Taipa Beach Resort

location wise just as we wanted, close to the beach and there’s a pool if you feel like not going to the beach. Our room was clean and spacious, it smells nice and fresh when we entered our room. We love the pool area, it feels close to nature with all the greenery surrounding the place. Bonus there was a tesla vehicle charger free for the guests.

We stayed there for 3nights, so it would have been better if the bed/mattress is more comfortable. It must have been two single beds put together but the middle part felt lumpy, hard and uneven to the point where we cannot sleep in the centre if we want to.

The view from our superior beachfront room was amazing. The room was spacious, clean, and comfortable, with aiir conditioning and everything we needed. The long carpeted hallway was a hit with our one-year-old and gave him some good walking practice. We didn’t get to use the pool or spa due to the weather, but we did order room service and really enjoyed the steam pudding and cheesecake. We stayed in the Far North for three nights and only booked here for our last night, we honestly wished we’d stayed here the whole time. The self-service laundry was also very handy after the rainy weather. Added bonus was how helpful and friendly the reception team was, appreciated it.

Moved to another room after realising that I probably slept in a dirty bed. 😫 I didn't realise it at first because the bed had been made, but the next day I looked in the drawer by the bed and there was a condom in there which is unusual as I'd usually find a Bible instead.

2x hoha flies, the condom, the rubbish bag had someone else's recycling in it, a bug in the smaller towel that held the soap etc, and the blanket inside the drawer look like it hadn't been washed and was used by the last person before me.

Great location opposite beach and Tesla charger. Gardens nice.

Carpet in main lounge area was very stained and felt dirty to walk on. Differently in need of a new sofa to sit on.

The staff were helpful and kind, and the location being set close to the beach was nice. Good location to get to the nearest shops if you needed anything.

I believe charging us $851 for two nights for a room that was extremely filthy, and very misled by the pictures advertised is absolute daylight robbery. This being the most expensive accommodation we have ever stayed in, we believed we would be arriving to a “RESORT” as stated. I also checked the pricing again on Booking.com to see that the 2 bedroom apartment with more room, better facilities and a private spa was being charged less than ours per night for the 1 bedroom unit we had!? The room itself was so filthy everywhere you looked, it smelt like someone had vomited and they barely made an effort to clean it up, the carpet everywhere was completely covered in stains, the bathroom was disgusting unclean with the shower barely working - the shower head was spraying in different directions you had to catch the water to get covered properly and that’s if you didn’t keep slipping on the uneven shower floor. I had to hold onto something to ensure I didn’t fall over while washing myself, that’s an accident waiting to happen. The drain and the shower itself was just gross. Don’t know the last time it’s had a deep clean? You could see a build up of fingerprints/dirt all over the kitchen, so good indication that wasn’t at least wiped down!? I bought food, but decided not to cook. There were marks and damage all over the walls, dusty - especially on appliances. The couch and cushions need a good wash and wasn’t very comfortable - we just honestly felt dirty the whole time we were there. The place itself needs a proper clean, some renovation and upgrade if you’re changing prices like that, for reference- we stay in 5star hotels such as the Pullman Hotel in Auckland and Millennium Hotel in Queenstown for much less, and was at least at a standard to meet that price. Absolutely disappointed, would appreciate a refund if I’m honest.

The location was stunning ✨️ We were very impressed with the room and having the view of the beach while relaxing on the bed is always amazing while on holiday! The staff were very friendly and the food at the restaurant was delicious. We were sad to leave and hope to come back one day. Truly an incredible spot in the far north of New Zealand with a quiet beautiful beach just steps from your room. Very close to other beautiful beaches and restaurants, the Village Creamery in Mangonui (less than 15 mins away) does incredible milkshakes and have great ice cream. This resort is also perfect if you want to do a day trip to Cape Reigna or the Giant Sand Dunes, we did multiple day trips and were so happy to come back to a clean and comfy room. This stay exceeded my expectations and helped make it a holiday worth remembering. ✨️ if you get a beachfront room, keep your eyes peeled as when we were leaving there were Orcas in the bay!

Overall, a great experience. As a minor suggestion, a deep clean of the upholstered furniture and carpets would help elevate the presentation of the room.

Spa is grotty and very old. Doesn't look clean. Shower head blew off when taking a shower. Tap was loose when doing the dishes.

Generally nice.

However one gets a feeling that not one person of the staff is particularly invested in making the place a success. everybody is supremely nice and polite, of course, this is NZ after all, but generally there's a general air of "it is what it is, sucks if the guest doesn't like it, but so it goes"

beach front resort, nice to have dinner watching the sunset. Rooms were generous and comfortable, it also had EV charging which was a huge bonus. it was quiet when we were there so not many staff running the resturant so there was a wait for service but otherwise a good location and a nice stay.

Lost opportunity with not having the cafe open during the week, especially in the school holidays. Sofa bed needs desperate replacing, old and worn badly. Could not sit on it at all

We couldn't get some of the appliances working. Heatpump was reset but the stovetop and TV were not addressed.

We had a room were there was spots of mold on the roof as if it doesn’t get attended to besides that overall a good stay

Clean and spacious room with a beautiful sea view 💜 My bed was like sleeping on clouds and the shower pressure is amazing. I didn’t get to enjoy the pool or spa but family said they were excellent. There were 11 in our group and we all agree that we'd love to come back in the summer.

Location suited my needs.

Major maintenance needed, toilet kept self flushing all night, kitchen tap nearly fell off. The killer was being sold $42 Scotch Fillet that was actually a rubbery Sirlion, on chips and a basic salad. So fraudulent behaviour and not at all good value.

Spacious room, comfortable bed and great location. Staff opened the joining door to my kids room as well which was a bonus. Had the best shower too.

Carpark was so far away and having to walk all the way up the hallway to leave and return.
