Lovely and comforting stay

This was a lovely little place-well lived and looked after. The kitchen and dining room facilities are outstanding. I parked in the Castle Mews car park and walked about 10 mins around to the accommodation.

Room was a little on the small side for the 3 of us. And no parking for cars.

Clean Room and Bathrooms, Great for Introverts, Convenient Location, Communicative Hosts

This was the perfect place to stay for my quick 3 day solo trip to Cardiff. The room and bathrooms were clean and I greatly appreciated how quiet the stay was. It was perfect for an introverted traveler like myself as I didn't run into any other guests and the self check in and check out was very easy. The hosts were also very communicative and the location was very convenient for getting the bus and being close to the train station and the city center.

If you're looking for a bustling, extroverted hostel experience, this may not be for you.

All went not went good apart manger behaviour.

Property is on good location but parking is very expensive.

The manger is very rude and unkind . He behaved with me very bad and aggressively even I had paid extra charges he demanded. I didn’t like his attitude and I will never recommend to anyone to stay in this property due to that guy . I have never faced a rude person in my travels history . I never complained against any body in past But this guy really heart me a lot . I wish booking.com take some action against him.

Great little property for couples wanting to be in close the the center of cardiff

Perfect size room for a couple nights stay. Great supplies in the kitchen and plenty of seat in the dining area. Very easy check-in process

Good potential but no sleep

Good value for money, access to a clean kitchen and plates etc. Bedroom was clean and quite comfortable.

Access to room is via a flimsy little fob. When I went to brush my teeth around 1am, I left the fob inside so was locked out of my room for the whole night with no phone or anyone around- so no sleep. I get that this could happen at any hotel but the differnece is that there’s no reception desk to sort such an issue. **There should be a PHONE at the property to allow guests to call in an emergency or if this was to happen ** When another guest finally helped me at 6am fo call them, the staff weren’t sympathetic to the situation.

Newly refurbished comfortable room.

The hotel is very near to the stadium and the station. Very warm and TV is big. No noise from the street, I could sleep well. The shower room is on upstair, it’s no problem to me. Very nice room.

It was a very nice location. Everything was clean. The room was good and the service also was really good. Very close to the centre of the city.

The only thing was the toilet because the toilet is not in the same room, so at night, if you want to go to the toilet, you have to to dress first and then go outside the room to the toilet

Spotlessly clean, and stylishly furnished accommodation.

The only down side was that as my room looked out over a busy pathway, it was often noisy, and I'm a very light sleeper. The place itself is excellent though. En suite would have been a big bonus, and not having to go through several doors, and up/down stairs for the toilets and showers, trying not to disturb fellow guests if it was late, but it was no great hassle, and they were always spotless. They also provided Vegan options for the continental breakfast.

If I stayed again, I'd like a room away from the front, if possible.

This place got it all. Location? Check. Comfort? Check. Kindness? Check. Clean? Check. Good breakfast? Check. I booked only 1 day before staying here, and I didn’t expect much but this will prolly stay in my memories for a long time. Stop reading reviews, and just book already. Location was perfectly close to the centre of Cardiff but far enough away to not be caught up with the business on the weekend.

Top floor got quite hot, even in September so be wary of that. And, the toilet was down two flights of stairs, so would not be great for anyone who needs the toilet a lot at night.

Great place in an excellent location.

Extremely clean. Bed was very comfortable. Breakfast was very good. I liked that there was a well equipped kitchen which allowed me to prepare meals if I didn't feel like dining out. One minor suggestion for consideration - bedside mats/rugs and some mats for the bathrooms.

No bedside rugs. No mats in bathrooms. Room was a bit stuffy and hot. Fix the latch on window which my allow the window to open a bit more and allow better airflow.

A calm & practical stay with great bread

The bread for breakfast was really good, artisan, it even smelled of yeast. I liked how the shared bathrooms were planned out: there were some rooms that only had toilets, some that only had showers, and some that had a toilet and a shower; which was really convenient for getting ready in the morning without moving from one room to another. The patio area was lovely.

Some shower rooms didn't have a hook for holding the towel. It's nitpicking, yes, but I cannot really say anything else that disappointed me. My stay was really nice.

Really great Location for the centre of Cardiff. 5 minute walk to Cardiff Castle and the brilliant Bute Park, shops and Principality Stadium. Lovely clean, modern property with several individual shower rooms that are shared.Comfy modern room with a double bed and a single bunk. Very good breakfast for the price, well worth paying. A selection of streaming services in the room, which pleased my son no end. Thoroughly enjoyed staying at the Riverhouse.

The location of the accommodation was great for getting into the centre of town. Plus it was really clean and the bed was very comfy.

Parking is tricky but that applies to anywhere in that location to be fair. Best plan ahead, I didn't, nor ask but there are plenty of places nearby.
