Decent 3* hotel close to the ski-lifts and night life, friendly and helpful staff, nice sauna/spa

Very warm, welcoming and professional staff. Maria helped me check-in before arrival, and arranged for a 'Guest Mobility Ticket' QR code that made it possible to travel to and from Salzburg airport for free. Town centre is 5 mins walk, with a wide range of apres-ski and nightlife. Good sauna and steam room in basement. Warm ski storage room that ensured boots were dry each morning. Possible to ski down to back of hotel, though you have to walk 5 mins in the morning to the ski-lift. Nice bar with friendly barman Vassilious. Reliable and fast wi-fi included

Single room was very small, but adequate for just sleeping. Breakfast was a bit basic. But I guess that is what you might expect for a 3 star hotel

The staff made this ski holiday memorable, Joseph the Barman and Maria in the restaurant couldn’t do enough for us, but

You can literally ski to the door - great for tired legs! The hotel was clean and well located. There was a separate bar area which was a nice comfortable relaxation area, also a sauna and steam downstairs next to the boot room. The food was surprisingly good

Great location, very small buffet offer, absolutely no hospitality

Location

* The team has absolutely no idea of hospitality * buffet set up for breakfast is ok, dinner buffet is questionable * dinner buffet offers 1 pasta, 1 meat, 1 fish dish with 2 side dishes, 1 dessert and 3 salads * refill of buffet needs to be asked for * not enough cutlery, plates, glasses and napkins * guest bathroom not cleaned properly * no maintenance in the guestroom with broken window, damaged door * hotel doesn't have any Austrian charm and the comfortable environment associated with it * all team members only speak English, but even then don't interact with guests and managed not to wish a happy New year * no interaction or any conversation so easily to be had during this time of the year * beverage orders possible once during dinner, nobody asked for any other drinks or if everything is all right * a disgrace for a 3 star hotel

A Decent Hotel with Friendly Staff and Worth the Saving Compared to the Alternatives.

Overall, the hotel is decent value for money. The rooms were a good size and comfortable. The food was very good. The staff were friendly and polite. It was a short walk to the nearest button ski lift and then another short walk to a main gondola lift (Kholmais Bhan). 7 minutes walk to the centre of the village and all the bars and restaurants.

Although spacious, the rooms were poorly decorated. Although tasty, the food was not very well presented. The bar was tiny. Reception was a mess. The water broke during our stay and brown rusty water come out of the taps and we couldn't have a shower after a long day on the slopes. The fire alarm went off at 7am one morning due to an issue in the sauna. But, these last 2 things were bad luck, I guess.

It gets the job done but nothing special.

Summer vacation: Location is nice and is nearby almost everything in Saalbach. The "superior double room" was spacious and more than enough for a couple. The manager/receptionist (George) tries to be helpful whenever he can. Free parking spot.

Summer vacation: The hotel itself hasn't been renovated for quite a long time or at all. The furniture is really old (wardrobe, night stands etc) and the sofas haven't been properly cleaned for a long time. The so called lobby bar never works and it's not possible to get a beverage/coffee etc. No ice cubes for cold drinks during hot summer days. The breakfast is the bare minimum. Absolutely no variety at all.

The staff is very friendly and always helpful. The Joker card offered by the hotel for free is extremely useful, it saves you from additional costs. The free parking offered by the hotel is also very important and useful.

Excellent experience.

We spent a wonderful week at this hotel during our ski trip to Saalbach, and it truly exceeded our expectations. From the moment we arrived, the staff made us feel incredibly welcome – they were outstanding, always helpful, and genuinely cared about making our stay perfect. We chose the half-board option, and it turned out to be the best decision. Every meal was delicious, with a great variety and attention to detail that made every dinner feel special. After a long day on the slopes, it was such a pleasure to come back and enjoy such excellent food and warm service. Special thanks to everyone at the hotel for making our holiday so memorable. We can’t wait to come back!

Parking isn't included and the offered solution in the central town parking is quite expensive (19 EUR/day). The hotel is spotlessly clean, but the interior and and not least exterior could do with some renovating.

Extremely friendly staff; nice and comfortable sauna and steam room; very soft mattresses. The highlight was definitely the food - they have an excellent chef who put lots of thought into the dishes, combinations to accommodate a wide variety of tastes.

General maintenance issues: loud rattling fan in our bathroom, door handle to sauna was broken and repaired, broken again, repaired with a zip tie… Also, parking was pricey and far from the hotel - not easy to just „pop out to the car to get something“. Finally: the bar had the potential to be very classy, but wasn’t really nice since it was stuffed with so many chairs and love seats you could hardly turn around in there.

Enjoyable experience with many memories.

The staff here was really quite friendly and helpful. Breakfast is "typical", but also very enjoyable and of sufficient quality. The abilty to walk anywhere in town easily was a real blessing and getting started in the morning didn't require us to do anything more than walk out the front door as the main lift is really just a few hundred meters away. The mountain region is lovely and being able to us the lifts for our cycling trip was a highlight.

The town of Saalbach seems to have a problem with good restaurants. There are plenty of impressive facades as one walks though the lovely inner-town pedestrian zone, but for us none delivered anything better than a sub-standard experience. The owners seem to know this, and not care. A captive audience of consumers that are rotated amongst the available tables in the over-priced restaurant locations.

Really friendly and helpful staff, food was very good location is good only 250m from lifts, rooms were a good size for a ski trip. Value for money is excellent at the Konig and the staff are really nice people. I would not hesitate to stay here again.
