Dreadful. Staff and management lied and avoided disclosing the truth. Deceitful and patronizing.

Location

On arrival I was offered to upgrade at a high floor for an extra fee. They did not disclose that 24th floor was right underneath an event room which was extremely noisy and furniture was moved very late at night 11pm to 1am. There was also construction site or some major repair on the 25th floor in the staircase shaft that they even denied hapenning when I called to inquire what was hapenning to make such tremendous noise well into midnight. Nobody would pick up the internal phone and I had to call the external hotel line using my mobile. They even pretended that there might have been an issue with the phones instead of admitting that they simply don’t pick up calls from hotel rooms. Only the concierge desk worked well once you approached the desk. Again it was impossible to get through to them via an internal call.

Good cost benefit, but you need to compromise.

The location, service, and quality of breakfast are the main positives. Hotel is in a area full of restaurants and very close to the park. All staff were very attentive, especially at breakfast area (Carlos, Delia, Daniel, Ismair, etc). Quality of the breakfast was very good as well - diverse and tasty.

There is only one restaurant for dinner, compared to the other local hotels with many. To make matters worse, the restaurant is almost open air with the glass window and "tarp" blocking some of the air and cold, but not all. I disliked so much that went out for dinner every night. Cold ambience that makes your food cold fast?! Nope. Additionally, the menu is very short. Even worse for room service choices. Room decoration is up to taste, but not my prefered.

Great location, weird rooms

Great location.

Rooms are weird with window only in the bathroom. Design was cold and unwelcoming. At checkout they said we took a bottle of water from the fridge, which we didn’t, and I had to argue about it for ten minutes. This is unbelievable at a luxury property.

A good choice in Polanco

The location is simply great, in the center of Polanco, the stuff was absolutely lovely, the rooftop bar is really nice, and the room was very spacious. They have free snacks in the lift areas which is incredible nice. Our driver Enrique was absolutely amazing, we recommend him completely. The hotel can book him for you, he can be your tour guide and be your driver around Mexico, he was great to us.

The hotel rooms feel a little bit old, you can hear someone showering upstairs or next to you. The prices in the restaurants and bars are very overpriced

Not your regular W hotel

Comfortable rooms, good facilities (big jacuzzi), small gym and lounging area.

The hidden charges for ordering room service. 2 charges that aren’t mentioned on the bill when you order room service, but will show on the detailed statement when checking out. It’s ridiculous to have charges for ordering room service-it defeats the purpose of staying at a reputable hotel like the W.

The outdated decor, layout and furniture of the room. Not enough natural light. Heavy doors of the toilet and dark shower. The main door was often locking up. The water flow in the shower and the faucet was not good.

Black out for the room did not work , it left a big opening in a room filled with mirrors that reflected light all across the room starting at 5am. shower handle did not work properly and it was hard to find the right temperature for the water.

I forgot my passport and documents in the safety box upon my check out. It was found by the room maid and was kept for me by the staff to be picked up next day, including money. Speaks volumes of the employees, staff and management.

A very well done, very comfortable hotel! Easy to do, easy to handle, incredible people and service, plus the location is out of this world … in the best part of CDMX; Polanco, Lincoln Park and Masaryk Avenue. My room was just amazing: Ultra full Mini-Bar, closet, sound system, very fast wi-fi, one-touch air conditioning, size, sink and WC just great, the view … wow.
