The breakfast had a good variety and was well stocked, even when we arrived for a very late breakfast
Our room wasn’t set up for us when we arrived. We had to pull the sofa bed out and find the pillows etc. there was also a sort of coffee table in the room which was impossible to push out the way so we just had to try and negotiate our way around it once the sofa bed was sorted. Would have been better to remove it from the room when THEY set it up rather than us.

Convenient for my journey. Safe parking for the car. Clean hotel throughout with excellent staff who proved to be very helpful.
We both did not like the food, very poor standard for a 4 star hotel in France.

Good location. Quiet good food pleasant staff and surroundings

The location was great for the route we were doing.
The hotel on arrival, the visual was pleasant however the room had a smell of dogs.
The breakfast wasn’t good, the selection was poor, lots of things had ran out and were not replaced, the coffee machine didn’t have milk, not a good selection of fruit or cereal. We felt it wasn’t very good value for money at all.

Location easy to find. Bar and restaurant areas very well decorated and laid out. Room fulfilled our requirements. Staff helpful. I would use again. Chartres is a very pleasant city.
Service at breakfast was acceptable, but being a national holiday perhaps short on staff. Two members looking after the restaurant were kept very busy replenishing food. Long walk into the centre really need to use car.

The hotel was lovely great room spacious bar pool area good
The restaurant in particular the menu choices no English menu and it was difficult to translate the dishes into sense. Beef was a type of carpaccio raw accompaniment and burnt fries! Milanese Escalope was too thick deep fried tough and inedible! Vegetable tian a soggy overcooked mess
No staff were helpful to assist save one who tried to translate. No near by other restaurants so will not stay again! Very expensive food we couldn’t eat

Lovely hotel, located within a 5-10min drive from chartes. Hotel staff were helpful. Great play area within the hotel which was great.
Rooms a little dated but not a huge problem.

I often stay in Novotel as a 1 night transit stop during long road trips with my kids. The rooms are always well appointed and clean, the wifi works well and the family rooms provide plenty of space for both me and my kids. The kids areas are full of fun activities including an Xbox 360, teddies with a dress-up station, a table football (babyfoot) and probably more that I am forgetting.
The staff were very friendly and the chef made special accommodation for my daughters dietary requirements which was much appreciated.
The pillows aren't comfortable. It seems to be the case in every location and it's always the main thing that bothers me - genuinely if possible consider bringing your own. Also it would be nice to have chromecasts in the rooms instead of terrestrial TV. Not a huge deal but it seems to be a direction other chains are going in.

Breakfast items were varied and enjoyable. The room was well marshalled by welcoming staff. Our room was comfortable and fairly well maintained, although it felt a little airless. We were both very satisfied with the quality of the dinner we had on the evening of our arrival. We both found the interior full of very engaging elements of interior design.
We experienced some minor difficulties because we speak little French. Inevitably, this can create a sense of isolation for some guests. We both accept that it would be unreasonable to expect your entire staff to be fluently multi-lingual. However, you may be able to develop a system whereby such problems may be referred to other staff with the necessary abilities to be resolved, rather than having both guest and staff member floundering when thrust into such systems. Can I make it clear that when these difficulties arose, your staff were patient and good humoured in trying to deal with them.

Location, restaurant, comfortable bed.
Shower had little power, menu had no option of being in English.

Even though the pool wasn’t in opposition we had a great time. It is very bespoke in the restaurant offering raclette which my children didn’t like the smell as it’s very overpowering. But if you’re not with kids I’m sure it’s most enjoyable! I missed out.

Location was super convenient.
Fairly expensive for this level of accomdation and breakfast @ €19.50 per head was really expensive for what it was - very basic

Very helpful and pleasant staff.
Very comfortable rooms.
Hotel is dog friendly,so am I, but irresponsible dog owners should be educated to not leave their dogs unattended in their room !!! Dog was barking and howling until 22.30!! Staff offered to give us another room, but it is the dog owners who are at fault.

Air con didn’t seem to work too well but wasn’t uncomfortable.

The common areas were really nice, very modern and with great entertainment for the family - table tennis, table football, gaming, play area as well as swimming pool. The restaurant and lounge area had a really nice design feel.
The restaurant was great, but the menu choice was a bit limited for evening meal and portion sizes were small for the salads and pasta considering the price (and the name 'Grande Salade'!). But tasty and the staff team were so friendly and service overall was brilliant.

A lady called Maude was very helpful on the evening we arrived, a very nice lady.
The restaurant and drinks were very expensive, one of the male waiters was a bit abrupt and seemed to be rushing people during their meal.

Perfect location, near the highway. This is not a central hotel, it’s great if you’re driving but not really nice if you’re visiting Chartres.
The lobby has been refurbished recently and it gives a fresh look to the hotel.
As usual with Novotel, beds are great.
Great breakfast buffet, lots of choice of good products.
The swimming pool is undergoing some maintenance work and was closed during our stay. We only learned this after booking the night. Not a massive issue but a swim would have been greatly appreciated after our 10 hr drive.
The restaurant has a whole new card, with a lot of fine products and ingredients, which is appealing. However the hotel positions itself on a family segment - not having fries or anything “kids friendly” is a big gamble :)
The ravioles were tasty but a bit soggy.

Location
The restaurant is usually top notch with good food and one of the reasons we stay at Novotel Chartre on our journey back to the UK, however, on this particular occasion, the menu was poor and the portions served were no more than child portions !

The receptionist went the extra mile to ensure we were able to charge our electric car. The hotel was chosen specifically for its charging point, crucial for our journey to the South of France. I would suggest however that in view of the trend towards many many more electric vehicles on the road, the hotel or its chain should consider increasing the number of charging points and ensuring they are of the rapid kind.
