Stayed with a mate for 6 nights in May 2026. We used the hotel as a base for a motorcycle holiday, we have previously stayed here for the same thing. We had a twin room with ensuite bathroom. The room was clean, but dated, there was a strong smell of tobacco smoke in the room, probably due to being on the first floor and near the smoking area, as none smokers this did irritate slightly. We could have moved room if we'd have asked. The hotel staff were lovely, if you asked for anything it was done ! I had a winter duvet which was too hot, I asked for a blanket and it was given within 10 minutes. We used the breakfast option once during the stay, it had continental as well as cooked options, very nice it was too. Would we stay again ? Most definitely, if you're expecting the Ritz or the Hilton then you'd be very disappointed, but for 2 guys on a motorcycle holiday it was perfect. The location is good for eateries in and around the Hotel, we used the local restaurants on an evening and Spoons for breakfast each day, apart from one. The car parking is free and had security lights and CCTV. We will most definitely use this hotel again next year for the same thing. For an independent hotel it's very good, which i can't say about every independent hotel. I would say the hotel is a good 2 star edging upto 3 stars

I've stayed here twice while visiting friends.
A comfy hotel with big rooms, if you stay in the main building. It also has additional rooms across the car park which are smaller but still good for a 1-2 night stay.

Stayed with a friend for 3 nights whilst on a motorcycle holiday. The hotel is an independent hotel, slightly dated but very clean and towels changed daily in the room. Reception staff were lovely and very helpful. We didn't try the restaurant as there are loads of eateries around the hotel, plus a number of Turkish barbers should you need a hair cut. Area felt very safe and I would recommend the Arnold Machin pub near the centre, which is a leisurely 5 minute stroll. All in all, very good and would recommend, just don't expect the Hilton Hotel or you'll be disappointed.
