Quirky but improvement needed

Clean and tidy looked quirky in an interesting location.

Have stayed in converted buildings to hotels around the world, but this site was disappointing.The windows allow poor ventilation, the room was hot all night, (February), there is a fan provided but its only useful if you are used to sleeping under a jet engine(noisy)the doors all slam loudly as appear to be poorly fitted and the carpark area is noisy until late at night, sound insulation seems non existent.

Good value for money, just needs a few finishing touches.

Good location & good price. The bar & restaurant downstairs are excellent. Potbank has a quirky vibe.

The shower was stuck on hot. Very basic accommodation. A single chair not sofa to sit on, if there’s two of you not sure where the other sits to watch tv. No paintings or decor on the walls. Could be so much more with a few finishing touches especially if a little quirky to match the theme downstairs.

Superb location for short stay

Location and facilities. Have stayed several times previously.

Kitchen area would benefit from a small table. Bathroom needs shelf and somewhere to put towels (not floor). Mattress is due for replacement, could feel springs.

Disappointing

Good if basic facilities

Check-out time of 10am is unusually early and a bit inconvenient. We had a private party in the restaurant downstairs which is brilliant. By contrast the hotel is very impersonal. It would be a great venue if the restaurant and the hotel were operating together rather than completely separate. The restaurant is completely dog-friendly whereas the hotel does not accept dogs. It is a bit weird and somewhat awkward having two unrelated business occupying the same space, and I feel that Potbank would be an unbeatable venue if it was more joined up.

Rude woman who runs the text which is all the help you can get

First of you look at what they say they have starting with bingo and water park invoice provided no literally none of that And my issue zero on booking.com about the lack of accessibility they rudely keep saying yes it is listed and possibly on their website but to this date no nothing on booking Also top window was open it’s the style you use a long stick to close I couldn’t get it to close and due to weather it kept making loud crashing as the wind blew it open and I didn’t want to text the woman who had been rude at 1-3am to get her to send a person so had no choice but leave it open

Accessibility there was no information about arriving to no employees and stairs and no elevator once they replied sent someone she just said no only stairs This wouldn’t have been bad if the woman who runs their text was at all polite about this & I can walk so managed with a heart condition hey my heavy baggage up but if I had arrived from out of town with someone in wheelchair we would have had no place to stay

Difficult to find the entrance arch in the dark No table for eating/laptop - a small desk with drawers would have been better than the chest of drawers

Potbank

The uniqueness of the hotel is quite different. The room had plenty of features, and I appreciated the fridge to keep drinks cold.

Extractor fan in the bathroom was very noisy, bed was a bit uncomfortable, parking at the hotel wasn't mentioned on booking ( Unless I missed it) , £5 per 24 hours.

Loved this place and the staff were excellent

The room was spacious and comfortable. The receptionist loves the history, hotel and is passionate about Stoke on Trent and that’s important for people visiting. I made some booboos and the cleaning staff were really helpful. Handy if you want to visit the cool bar restaurant downstairs

Lovely stay. Brilliant staff

A quick overnight stay and I can honestly say it was a very good experience. Staff were very polite and very attentive. Lovely friendly welcome when I arrived although I went to the wrong desk on arrival, the staff were very courteous and showed me where to go. The bar and restaurant were also staffed by really friendly and well mannered staff. Would definitely recommend for anyone visiting Stoke on trent. 5 mins walk from the station. Room was well equipped and the the added bonus of a microwave and fridge was a great addition. Well done to all involved who work here

Slept well and great area with museum , trad pubs and plenty of cafes

Very clean. Comfortable bed. Ideal place for ceramic biennale which was great. Plenty of places for breakfast. Stayed midweek so don’t know what weekends are like. Great price.

Generally excellent

Second stay at Potbank and as before room comfortable, cosy and clean. All you need regards facilities. Did stay only on Thursday nights both times but generally very quiet. Easy self check-in this time, maybe because we had stayed before, and check-out. Would have been excellent rating but for....

This time I received a very curt message after checking out telling me ' it's illegal to smoke in the workplace, it will be reported' along with a photo of our room bin. I messaged back explaining that we definitely didn't smoke in the room and the butts were there because we had brought them back in from outside. We don't like dropping our cigarette ends in the street. The reply I received to that message was a succinct 'thanks for letting us know' so I am still unsure as to whether we are welcome back in the future or not.

Great value for money and lovely place

Great location and great place with bar and restaurant - beautifully decorated! Check in was easy and room was just as described and great value for money with everything we needed - very clean.

Only thing was that the room was very warm but this is expected as the old style building had large windows and it was summer!
