Location of the hotel is just excellent - in front of the ski/bike lift. A biker's paradise. Friendly and helpful staff - it is a family run hotel. Hotel is not big, therefore very cosy, with personal attention. Half-board is highly recommended - the 5 course dinners are just excellent (vegetarial options available). Breakfast is great with lots of organic selections. Great terrace overlooking a valley and mountains. Spacious clean rooms with comfy beds.

Street facing room might be a little bit noisy, but in general it is a calm town, so no worries.

Enjoyable stay.

Location could not be better and food was very good at this hotel. Better than most other 4 star hotels.

Receptions could be more detailed. We booked a taxi to Zell and gave the address - receptions didn't however give any address to the driver and there was some confusion when we got to Zell.

The Hotel Kohlmais was the PERFECT hotel in every way. From the brilliant owners and staff, delicious top end food, really great wellness facilities, spotlessly clean everywhere, fabulous rooms to the spot on location for the gondola and centre of town. We had such a great time and are already planning to come back the same time next year. .

Amazing holiday in a great hotel!

This is excellent, new hotel, in a good location, near the ski slopes and the lifts. Everything in the hotel is modern, well equipped. The staff is so nice. We had an apartment with the terrace, wow, what a view! Tasty cuisine, rich breakfast with various arts of food, the dinners are great as well. The restaurant is glazed with a great view on the hills. They accept the dogs, which is a big plus! If there wold be a possibility, I would give 11 points in total (unfortunately 10 is maximum😉)

Moderne Einrichtung. Das perfekte Abendessen. Halbpension definitiv zu empfehlen. Super Lage und sehr freundliche Mitarbeiter.

Es gibt fast gar nichts zu bemängeln. Wenn dann wären es im Welnessbereich, dass es dort zu wenig Liegemöglichkeiten gab für die Gäste und eventuell Filzgleiter für die Stühle im Zimmer nutzen.

Klare Empfehlung

Ein tolles, familiäres Hotel mit super leckerem Abendessen und klasse Service. Die Lage war perfekt zum Wandern, da die Bergbahn direkt gegenüber liegt. Das Zimmer war schön und sauber, nur etwas mehr Stauraum wäre nicht schlecht gewesen. Den Wellnessbereich drinnen haben wir aufgrund der Sommerhitze nicht genutzt, dafür aber den schönen Pool mit toller Aussicht. Der Bereich mit den Liegen ist recht klein, meistens hat man aber einen Platz gefunden und wir hatten sicher auch eine der wenigen Wochen im Jahr erwischt, in denen es jeden Tag 25-30 Grad hatte und der Pool dementsprechend beliebt war :) Das Essen war jeden Abend außergewöhnlich gut und auch der BBQ Abend mit Weinprobe hat uns sehr gut gefallen.

Beim Frühstücksbuffet hätten wir uns über etwas Abwechslung bei den Aufstrichen gefreut, ebenso wie abends beim Salatbuffet, was wir in ähnlichen Hotels schon vielfältiger erlebt haben. Hier wirkte es im Vergleich zum wirklich erstklassigen Menü etwas trostlos. Man wird aber zum Glück auch ohne Salat satt ;)

Herrlicher Ausgangspunkt für schöne Wanderungen

Als begeisterte Wanderer haben wir schon viele Hotels in den Bergen besucht, aber dieses hier übertrifft alles. Es ist der perfekte Ort, um nach einem langen Tag in der Natur wieder zur Ruhe zu kommen und neue Kraft zu tanken. Schon bei der Ankunft wurden wir herzlich empfangen und fühlten uns sofort willkommen. Das Personal ist unglaublich aufmerksam und hilfsbereit. Die Zimmer sind nicht nur makellos sauber, sondern auch mit viel Liebe zum Detail eingerichtet. Nach einer anstrengenden Wanderung gibt es nichts Besseres, als sich in das bequeme Bett zu fallen. Das absolute Highlight ist aber der Wellnessbereich. Der Pool und die Sauna sind genau das Richtige, um müde Muskeln zu entspannen, und der Panoramablick auf die umliegenden Gipfel ist einfach atemberaubend. Besonders hervorzuheben ist die kulinarische Leistung. Das Frühstücksbuffet bietet alles, was das Wanderherz begehrt: von frischem Obst über regionale Wurst- und Käsespezialitäten. Die Menüs am Abend waren ebenfalls ein Traum. Man merkt, dass hier mit Leidenschaft gekocht wird und Wert auf frische, lokale Produkte gelegt wird. Kurzum, das Kohlmais ist mehr als nur eine Unterkunft – es ist ein Zuhause in den Bergen. Es ist der ideale Ort für alle, die die Natur lieben und einen Urlaub suchen, in dem Entspannung und Aktivität perfekt ineinandergreifen. Wir kommen definitiv wieder!

Traumtage in Traumlage

Wir hatten eine tolle Zeit in einem wunderschönen Hotel mit toller Lage. Das Abendessen ist überragend, auch das Frühstück ist sensationell. Das Team ist familiär und freundlich. Alles ist sehr sauber, modern eingerichtet und die Größe des Hotels sowie die Lage sorgen dafür, dass man einen ruhigen und ungestörten Aufenthalt hat. Wir haben lang überlegt, was man bemängeln könnte. Uns fällt nichts ein. Danke für eine tolle Woche.

Sehr freundlicher Empfang, schönes großes Zimmer, ausgezeichnetes Frühstück und Abendessen. Wellnessbereich: Sauna, vom Pool traumhafter Ausblick und die Möglichkeit, den Cocktail im Wasser zu genießen...

Es hätte nicht besser sein können! Auch dass es nicht im touristischen Zentrum oder an der stark befahrenen Straße liegt, waren wir sehr froh!!!

Familiengeführtes Hotel mit charmanten Flair im Zentrum von Saalbach

Super freundlicher Empfang und auch während dem Aufenthalt waren alle super nett und hilfsbereit. Das Hotel ist sehr geschmack- und liebevoll eingerichtet. Es liegt direkt im Zentrum gegenüber der Kohlmaisbahn und durch die Joker Card können fast alle Attraktionen gratis genutzt werden. Bikepark und Sportgeschäft ist auch gleich in der Nähe also wird Vorort eigentlich kein Auto benötigt. Essen am Abend und auch das Frühstück sind TOP. Der Wellenbereich ist nicht der größte aber super ausgestattet und für die Größe des Hotels, meiner Meinung nach ausreichend und sehr gepflegt. Die Aussicht vom Restaurant durch die großen Panorama - Glasscheiben ist beeindruckend. Wir kommen auf alle Fälle wieder.

Für den Parkplatz in der öffentlichen Tiefgarage sind gebühren fällig, aber das ist halt so.

In den Saunabereich sind andere Gäste nicht textilfrei gegangen. Hier könnte es bessere Hinweise geben, wie sich in einer Sauna verhalten werden soll. Die Schiebetür der Küche war im Zimmer zu hören und das schon ab 6:30 Uhr frühs und abends bis 22:00 Uhr.
