Some really nice touches in the room and a gift bag on leaving with fudge and water. We felt well looked after. Great breakfast with different items on the menu.
Our room the Jervis room had a food extractor fan by it which was a little off putting at first but you got used to it. Also we could hear noises including a mascerator toilet in the room next door and phone calls etc

Staff are great. We were wet and muddy after a days walking and they were so helpful. Room was very cosy and well appointed and the dogs so well catered for. Great food too.
Can't think of anything.

This medieval building (originally a merchant's house) has been imaginatively and stylishly converted to a small hotel with lots of tasteful coastal-themed pictures. The rooms are small, but have everything you need and the bed was comfortable. It is very dog friendly and there always seemed to be a number of well-behaved and friendly dogs around, which give it a homely atmosphere. (We didn't bring ours) The hotel is close to the harbourside quay which we could see the harbour from our room (Raleigh). The staff are friendly and helpful. There was plenty of choice for the cooked breakfasts, which were very good. The bread is excellent (particularly the sourdough).
This hotel is not the place for peace and quiet. The walls and floors between the rooms are very thin and one is always very conscious of one's neighbours (who were mercifully not noisy in our case). Our room was also above the entrance where there is seating for the cafe and is between the next door pub and the ferry, so most of the time you have people talking below (the windows are single-glazed). The parking is also not ideal. They say there is plenty of off road, but this is mostly limited to 1 or 2 hours with a small amount for longer in off-season (but which is almost always taken). Be prepared to pay an extra £12 a day for the car park which is 10 minutes walk away. There is a very limited choice for breakfast cereal (coco-pops, cornflakes and granola). No muesli and only non fat and fruit yogurt.

The staff were very friendly and helpful. The room was very clean and warm.
The room is tiny. To be expected in such an old establishment, but with big suitcases (travelling from overseas) it was uncomfortably small. It wasn’t the right fit for us, but that is on us for not being more thorough in our research prior to booking.

We loved it all. We rented 6 of the 7 rooms and we all had a marvellous time. The dinner was gorgeous and the breakfasts excellent. The staff were all exceptional and rooms were so individual and special.

Excellently breakfast. Plenty of choice. In addition to the fixed dishes on the menu they were happy to "mix and match " as requested. Room very comfortable and warm.
Only comment i have is that the carpets in the busy area were in need of cleaning.

Everything was exceptional. The room was beautifully appointed, the food delicious and the staff friendly and helpful. The historic inn is in a fabulous location in central Dartmouth overlooking Bayards Cove. The gift bag on leaving was a lovely gesture. We will definitely stay again.
Nothing really. The stairs are quite narrow and steep but you would expect this given the age of this lovely historic building but they could be a problem for anyone with mobility issues. Although there is no parking at the inn this is not really a problem as there is plenty of free on road parking close by

Food was excellent, accommodation comfortable, staff very friendly and happy to do anything to make our stay as pleasant as possible.
The ensuite was a bit cramped and the shower did run a bit hot and cold at times but these are small criticisms.

Wonderful staff, well appointed room and good en-suite, thoughtful touches such as the wide variety of drinks provided in the room and the gift bag as we left. Plus the excellent food for both breakfast and the evening meal. It was a lovely, quirky and historic building in an amazing location for exploring the town and walking along the river.
The room’s only window looked out at other close walls of the building and it was quite a small room. Parking was very difficult but it was regatta week so that made it much busier.

Very comfortable room and dog ready and welcoming. Breakfast was fabulous and a little travel pack when we left, unexpected but wonderful.
No parking but that is hardly their fault!
