Sadly this hotel has gone down hill since I stayed in Sept and gave it a glowing review.
the breakfast is now heated up pre cooked food not individually cooked although they are still charging the same.

This is a beautiful hotel. Our suite was stunning, with a very comfortable bed and fantastic wet room.
All the staff were friendly and helpful.
We will definitely be staying here when we come to Exeter in the future.
Nothing not to like.

The breakfast was good and the location was within a 5-10 minutes walk to the town centre.
Would definitely stay here again.
The bathroom skirting board could do with a lick of paint.

Location was superb. I was a quiet night. Free parking available. Staff were very helpful and friendly. comfortable bed and coffee and tea available with a kettle. toilet and bath were very good. lift available.
overall cleanliness was not great. The room was not cleaned after the previous stay. stay was only one night. not that much value for the money.

Dirty dated rooms

Generally the room was ok but it could be so much better with a refresh and reduction in the number of pictures on the walls - at least 15 in my room - too much.
Proximity to town centre was excellent. Good size bathroom and bed quite comfortable too.
Although the room and bathroom looked generally clean, due to the dark walls and carpet in the bedroom, it was very difficult to really check; normally I would but I was only in Exeter overnight and didn't want to waste time.

Great location near train station. Good self serve breakfast with nice staff on hand to help with coffee/toast etc
Nothing to dislike… it doesn’t have the facilities of a 5 star hotel… but it also doesn’t have the price tag. Great value for money. If you like a shower cap etc take your own they don’t have the in the room

Very close to city centre..easy walk. Very friendly and attentive service..made to feel very welcome…nothing was too much trouble. Truly excellent breakfast!
Despite a radiator the bathroom was very cold and cavernous…not particularly comfortable and although the room was very clean generally..getting the dust out of the radiator would be recommended.

The hotel was small but well managed, with traditional décor that I really liked. The breakfast was great—there wasn’t a large selection, but it was more than adequate and delicious. The staff member,Alfie ,was very enthusiastic, welcoming, and truly service-minded. The location is between the David’s train station, beware of the uphill if you have large luggage, and the city center which is convenient.
The downside was that the room felt a bit limited in space and wasn’t soundproof.

Wonderful breakfast and interestingly quirky rooms in a great location for the center of Exeter or the uni.

The location was excellent, the Breakfast was superb, the staff were very friendly and helpful. The Hotel itself had a nice classic Manor look about it and the bed was very comfortable.
The walls were not very soundproof so it was too easy to hear people in the corridor outside, the windows are single glazed so it can get very cold easily, especially the bathroom, there needs to be a better blind that covers the window in colder seasons. Also the hot tap on the bath needs to be hotter, the shower was hotter than the bath for some reason.

The receptionist was very helpful and allowed early check-in
Room was so small. Wasn't a double bed. Was only one set of towels for 2 people. . Looked like single room for two

This is probably one of the best boutique hotels in Exeter and it’s our go to place to stay whilst here, I’m glad they now have hanging space in the rooms and all the rooms are sooo cute
Unfortunately this amazing little hotel has gone to “buffet” style breakfast oh how I missed my Eggs Benedict this time round, the food although tasty was unfortunately cold as were the plates this is a huge shame as my previous visit the breakfast was served on hot plates from the kitchen and the food was yummy I personally believe this is an oversight on behalf of the management

Have a walk in shower instead of a bath

Very clean room, good location, helpful staff.
Bit noisy with water filling noises in bathroom in the night, bed is small if you are taller as think it was a queen bed? towels are small bath sheet would be handy.

Location is fantastic, Breakfast was amazing and only thing I would say is our room (101) could have done with less furniture and being moved around so there is a dressing table next to the window as no plug sockets anywhere near the mirror for my wife to be able to do her hair or make up and no socket in the bathroom. Literally a little tweak with the furniture would make this room perfect as it was perfect other than that, as was the Hotel itself.
Nothing. Everything was as expected or better.

The staff were very friendly and accommodating, the room was very spacious, but had been warmed well. The bathroom/shower facilities were really nice, and breakfast was delicious.
Nothing!

A LOT of character - uniquely decorated and very charming in its quirkiness. Very good breakfast selection and comfortable room. Location is superb - right in the centre of Exeter but also peaceful.
A little tired in places - bathroom needed some decorative maintenance and the extractor was ineffective, leading to mould on the sealant etc.

The property was clean and tidy and had fantastic decor.
The decor was wacky Victorian style which made us smile.

Good location. Friendly staff.
Apparently I had an upgrade but was in a room in the basement which had windows (with fogged glass) but they looked into a tiny space full of vents and air conditioning units which were noisy and meant you couldn’t open the window. No aircon so the room was noisy and very hot. Felt like a downgrade.

Staff were very friendly, the place felt very homely
Didn't have double glazing so you can hear a bit of street noise

The staff were very friendly and helpful- we were originally booked into a small room on the third floor which had low beams we were offered a change of room if it was a problem as the lift only goes to the second floor- it would have been ok but we felt my husband was probably going to bang his head - so we asked if we could please be moved. We were given a beautiful spacious room on the ground floor.
The breakfast was great with a really good selection of cereals nuts fruit pastries etc and freshly cooked traditional breakfast items too.
It is in a very convenient spot and although it sounded like parking might be a problem it really wasn’t

I wasn't expecting what felt like a boutique hotel, close to city centre for the money I paid. What a find! My room was a decent size, beautifully appointed and decorated, with antique furniture and tasteful art (see photos). The bathroom (which actually had a bath) was spacious and luxurious. I felt unexpectedly pampered and would recommend this a great option for visitors to Exeter (a charming city in itself).

Independent hotel, plenty of character. Great management and staff who are friendly and went the extra mile for us. Well situated.
An old property with all the challenges of age.

We greatly enjoyed our stay at the Queen's Court. The staff were very friendly and helpful; the locations is great - quiet but a quick walk into the centre; there was ample parking (we used the lot across the road, but there were also residents' permits on offer); and we greatly appreciated the eclectic mix of antique furniture, china, and prints in our room that made it feel as if one were staying in a nice country house. And a special word of thanks for the breakfast - one of the best ever in a UK hotel . Think a combination of German breakfast buffet and full English: loads of options - whether you wanted yoghurt with fruit, pastries, cereal (including gluten free), sausage (meat or veg), eggs, mushrooms, tomatoes, etc, it was all there, and everything we tried was extremely tasty. A lovely start to the day.
The shower was in a high tub that could be challenging for people to get into/out of.
