I’ve travelled quite a bit and I’ve rarely been so impressed. Every staff member in this hotel has gone above and beyond during our stay. Our room was always perfect, so was every corner in the building. We had a wonderful time and we plan to go back every year.
The baby cot might need upgrading!

Everything was perfect, clean, beautiful.
The reception staff kindly offered an upgrade and the suite was simply amazing.
The staff are very helpful and smiling, very welcoming. Special thanks to Mr Nazih, Mrs Sabrina, Mrs Darine and all their colleagues who kindly made our stay an unforgettable experience.

The room and its balcony, the breakfast, the heated pool, the robe and slippers
The WiFi didn’t stay connected, had to keep signing in, even after consulting with staff. Most annoying.
Complicated light switches, couldn’t control individual lamps.
Xmas decorations too outrageous.o

The location of the property was beautiful and the views from the room were spectacular. The staff were all so welcoming and friendly. I like the fact that the app allows you to request things to your room without having to always call the reception such as pillows, towels etc. I received the most warm welcome upon my arrival and would like to give a special mention to Gamal. His hospitality was exceptional and his customer service was beyond excellent. He ensured I received a 5 star welcome and made my stay very comfortable.
The only thing I would note is that when walking to the breakfast area, there wasn’t anyone at the doors to greet and seat you so I had to walk in and get somebody’s attention. The staff were very receptive and did approach me most of the time when I walked in but it would be nice to have someone at the entrance area of the breakfast area (when you get out of the lift) to make getting seated for breakfast a little easier.

This was our third time and as before has been a wonderful stay, very nice hotel and great atmosphere and environment, the quality of the food is excellent and the restaurant staff is super nice, excellent family staycation!
At check in the staff was not very clear, I asked for a higher floor room with mosque view but he told me that on the higher floors is another category but it wasn’t accurate as previously I ve been in these category room but on an higher floor on the right end wing of the hotel, anyway after I insisted on my request we eventually got a different room just 1 floor up then previous one and it was a nice just there was no view of the mosque, apart this small misunderstanding everything has been great!

The location only
The staff rude not helpful, and the room style its very close to each other I can hear everything from the neighbours room like they are with me in my room, no privacy at all. I can hear them very clear and for each step they will move or talk i can hear them, it was not comfortable at all i didn’t sleep well

Breakfast was fantastic as there was so much choice. All staff were both helpful and efficient, nothing was too much trouble.I even returned to my room to find a bookmark slipped inside. It was these thoughtful touches that made my stay so special.
Two new lampshades as mine were a little shabby!

We booked a room for a one-day stop-over in Abu Dhabi. We had previously booked a tour of the city, but were still suffering some gastronomic issues from Egypt, so we took a shorter version of the tour.
Coming back to the hotel, it was nice to be greeted by multiple staff members assisting our checkin, dinner recommendations, etc.
I spent a couple hours at the pool, and we also just sat on the veranda watching boat races from a special event.
We felt relaxed for the first time in a week.
The room was first-class, what we expected at such a resort.
We passed on 6the "International buffet" dinner, due to afore-mentioned GI issues, but had a small dinner at the onsite Chinese restaurant, food was excellent.
All in all, my only regret was that we didn't stay a few extra days!

The hotel is very nice, good location in front of the grand mosque, however there is some new building construction so the view is half obstructed, the food was really good especially on fish night the dinner buffet was very tasty and the quality of the food was amazing!
Toiletries should be upgraded, especially toilet paper was and still is quite poor quality, also they charged for coffee at the dinner buffet, it’s not about the price but water and coffee at least should be included in the dinner buffet like for the breakfast

Hospitality is top notch, I am just impressed with the staff. So welcoming, every person at each and every corner was smiling and so supportive.
Breakfast was too good, freshness and quality of food was too good. Pastries were so fresh, first time in any resort I saw, they were serving totally fresh juice in breakfast and even u can ask fresh juice of your choice. Variety of eggs , overall wonderful. Just very less option for vegetarian, though I am not vegetarian , still just a thought.
Complimentary water and cooling box at beach/Pool was nice gesture.
Little seepage smell in washroom, but it wasn’t a big issue. Overall it was clean and we didn’t complaint about it, if we might have complained they must have done something about it.
Also they can add some play area or activity for kids.

A lovely spacious room with the most comfortable bed and pillows just as I like them. A scrumptious breakfast that lived up to expectations! Friendly staff. Perfectly located room that allowed us to walk out and enjoy the pool and beach. We will be back.

The Breakfast Buffet was amazing and the daily choice for Indian and Oriental changed giving variety and choice. The staff were helpful and were always attentive.
The front desk staff were great and accommodated our early arrival and late departure requests. Housekeeping staff were always available when requested to attend to the room when required.
The pool area and gym staff were helpful as always.
The extreme heat at this time of the year that we visited.

Shangri-La Qaryat Al Beri in Abu Dhabi is a swan of a hotel—aged, graceful, and steeped in its former glory. When it opened in 2007, it was likely the pinnacle of luxury in the UAE, and much of that grandeur still lingers. The architecture is elegant, the grounds expansive, and a 15-minute boat ride through the hotel’s private canals evokes a sense of serene opulence. The setting feels more like a palace than a resort.
What truly sets it apart, however, is its soul. Many of the staff have been here since day one, and their loyalty reflects a deep connection to the place. This is not a trendy, Instagrammable newcomer—it’s timeless, dignified, and confident in its character. A hidden gem for those who value atmosphere, scale, and enduring hospitality over fleeting glamour.
But so is the passage of time.
In our room, we found a wall-mounted volume knob for a sound system that no longer worked. The telephone was clearly from another decade, and there were no sockets by the bed. The hotel had clearly been ahead of the curve when it installed USB charging ports directly in the walls, but now, we found ourselves walking around the room looking for USB-C—without luck.
The decor, while still carrying a certain Middle Eastern charm, felt dated. It wasn’t about taste—it was about wear. The colors, materials, and furnishings all seemed frozen in time. A careful update could easily preserve the hotel’s identity while restoring its impact.
The clearest sign of decline, though, was at breakfast.
There was no host stand, no clear system—just a quiet build-up of guests at the entrance, all glancing at each other to confirm we were, in fact, in a queue. We waited over five minutes before anyone acknowledged us. When we were finally shown to a table, it hadn’t been cleared. The person who seated us said they’d “make it nice,” then left. We waited again, until someone came back with cutlery and napkins.
Later, one of us asked for a latte and received a cappuccino instead. We mentioned the mistake, but nothing happened. At the self-serve water station, there were no glasses, and the jug was empty. Again, we had to ask someone to refill it. The staff were friendly, but overstretched. The mood in the breakfast area was tense and under-managed.
Individually, these are small things. But when experienced together, they reveal something deeper.
Shangri-La Qaryat Al Beri is still a hotel with soul. The layout, the setting, the staff—they’re all assets. But the hotel now needs attention. Not reinvention, not a rebrand—just a thoughtful investment in maintenance, service culture, and momentum. It deserves that. And so do the guests who still choose to come back.

The ambience, the chain of hotel having stayed in many worldwide, everything is thought of for accommodating all guests, extremely clean with all great facilities.
The only downside with this hotel is the gym is a little too far away , could be a lot better if it was structured inside of the hotel.
I have stayed here on many occasions and that’s the only place it falters.

Old and beautiful architecture facing Abu Dhabi Mosque. Our deluxe room with a direct access to the garden and the pool was so great. The buffet there was the best I ever saw!
Perhaps the location a bit far from the city center.

Very nice pool and massive breakfast selection
Feels a bit run down, not the luxury experience I would have expected for Shangri-La... Like the terrace around the pool was kinda messy with a decoration of fruit that had gone bad... Not very elegant clientel

The staff is truly exceptional! Most helpful, proactive and with excellent communication between departments, shifts and colleagues. They go extra mile, so we felt so well taken care of.
Loved that our room had a balcony and a sea view!
Location was perfect for our purposes - not that far from the airport and Yas Island and just 10 min to Shaikh Zayed Mosque - marvelous! And they have a beautiful view on it (the mosque).
Would be nice to have a coffee machine in the room, but it isn’t normally provided for our room category there.
