great sense of humour. The hotel has a vintage charm and it’s a little worn around the edges, but it is just the kind of place I enjoy staying in. The important thing for me is to find the place clean, with plenty of clean towels provided, and that's excatly what I found there. The price I paid for was very resonable, and I was positively surprised with the size of the room.

If I had to find something to moan about, it would be other residents of the hotel, who stayed in the room above us. They decided to argue laudly in the middle of the night, but the situation calmed down quickly.

Basic but cheap.

Ibrahim was a wonderfully helpful staff member who was very keen to help me with my luggage because the lift was broken. The room was basic but serviceable, it had what I needed, and it was cheap. That had been my main criteria for choosing to stay there because I was only staying one night to break my long journey.

Parking was the only real issue. Lift being broken. I'm on crutches but I made it to the second floor unscathed.
