A lovely quiet location, close to the centre of Chartres, but without the crowds of tourists

The house is a beautiful old manor house in lovely condition. The location is amazing, a short walk from the centre of town down the hill. The apartment was super clean, and very spacious. Our host was wonderful, and went above and beyond the normal, when I accidentally left my watch there.

Very little we refused to stay in it

Almost everything. It felt like a hostel not a place to stay. It was cheaply furnished and did not really match the photos. Not in a great part of town either.

A good value property close to Chartres

Overall very good value for such a close location to Chartres. No on-site reception but very clear instructions sent on procedure so absolutely no problems locating keys and checking in. Good follow up messages to make sure we hadn't had problems. Imposing property with good parking though interior has been remodelled to provide simple unadorned bedroom with large modern bathroom and well equipped communal lounge, kitchen and indoor and outdoor dining areas.

Minor issue - in room written details of wifi code were somewhat difficult to interpret (much clearer in communal areas).

Great location to get into Chartres town centre and free parking. Good room and excellent bathroom and shower.

A pleasant surprise.

First time for us to stay in this type of accommodations... Shared like habitation with other people. Felt like being at home, very nice living room, confortable dining room, FULLY equipped kitchen, even dishwasher, rare. Pleasant room, spotlessly clean. Good bathroom... everything was A1. Extremely quiet place for a good night sleep.

The house was a little too difficult to reach even with GPS and a little too far from city center. BUT it is acceptable. Difficult to reach the owner, nobody lives in the premises, all the mails from US to them were rejected as spam by either Booking or other technical problems.

Convenient accommodation with good facilities on the edge of Chartres.

The property had good facilities- fridge, cooker, coffee maker, utensils etc. Also a separate sitting/dining room with microwave. Pleasant outlook and about 20 minute walk to the centre of Chartres.

The wooden tread stairs to the 1st floor had no hand-rail, which I found slightly hazardous.

Pleasant but overpriced for what we get.

The Manor itself is nice, Lots of parking space

Facilities : shower was broken. It would be good to have a box of tissues in the bedroom, as well as some basic toiletry things (soap/shampoo) Security : room keys are not really fire compliant (if we lose the keys at night we can't escape the fire). One door remains open the entire day, easily accessible from the outside world as the property is not fully gated. As the bedroom doors are protected by a simple key, and depends on the collaboration of all the guests, it's not sufficient. Breakfast: limited options and some are dried/expired Too pricey for what we get (should be around 40/50max for the double bedroom)

Great potential, but some details need improvement

The room under the roof was spacious, clean, quiet, and had a relaxing view - at least from one window. Nice communal breakfast.

Communication with the host was somewhat limited, we didn't get the message with check-in information and had to call him standing in front of a closed door. At least he responded immediately. The biggest issue however was the lack of airconditioning - under the roof that's quite an issue in summer. To make things worse there was a sticker under the bathroom window asking for it not to be opened, with very little airflow possible. We had a hard time getting to sleep. Location is really outside Chartres, but then again it's only about a 20 minute walk to the cathedral...

Misrepresented and disappointing.

Quite a good location. Easy parking. Owner very welcoming, but he has a lot to learn about running a chambre d' hotes . Good modern shower in ensuite.

No signage on the street to show its name. As we drove in, greeted by a straggling line of washing across a vastly overgrown and unkempt 'garden '. Had to pick a way through the weeds. WiFi not available and TV had very poor reception on the few channels available. The whole place looked like a 'work in progress' - no niceties at all. Bare light bulbs in bedrooms. Shutters rusty and in need of a coat of paint. Odd assortment of towels and bedding. Needed to be made clear that, while theres a kitchen for the use of guest, breakfast was not provided. I don't consider a few coffee or tea pods , a pot of jam and dry biscottes as being a 'help yourself breakfast ' .It was pretty noisy throughout the night because the house is right on a junction. After initial greeting, didn't see our host again. Fortunately the other guests were nice and we muddled through together.

Fernando was friendly, helpful and personable. My room was clean and the bathroom spot on.

I would like my bed to look good. The duvet cover was a mess, very crinkled not ironed, the pillows were old with different covers on and just piled on the bed. It looked as if somebody just got out of my bed. It seems a new venture, so no wall decoration. Very bare.

More like a hostel

We had 3 persons so the two large adjoining rooms and huge private bath were perfect. We were the only guests and had the entire house to ourselves. The hosts had a personal situation so they couldn't great us but made arrangements so we could let ourselves in. Free parking was on-site. It was clean.

It was difficult to find. The triple room was on the 3rd floor (in France you would call it 2nd floor) and we had to haul our luggage up a tight staircase. Also, wifi didn't work on the 3rd floor.. Breakfast was supposed to be included, but not the type of breakfast you typically get at a B&B. We were offered some items from the pantry self-serve.This place was more of a hostel than a B&B. So if that is your expectation, it was actually good. As far as a B&B, we were disappointed.

Komfortable Unterkunft um mit Hund durch Frankreich zu reisen

Perfekte Lage um Chartres zu besuchen und eine Übernachtung auf dem Weg von Deutschland in die Bretagne und zurück zu haben. Die Zimmer sind sehr sauber.

Die zweite Übernachtung auf unserem Rückweg war in einem Zimmer zur Straße hin. Bei geöffnetem Fenster ist es da leider sehr laut.
