We paid in trimpe more than usual room and we got second one. Old place.

Cleaning conditions

We paid for room which was not ready for booking. repairs in progress. Floor is not ready, not talking about room. They did not open that floor for guest at all, but booking already sell it for us.

Cheap and cheerful

Price and location.

Shower needed fixing. No support to hold shower up. Decor a little tired but cannot complain for the money. Ideally situated for the BIC.

Awful. Avoid.

Close to sea.

Everything. Really dirty, outdated and there was a party really loud until 12am. Staff not helpful at all. The worse was asking for £12 a day for their private parking which was full of rubbish on the floor. From the outside looked like an abandoned building. The rooms extremely dirty, from carpet never hoovered and massive stains on the walls. The mattresses were really old and dipped in the middle. The bar tables were dirty and sticky to seat on.

Nothing, it’s a building site.

The property is undergoing maintenance and is pretty much a building site. The lifts are held together by silver tape. The room was filthy, floor not hoovered from previous guests who were obviously builders and had very dirty boots. Big black hair on the coffee mug! Toilet not cleaned Shower door handle and controls broken You pull the curtain for privacy and you and up opening up the other end as they do not cover the whole window which faces onto the street.

I'd give it a miss if I were you

The car park was easily accessible.

There was a really uneasy atmosphere to the place. The car park looked like the sort of place a serial killer might hide a body. The shower was dirty. The bed wouldn't have been out of place in a jail cell. We got in the room and very quickly decided to book a different hotel for the night. We ended up 400 feet up the road at the very lovely Collingwood Hotel.

Satisfatory, wouldn't stay again

The breakfast down the road at the other hotel was good. The staff were friendly

The mattress on the bed was like being swallowed by a marshmallow, absolutely awful. You could feel all the springs. The shower was a dribble, couldn't get it to work more than that and warmish temperature. The floor boards creaked every time moved about. It's in desperate need of renovation.

Revolting and unclean

Location only

Man on reception was very rude on arrival. Given ket to room window was wide open and no heating on. We closed window and turned radiator on. Went out to see a show on return there as a disgusting overwhelm g smell of urine all around the room. Man on reception said it didn't smell. It was revolting, we got a taxi home

Two items i didn't want on my breakfast plate. The blonde haired lad who did the var was very sharp, abrupt and very rude. Im.surprised he didn't break several glasses the way he slammed them on the bar .

Stepping back in time…

The location is great, if you want central.

They have strange hours for the pool, with hotel guests and children swim times, so forget they have a pool. The hotel is dated, rooms very small and bar creepy.

Fab spot for a cozy getaway near the town centre.

It’s in a great location to the town’s amenities and the beach, car park can be tight if you have a large vehicle but the prices are very reasonable during your stay. The place has a lot of character and all of the staff were amazingly welcoming and accommodating. There’s some refurb works going on and they were apologetic for any noise or disruption. Fab little spot!

Going back to the refurb works, we lost lighting on the second floor for quite some time which from what I understand was preventable. The lift wouldn’t let us out on our floor which had us panicking a little until someone let us out from the outside.

Run down and smelt badly. Bath water was brown, lights didn’t work, window got stuck and had difficulty with the heat. Loud as they focussed on the bar and had to avoid an obstacle course of glasses on the stairs in the morning

Happy overnight stay

Room clean and comfortable, had a tv and kettle and hairdryer supplied in room Bathroom was clean , shower powerful and nice fluffy clean towels provided . Parked car easily . Used the pool and jacuzzi in the morning . Reception staff lovely and they recommended going to Castlepoint shopping park , plenty of retail therapy .

Hmmmm

The room was great very spacious but the mattress was not comfortable, you could feel the springs coming through , the lift got stuck on our floor which i did got very upset about as I suffer with closterphober, but we managed to put it to the next floor to get out and walk down to our floor , I did tell the reception staff and they said ohhh yes if this happens just go to another floor or just use the stairs to which I said I won't be using the lift again I will just walk up the stairs which in this day and age is not great as we have to carry things up to our room and being an older lady this does affect me ,we also paid for a buffet breakfast, which it wasn't at all we wked in to no staff and all the tables were empty but full of dirty plates cups etc , I went to look for cup to get a coffee and was confronted with a lady worker who said what are you looking for !?!! I SAID a mug to get a drink ,she said I will bring it out then we were told to sit at a table full of dirty plates mugs etc from previous guests and were told we will clean it away in a minute, which didn't happen and my partner moved it all, we were then told there were no beans left for our breakfast, which I'm sure is a staple item , I asked if I could have some tomatoes as I saw on other people's plates and it was bought over and chucked on the table , not once did we have an apology for anything, I know we weren't staying in a five star hotel but having worked in hospitality all my working years there has to be some sort of customer care to make sure your guests are looked after and ultimately want to rate you and come back ??

The privacy in the pool changing room. Wasnt nice. where people could see you getting dressed when coming down the stairs or via the lift. The glass panels should be frosted and maybe a lock or sign fitted on the door for when the changing room is in use

Adequate but needs a few tweaks.

Welcoming and friendly staff. Very helpful. Cozy room. Comfortable beds.

The bedroom was marked with a number of stains on the carpet. A bit dated. The room was incredibly hot, even with the windows open and a fan running all night. Due to needing the windows open it was quite noisy from the late night revellers and passing traffic. Parking I was lucky with, but it was quite late in the season and I can imagine during busy times parking onsite would be an issue. Also, £12/night is one of the more expensive car parking charges.

Good value for money for it purpose

We stayed only one night with my daughter as weekend away and wanted something close to the city center and with swimming pool . Room is small but if u need just to sleep it is just right . I would say Convince location , warm swimming pool ,sauna , jacuzzi , parking not free but good value

Good location. It is close to a beach and a conference.

It doesn’t take a long time to serve a breakfast. Provides a special breakfast since my colleagues ask for vegan diet. In addition, it is a reasonable price.

Consider to put an extra lock ( eg chain )at the door, so the person can’t come into the room immediately even they have an extra key.
