Staff were friendly and accommodating. Facilities were clean and available. Rooms were a good size and generally quiet.
Most was very good. A couple of small issues. A fire alarm being set off early Sunday morning wasnt great. In the room there was no small fridge. When we requested a vase for some fresh flowers were told the Hilton (a 4 star hotel allegedly) didnt have any available, which seemed odd and rather disappointing. Restaurant was fine although, the menu was very limited and the 2 main courses we ordered were not available (on a Saturday night?) and so we had even less choice.

It was clean and tidy
The breakfast was cold not impressed at all

Spacious room, comfortable mattress, plenty of pillows, good shower, decent breakfast buffet, friendly staff, good location for visiting the Potteries, Titanic brewery and other Stoke attractions. Loads of parking spaces, and £7.50/night is not a bad rate for parking.
Bottled water in the room would have been nice.

I had a really lovely stay at the DoubleTree by Hilton in Stoke. From the moment I arrived, the staff were incredibly warm, welcoming and genuinely helpful.
A special mention has to go to Jane on reception, who was absolutely wonderful friendly, attentive and made the whole experience feel very nice.
The hotel itself was spotless throughout, and the interior was actually much nicer than I expected. Everything felt clean, comfortable and well looked after, which made it easy to relax and enjoy the stay.
A big thank you to the team for such a pleasant visit I wouldn’t hesitate to stay again.

Beautiful grounds and easy close to amenities

It was easy to get to
The shower leaked, there were stains on the bedding, big queues in reception then the staff didn’t seem to know what they were doing resulting in numerous parking charges being debited from my card, Booked the restaurant for a meal, when we arrived downstairs the restaurant was closed and we had to eat in the bar. The food was edible but overpriced. Breakfast was incredibly busy, we had to wait for ages to be seated and the buffet was only half full

Fine, although very busy and not complete selection due to few staff seemingly on duty. Room for three quite spacious and sufficient. Swimming pool and sauna/steam room good although pool soon became very busy. Xmas Day meal previously booked and was excellent, food and service, and indeed attention, very good
As above

Comfy bed, good shower, good breakfast.
Staff were mostly absent, service very slow when you did get someone, never any milk at the hot drink station, reception didn't answer the phone from the room, lunch was plentiful but poor standard and weird combinations of foods. Bedroom was very dark even with all the lights on because of where the lights were positioned.

Very comfy bed, great bathroom and shower - all spotlessly clean.
Reception area and Josiah’s bar/restaurant is all very new and smart.
Room also refurbished and looked great. Bed was so comfortable, pillows amazing.
It was a great location for what we needed but we didn’t get to use the pool etc - maybe we will if we go back.
Bit of a wait to check in, not really clear why.
Room temp was too high when we arrived (22°) and we put it down to 18° and went out - 5hrs later it was still very warm in there… it did cool down overnight and to be fair we both slept very well.

I didn't like the wet room bathroom at all. I would've preferred a bath.
The constant whirr of the lift going up and down all night long and the drunk guests who were staying on the second floor beside us who partied all night and prevented me from getting any sleep at all the night before my daughter's gymnastics competition.

The room was lovely but would have been nice to have a bath in the room instead of a walk in shower
The pool was disappointing. Only two loungers, both soaking wet and covered in swimmers towels. As not swimming just supervising the children this was a shame. Ordered room service for evening meal. Took an hour for two pizzas which were delivered cold. Had to queue 20mins to get into restaurant for breakfasts and then food at buffet had run out and took a very long time to replenish

The staff was friendly and very welcoming. There were variety of foods for breakfast and the food was served fresh and still hot. Lastly, the rooms were very clean and bathroom had all the necessities for showering.

Very clean tidy and nice food
Heating was stupid. You as would be able to control the temperature in the rooms. It was like a sauna in our room even with the radiator turned off and window open

The meal during the function could have done with a soup course/option.
Breakfast the following morning however was good and plentyful.
Booking-in took a lengthy time with people queueing for some time. The booking-in process could have been a bit slicker. This might be down to the process; number of staff on the desk at busy times or over thoroughness.
The hotel bar was oft-times manned by only one person who was taking drink orders and serving drinks; taking meal orders and serving meals to the tables and generally trying to run the whole affair on their own.

Facilities, and location suited us as a meeting point
Unfortunately we had a couple of rooms over the plant area for the hotels, ventilation/air con, it did go a little quieter after 11 ish but then picked up again 6 ish but did get a good sleep

We liked having two double beds rather than 1 and a sofa bed. Lots of plug points. We liked that there was a pool, steam, sauna, restaurant and bar. We liked the storage space in the room. The welcome cookies and room freshen up the next day were nice touches.
Another mirror with brighter lights in bedroom would have been handy. Around the window sill was mouldy when we opened the window. Needs a deep clean. We had to pay £7.50 a night for parking which was disappointing and we were told that it was because we booked via booking.com.

The property was clean beds were comfy
I had asked for a nice gesture for my partners birthday and was told banners would be put in the room. Arrived and nothing. Purchased half board which is 30 pp each for food, would have been cheaper doing bed and breakfast and ordering from the menu. Unable to use the pool due to swimming lessons. Breakfast time was like feeding time at the zoo no clean plates or cups staff run of their feet!

Room & Service:
Our initial room was located at the front of the hotel, right next to the main road, which made it quite noisy. Thankfully, Anca at reception was absolutely fantastic. She was incredibly kind, attentive, and apologetic, and arranged for us to move rooms without any fuss. Her customer service was exceptional—something that’s sadly becoming rare in the UK. She made sure we were happy with the new room and handled everything with genuine care.
The second room was much quieter, although we did find two spiders inside. Not a major issue—we just threw them out the window. It seemed the room hadn’t been cleaned that day, likely because it wasn’t scheduled to be used, but it was otherwise fine.
Facilities & Location:
We didn’t get a chance to use the pool, but it looked clean and well-maintained. The hotel is reasonably priced compared to other well-known chains and is very centrally located. It’s an easy drive to Hanley and also to Alton Towers, which made it a convenient choice for our plans.
Booking Experience – Major Issue:
We were very unhappy with Booking.com. We had clearly booked for the 25th September, but somehow the reservation was made for the 25th December. This was definitely not a human error on our part—we double-checked the dates and filters before confirming. We only discovered the issue the night before our stay, and thankfully were able to contact Booking.com to rectify it. When we arrived, Hilton staff told us that another guest had experienced the exact same issue the day before, but unfortunately there were no rooms available for them. This seems to be a serious fault with Booking.com’s system and one that should be properly investigated.
Breakfast:
Breakfast was okay, but not great. We had it around 7am and found the hot food a bit dry. The fruit selection was disappointing—very limited, which is surprising for a Hilton. A bit more variety would have made a big difference.
