Great room & pub
Friendly staff, a very comfortable bed, I slept really well. Nice clean modern bathroom. Loved the pub, a proper 'local' atmosphere with a great selection of beers. Room was on the small side but the space was well managed. Excellent value for money.
Room was on the small size, but more than adequate for solo traveller. Would have liked a breakfast option but price reflects that. Possibly a later checkout time might be better for guests. I would have loved an extra hour in bed !

Forget your Premier Inns. The price here is fantastic!This little gem near the theatre and with brilliant transport links is comfortable, modern, stylish and immaculate. It's a proper pub with boutique rooms. Having a code for your room instead of a key was good too. No lost keys or worrying about handing over when you check out.
I think parking is a bit limited and the outside staircase would be difficult if you had any mobility issues. Not a big issue if you're pre warned.

Enjoyed my stay, even though the football match I came to see was cancelled.
The Bass was excellent! Also enjoyed the decor in the pub, especially the embroidery sent from First World War soldier to his wife. As it was Valentine's Day, I took a photograph and sent it to mine.
It's above a very good pub, which suits me, but perhaps not so good if you are somebody who likes to be asleep early.

One of the best places we have ever stayed at. We are aleady planning a return for a karaoke night.
A fantastic little pub. Spotlessly clean. Very friendly staff and customers. We didn't want to leave and go to the gig which we had tickets for, as we were having such a laugh with the customers. The beer is THE BEST I've had in years!!!!! Everything is run like clock work. Close to the town if you were going there. 5 Mins to a brilliant Indian restaurant. (Monsoon). No bother with keys, everything is opened with numerial codes.
Parking. You can park by the side of the pub, but I'd arrive about 5pm after the nursery up the road has had the kids all collected. Loads of room by then.

Perfect stay
We went to the local theatre (5 min walk away) so decided to stay here. The welcome and information was the best I’ve ever had. The room was exactly like the photo and bathroom was lovely. Everything was clean and well organised. It was just a perfect stay. The pub down stairs is cosy and had a great atmosphere.
Check out is at 10am, but you can ask to extend if you need to.

Super comfy boutique hotel above a fabulous pub
I stayed at The Victoria for one night to go to a gig at The New Vic. As a solo female traveller it’s important for me to be located near to music venues I visit. The journey by uber from the station was about 15 minutes from the station. I had a very warm welcome when I arrived at the pub which was lovely. I completed the paperwork, given all the info and health & safety details for my stay whilst shown to my room. I had room 3. It was beautiful. Clean, tidy and the bed was super comfy. Great choice of beverages to choose from including hot chocolate from a reputable hot beverage brand Clipper. The power shower was bliss. The hotel does not do hot food but this was not a problem as there is a large pub just up the road. The decor is in keeping with the era. After my gig back at the pub there was an open mic night on so it was lovely to enjoy the music with a glass of wine sat by the coal fire place. The Victoria is a lovely little independent pub, the owners are welcoming and look after their guests. I would definitely stay again when the band play in the area again.
