I would recommend the hotel to anyone and we will stay again the next time we are up that way.

Location was near to everything in Mangonui, 4 mins to beach and 5 min walk to shops. Hosts were very welcoming and helpful, a lovely couple.

Lovely quaint historical place to stay. Rooms are a good size and on a cold night - lovely and warm. Best bed I have slept in - so comfortable. Wonderful outlook and short walk to cafe and restaurants. Bonus having "real" milk in the fridge too.

We booked at short notice and it suited us very well.

Welcoming and communicative host. The room and bathroom were impeccably clean. Proximity to the harbour, across the road, and the east facing aspect from where we savoured a glorious Sunday morning sunrise. Location outstanding in terms of proximity to Mangonui Fish Shop, Coopers Beach and other nearby scenic spots, including Cable Bay and Rangiputa.

Perhaps a bathroom heater would be an added benefit.

Had a two night stay but only managed the one

The location was super handy and the building was done really well. After discussions with the establishment it was not doable to stay for the full booking and a refund is being sort for the one night.

The Totara room had no air con and a mildew smell

The Ponga suite with the wrap around balcony and estuary views is breathtaking.

A beautiful historic hotel kept in perfect condition in the most serene location but still just a few moments stroll to a few cute little stores and cafe/restaurants. It makes you feel transported back in time.

Wonderful, relaxing place; wish we could've stayed longer

A beautiful building with an interesting history. Nicely located right on the coastline, and a short, easy 5min walk to the restaurants. Our room had a palatial bathroom and access to a charming patio area. Very nice and knowledgeable owners.

Very easy to hear guests in neighbouring room. And an outdoor light came on and off on the roof and our room had a skylight window in the ceiling and I was awakened again and again from a light coming on and off from above which I had no influence over.

A Wonderful stay at The Old Oak Boutique Hotel

The warm welcome from the Owners Jennifer and Justin - the history of the hotel and the original features - the layout of our little suite of rooms and the balcony overlooking the water, ideal for an early evening drink - the location of the hotel in relation to Mangonui Village - and the picnic our hosts prepared for us for our day exploring Cape Reinga.
