Excellent place to stay with great service.

The room was excellent with great facilities and a wonderful view. The staff were extremely helpful. We had food both at breakfast and the evening meal which were all superb.

What would have been a great experience, was spoilt by a poor attitude by the receptionist

Room was spacious because it was a disabled room. It was clean but there was some residual noise from the floor above. It felt secured with the electronic card. The restaurant was great also.

I was disappointed with the attitude of the reception staff when I asked for a cloth to cover the ironing board. As a business traveller, I sometimes need to iron my shirts, and I felt this was a reasonable request. I was told this would be “a waste” because the cloth would need to be laundered after being used, which came across as unhelpful and dismissive. This is not the right attitude for a hotel and it conveys the wrong message about how guest needs are prioritised.

This was my 4th stay here as it is a perfect home from home when working in Cornwall.

Food is delicious and in a friendly atmosphere. Service is quick.settling by room number easy. Great breakfast selection. Rooms are quiet, the bath and shower are great. Nice views.

Nothing for rhe price paid i think it over delivers compared to a travel hotel.

Very happy. It proved to be a good choice.

A quiet, clean place. Staff were very helpful, particularly regarding my partner's medication which needed to be stored in a freezer. Also provided us with a local map.Handy for public transport into Truro.

Maybe a bit more choice for continental breakfast. Otherwise nothing really comes to mind.

Good location, friendly staff, delicious breakfast but the room wasn’t pleasant.

The cooked breakfast was made with excellent quality produce and cooked exactly to specific instructions ie crispy bacon. Nice biscuits, range of teas and coffee pods in room.

The room was tired. The shower curtain was stained the grouting dirty, the bathroom fan wouldn’t switch off unless you took the key card out or manually flicked the switch high on the wall. There was an unpleasant smell when lying in bed.

Just needed somewhere basic and functional as a base whilst visiting places Cornwall and friends

Some staff were very friendly others didn’t acknowledge you at all (I know they are busy but it stood out because 2 staff members in particular on reception were very friendly and attentive)

Sleeping with the bedroom window open, next to a busy road which was noisy. Breakfast staff were focused on clearing away and we felt a bit awkward even though it was only 09:45am and breakfast was supposed to finish at 11:00am.

Brilliant!

I’m back from an overnight stay at the County Arms and I couldn't be happier with my experience. Checking in was a breeze; the staff were welcoming and efficient, making the process quick and straightforward. The parking situation was also impressive, with plenty of spaces available, which made arriving and departing hassle-free. As for the twin room itself, it was a delightful surprise. Clean and spacious, it had a lovely ambiance that made me feel right at home. The decor was tasteful, and the room had all the amenities I needed for a comfortable stay. I especially appreciated the locally sourced toiletries and biscuits, which added a nice touch of authenticity and care. Overall, it was a fantastic experience that I would recommend to anyone looking for a cozy spot to unwind.

Very comfortable, warm welcome and great location.

Lovely welcome from the receptionist and really helpful suggestions. Bed was sooo comfy and there was a lovely balcony window so we could make the most of the warm evening breeze and beautiful views across the fields. Quality coffee machine, bottle of drinking water, kettle and choice of tea bags were all available. The room was spotlessly clean and the towels were big and soft, just how I like them. Lots of toiletries, shampoo, conditioner, body wash, hand soap and body lotion.

The shower is bit dated - the spray was a bit wild and not very powerful. The shower was clean but the grouting is quite discoloured and the drain cover kept coming off. The room smelt a bit musty - not too overpowering but it was a bit stale. But to be fair, I would rather that than an overpowering fake air freshener smell! And this is a very personal thing, but I didn’t like the smell of the toiletries - they were lovely and plentiful but the scent was not to my taste.

A few electrical defects: one bedside light switch was missing (!) - when reported it was said to be on order (so a known problem not declared when checking in); a standard wall light switch was defectively temperamental; the electric towel rail was not working.

The hotel was conveniently located with ample parking. The staff were very friendly and helpful.

We had a beautiful view of the countryside and the room was very spacious.

The beds were too soft for our comfort and we seemed to be near a utility space with a noisy outlet (even during the night). It was our preference to sleep with the balcony door open for fresh air so perhaps this is not noticeable when the door is closed.

Room was spacious, clean, and cool. Staff are all accommodating and very helpful especially when the hair dryer in the room was not working, they immediately replaced it for a new one. Coffee, tea, water, and biscuits also provided in the room plus a Nespresso machine. Also they provide free parking so that is a major plus. Kudos to all the members of the team! Special mention to Fiona, for maintaining our room very well 😊
