Clean, charming and comfortable
Everything. Whilst we only stayed for one night, we couldnt have chosen a better place to stay. The rooms were spotless and finished to a high stamdard with everything we needed. The kitchenette was helpful to make some toast for our breakfast in the morning and our beds were super comfoetable, making the rooms warm and cosy. James greeted us and checked us in efficiently on arrival, our rooms secure and conveniently situated above the pub. James agreed a late check out which we were grateful for. Location quiet deapite the hubub of the pub below with a convenience ahop opposite for supplies.
Minor improvement more than a dislike, a bedside table would be great for our cup of tea. :) Thanks again James and the team.

It was impossible to stay here after our experience upon arrival and we had to leave.
NOTHING! This place is the most awful booking mistake I made. I had to cancel. It is patronised by thugs and racist with a pathetic attitude.
This place is a pub and looks more like a drugs den. We were subjected to terrible racial slurs upon arrival. We are called by the "G" word by one of the patrons upon arrival and she asked us if we're were lost. It was so embarrassing. We were not allowed through to the reception and we were made to wait outside in the cold whilst we await someone from reception to check us in and no one turned for a long while. Whilst we awaited, we were subjected to terrible racism and in the end had to leave and look for alternative accommodation.

Good in all respects except for the noise, which unfortunately would prevent us form returning.
The room, facilities, welcome from James, and efficiency were all very good.
We stayed on a Saturday and the noise from the bar area, mainly music, was loud and over-bearing in the room, which we returned to at 2200 and although we asked James to turn the music down, which he did a little, it could still be heard to an unaccepatbel leve and stayed at this volume until just before midnight.

A fantastic place to stay near Newcastle
This is a lovely little hotel (or, rather, a pub with bedrooms upstairs although the entrance is separate). The rooms are clean, comfortable, well-equipped and quite recently refurbished. There is a shared kitchenette with toaster and microwave (handy for breakfast) and a fridge in the room. The staff are very welcoming. Downstairs is a working pub with a good selection of beer. There is a car park.
It didn't bother me, but there is a bit of noise from the pub earlier in the evening (just people having fun). It wouldn't suit someone who wanted a very early night.
