Really easy ro walk from Truro train station. Nice location, lovely views from the bar area. Really clean, staff very friendly and helpful. Had evening meal and breakfast which were both excellent, breakfast was included, there was a selection of cold items, cereal ect and the choice of anything from a menu, I had smoked salmon and scrambled eggs which was very good. Will be staying again.

A most comfortable short stay

Spacious, modern and spotlessly clean Double Room. Large and extremely comfortable bed, all mod cons with coffee making machine and tea and coffee making facilities as well as top quality Cornish biscuits to accompany hot drinks. A top quality TV also. First class stay, thank you

Learnt never to return.

Room was not heated before arrival on a freezing day [snow on ground outside]. Receptionist offered small heater . . . room remained cold for 3hrs. Bath plug removed. Towel rail cold. Breakfast room cold. Staff using feather duster above breakfast open food and around us. Overpowering smell of bleach emitting from toilets.

December Stay in Truro

The room was spacious and well equipped, the bed was comfortable and the breakfast was very good. All the staff were welcoming and helpful, thank you to the lovely ladies on reception who helped me during my stay.

The room was excellent with great facilities and a wonderful view. The staff were extremely helpful. We had food both at breakfast and the evening meal which were all superb.

Nothing it met all of our expectations and we will be booking again on our next visit to Cornwall.

What would have been a great experience, was spoilt by a poor attitude by the receptionist

Room was spacious because it was a disabled room. It was clean but there was some residual noise from the floor above. It felt secured with the electronic card. The restaurant was great also.

I was disappointed with the attitude of the reception staff when I asked for a cloth to cover the ironing board. As a business traveller, I sometimes need to iron my shirts, and I felt this was a reasonable request. I was told this would be “a waste” because the cloth would need to be laundered after being used, which came across as unhelpful and dismissive. This is not the right attitude for a hotel and it conveys the wrong message about how guest needs are prioritised.

This was my 4th stay here as it is a perfect home from home when working in Cornwall.

Food is delicious and in a friendly atmosphere. Service is quick.settling by room number easy. Great breakfast selection. Rooms are quiet, the bath and shower are great. Nice views.

A quiet, clean place. Staff were very helpful, particularly regarding my partner's medication which needed to be stored in a freezer. Also provided us with a local map.Handy for public transport into Truro.

Maybe a bit more choice for continental breakfast. Otherwise nothing really comes to mind.

Good location, friendly staff, delicious breakfast but the room wasn’t pleasant.

The cooked breakfast was made with excellent quality produce and cooked exactly to specific instructions ie crispy bacon. Nice biscuits, range of teas and coffee pods in room.

The room was tired. The shower curtain was stained the grouting dirty, the bathroom fan wouldn’t switch off unless you took the key card out or manually flicked the switch high on the wall. There was an unpleasant smell when lying in bed.

Sleeping with the bedroom window open, next to a busy road which was noisy. Breakfast staff were focused on clearing away and we felt a bit awkward even though it was only 09:45am and breakfast was supposed to finish at 11:00am.

I’m back from an overnight stay at the County Arms and I couldn't be happier with my experience. Checking in was a breeze; the staff were welcoming and efficient, making the process quick and straightforward. The parking situation was also impressive, with plenty of spaces available, which made arriving and departing hassle-free. As for the twin room itself, it was a delightful surprise. Clean and spacious, it had a lovely ambiance that made me feel right at home. The decor was tasteful, and the room had all the amenities I needed for a comfortable stay. I especially appreciated the locally sourced toiletries and biscuits, which added a nice touch of authenticity and care. Overall, it was a fantastic experience that I would recommend to anyone looking for a cozy spot to unwind.
