Lymedale Suites

Lovely room, good amount of space. The kitchenette fits a fridge, 2 ring hob, microwave and sink into a small neat space. The refurbished room was pristine, the bed comfy. We stayed here in an emergency as our boiler had broken down and we needed to escape our very cold house. Our room was warm and we were able to have a hot shower and a comfortable night, and a hot meal at the Lymedale Bar and Restaurant next door.

The entrance could do with a coat of paint to make a better first impression. Walls between rooms are thin.

The rooms were clean and convenient, ample parking and friendly staff.

Having two rooms as one apartment gave our teenage son some privacy. The beds were comfortable enough for a hotel and having the kitchenette was useful, especially the utensils.

The TV in the smaller room didn't receive any signal so we all ended up in one room with inadequate seating for 4 of us (we were visiting our daughter at uni), there was no specific seating area to eat together, just a sort of breakfast bar in the larger room. Some visitors didn't seem to recognise that the walls from the corridor were quite thin and having a loud discussion out there at 5 in the morning is thoughtless

Reasonable self catering apartment, basic but does the job

Accommodation was clean and easily accessible. Its basic and does the job for a quick stay.

Was not sure if the car park was safe in the night, after 6pm there is no staff or anyone if you have questions. For a first timer it seems secluded. Lights are on motion sensor so initially one enters in the dark walking through narrow corridors.

Steak in the Room

The room was spacious and well stocked on facilities. I've never had a room with my own hob and fridge before so it was ideal to cook my own dinner and relax on the sofa with red wine. The bar and restaurant was warm and had a great selection of beers. Will definitely stay here again.

Possibly a little far out of the way but I walked to and from the local Morrisons in about a half hour so it wasn't really an issue. Just writing something here to fill the space.

This is my 4th time staying at Lymedale and it was exactly as expected. The room are basic/no frills but they are clean and tidy. Good shower, small kitchen area with fridge, kettle, microwave and sink and the room I had also had a desk, sofa, tv and a breakfast bar with 2 stools. Sandra (reception) is always very friendly and calls a few days before your stay to answer any questions etc. Will always stay here whenever I'm visiting this area. The reception is not manned at night but you require a key card to enter the building, again for the hallway to rooms and then again for your actual room so you do feel safe and secure. There is an Asda local small store within walking distance and a large Sainsburys a few minutes drive away. There is also free onsite parking at the apartments.

It was clean but basic. Having said that- it was reasonably priced so no problem.

The reception closed for check in at 6pm and so guests have to arrive before 6pm. This is extremely unusual and inconvenient. Very very restrictive and inconvenient to force guests to arrive by 6pm in this day and age! No flexibility with timings which is really a pain! There should be more flexibility due to many factors- for example, guests may be travelling in and have delayed journeys!

Good for long stays

Plenty of parking on arrival and a very friendly welcome. Room was a good size and included enough storage for clothes. I was staying for 4 days and a big part of my reason for booking here was because of the fridge and microwave as I didn't want to spend money on eating out/takeaway. The room also had a stovetop which came with basic cookware and cutlery as well as washing liquid.

Disappointed that my room did not have a bath or curtains, only blinds. I also did not find the bed particularly comfortable. It was two singles put together with no headboard and I could feel the divide between the beds, as well as the springs. On the plus size, the pillows were soft.

Very enjoyable stay.

We didn't know what to expect having seen some poor reviews, but we need not have worried. The place was very clean included bed linen. The room was well equipped with a large comfortable double bed. We can't fault anything except for a loose tap fitting in the kitchen. The room was warm - if anything too warm even though there was no heating on. The staff and owner we met were very friendly and helpful. The room faced the main road so there was some traffic noise but that was to be expected given the location. It died down in the evening. Although there was a kitchen for self catering we ate at the restaurant on site. The food was very good and great value. We would definitely stay again - it is exceptional value.

A great find

The room had everything you could need in it including a fridge with small freezer, microwave and hobs, and crockery, cutlery and glassware. There were numerous supermarkets nearby (within walking distance) and the pub located on site served good food and drinks. The room had a very informative folder with all information you could need. The shower was hot and powerful. The member of staff I spoke to on the phone and at the front desk was very informative, friendly and helpful.

The limited check in time (you had to be there by 6pm or didn't get in) meaning we had to change our travel plans to get there on time. Due to the location being beside a busy road, there was constant traffic noise.

Room and facilities excellent. Building and immediate surroundings very shabby and time expired.

This really is a place of two halves. Internally the room, its size, its facilities, cleanliness, comfort, and standard is tending towards excellent - certainly very good for the price paid. Easily as good as Premier Inns. This is ideal accommodation for a short stay, good price, no frills, good location, shops and supermarkets nearby. Entirely self catering, although there is an evening meal place which we did not use. Lots of space on car park. Its a pity that on arrival you can't just close your eyes and not open them until you get inside the room ! The car park on a Saturday night in June was almost empty - indicating very low occupancy.

Whilst the internal standard of the room, and its facilities, are excellent - its a pity the same can't be said for anything to do with the building - its exterior, the immediate surroundings. This is a very tired looking building complex - that has clearly seen better days since its Thomas Foreshaw hotel days back in the 1980's and 1990's. All aspects of the building, both external and internal corridors, are shabby and very neglected and run down. The surrounding paths, car park, other unused buildings are dirty, overgrown and shabby. Don't look out of the windows as there is nothing good to see. Vertical blind on window did not provide any early morning darkness for a June stay. Alex Polizzi would have a field day trying to improve this places exernal image. She would be more than happy with the rooms..

Not friendly or considered any humanitarian situation

Very disappointing and stressful night , because your accommodation was cancelled due to late arrive

Very Rude staff. Not want to welcome me , probably about my ethnicity. Reception closed at 6pm. due to the incident of train delay we reached 19:30. Door was shut and they didn't even contacted me to check where I am. I have send them massages about the train incident,. try to contact them through phone but no one was answering the call. A night watcher was available to speak ,who contacted the manager to accommodate us, but refused entry and cancelled my accommodation. I was ended up in the street with family and wasn't sure what to do. My trip was a nightmare. I do understand the check in policy , but they could do bit more to support people getting some kind of situation like this. We don't want to remember this tragedy any more
