A perfect stay with amazing hosts, spotless rooms, and the ideal location in Newquay

Our stay at Gecko’s Rest was absolutely perfect. Amy and John were so welcoming and went above and beyond to accommodate all our needs, especially at breakfast. I’m gluten free, and every option was suitable for me, which made mornings stress-free and enjoyable. The rooms were spotless, comfortable, and had everything we could possibly need. The location couldn’t be better, just a 3 minute walk into the main town and only 5 minutes to the beach, making it the ideal base for exploring Newquay. They had parking at the front and the rear, and we didn’t struggle for a space once. We couldn’t have asked for a better stay and would highly recommend Gecko’s Rest to anyone visiting.

It is a great place with nice rooms and good breakfast and polite staff.

The rooms, location and breakfast was great.

A bit too strict on visitors and the check-in and breakfast times were quite tight for someone who is on vacation. Also, the backside parking was too tight.

Brilliant it was worth every penny

Everything…we were warmly welcomed by Amy and John, we arrived earlier than expected our host made our room available before booking in time . The double room was very clean and comfortable with a lovely view. Breakfast was freshly cooked with plenty of choice. Good parking font and back of Geckos B&B

Brilliant B&B. Highly recommended.

The room was lovely - clean and well-equipped. The bathroom was excellent, including a great shower. Bed was very comfortable. Parking available. Tea and coffee making facilities in the room were excellent, with fresh milk available to collect from a fridge downstairs. Great location too. Everything was a fairly short walk.

Our room was lovely and very clean, bed was super comfy and we loved that the bathroom was modern. John and Amy were both great and very helpful. Breakfast every morning was delicious with a good selection to choose from. Location was pretty perfect as it was just a short walk to the town and beaches. Would 100% stay there again and recommend others to do so too.

Nice cosy B&B to stay in Newquay

Nice clean and cosy room. Staff very friendly and helpful.

Check-in is available until 6pm, which felt a bit early for a Friday evening. However, Amy and John were very accommodating and checked us in at 8:15pm.

Amy and John are wonderful hosts. Lots of choices for the included breakfast and the food was excellent. Property is tastefully renovated and really well maintained. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay.

The climb to the top floor is a bit of a chore for seniors, but manageable.

The property is in an ideal location with great parking. The rooms are clean, pillows on bed were really comfortable. The hosts Amy and John couldn’t do enough for us. Breakfast was excellent. Lots of little touches which make the stay really lovely.

A very pleasurable experience & I should be booking again for next year, if not later again this year.

Everything was excellent, although I never met Amy, John was very attentive to detail, making sure anything I requested for breakfast was was also attended to. From the 32” flat screen smart TV, to the on suite bathroom, with the Mira power shower, I cannot fault anything about this property.

So if I could fault it for anything, I would have to admit it doesn’t have a pool, or spa, yet I didn’t book for that, so there’s really nothing I could say against it.

The hosts Amy and John were very friendly and welcoming upon arrival. There's free parking on site, which you'll need to reserve your space ahead of your stay. The hotel is in an excellent location. 5 mins from town and 10 mins to the nearest beach. It's around 20 min to Fistulal Beach. The breakfast was exceptional and John was very attentive.

Extremely pleasant, clean, comfortable and very friendly B&B well placed in Newquay.

From the friendly welcome from John and Amy through to the well presented and very clean and confirmable room to the excellent full English Breakfast, there was nothing to complain about during our stay. Even at the end John kindly allowed us to leave our car on the site for a few hours while we grabbed some last minute beach time. A thoroughly great few days, and we're very happy to recommend Geckos Rest.

There was nothing not to like. If I was really pressed the toilet/shower was slightly small, but that was indicated in the information prior to booking. No, really, nothing was not to like.

Lovely B&B!

Lovely B&B! There are absolutely incredible views of the sea from the hotel’s windows. Perfect location, it’s very close to the sea, city centre and some of the attractions of Newquay. Breakfast was absolutely delicious, great variety of food for you to chose, always fresh and tasty. Very nice hosts, it’s always pleasant to have a chat with them. Rooms are always clean and you can find everything you need in there, there also is a very cosy atmosphere. Lounge is so cool, perfect common area to sit with your drink, play games, watch something or even read a book. If you run out of your snacks or milk and coffee from the room, you always can purchase some snacks and take coffee and fresh milk for free. 10/10!
