Excellent Hotel in Every Way

I travelled in France for four weeks and this was the best hotel in every respect. The most delightful breakfast and my room made me feel like I was Amelie. Excellent warm and friendly hosts and in the best part of the old town.

We liked it, especially as Avignon in winter has a nice calm vibe compared to the hot crowds of summer.

A lovely old house in the middle of the old city; close to the astonishing Palais des Papes and surrounded by a maze of streets, lanes and squares. Our room was spotless and everything worked. EVERYTHING. Good heating (we were there in January). We recommend the breakfast, as much of it is homemade. Stéphane and his wife really know their job: friendly, flexible when it’s possible, clearly efficient. I failed to ask for a ground-floor room when I booked, so my no-longer-agile wife was horrified at the winding stairs. Stéphane swapped rooms around in 15 seconds and all was good. One of the nicest small hotels we can remember.

Historic charm with modern amenities

Beautiful, very well maintained building right in the historic area. The host gave us a wonderful orientation to the city complete with restaurant recommendations. There were plenty of electrical outlets and the bathroom was heated, which we haven’t encountered in our other accommodations in France. Room was quiet and breakfast was excellent.

Wonderful stay!

The hôtel situation is perfect. Right in the middle of the historical district (parking Palais des papes 5 min. Away). The host, Stephane, is super kind, very knowledgeable about the area and very helpful for visit recommendations. The room (#1) was cute, cosy, well equipped and very quiet. The homemade breakfast was amazing.

Comfortable stay in a quiet town in the South of France.

The room was beautiful and comfortable. Excellent bedroom and bathroom amenities. I felt really welcomed by the staff; they were all super kind and helpful. Delicious breakfast.

Lovely, convenient hotel in Avignon

Lovely small hotel centrally located in a pedestrianised area of Avignon, but an easy ten minute walk from Avignon centre train station. The hotel staff are really helpful, excellent communication before our arrival, and lots of useful information while we were there. Pleasantly warm (we visited in the winter). Breakfast was extensive and good quality - lots of homemade cakes!

In our room there was quite a lot of external light at night time.

The staff was great. The beds were very comfortable.

We were two floors up, so it would have been convenient to have an elevator. However the staff carried our bags up for us so it was okay.

Comfortable and relaxing stay in the heart of Avignon Old Town.

Great location an easy walk to the railway station and close to the Papal Palace. Close to lovely squares, good cafes and restaurants and all the great sights. The apartment was spacious and comfortable and the kitchen was equipped to heat food or cook a simple meal. The washing machine was a bonus and towels replaced on request. The owners were very welcoming and helpful with advice on Avignon.

A great hotel in middle of Avignon.

The hotel was in a great location. The gentleman who checked us in was very thorough about the building, its history, and how everything worked. For such an old building it was beautifully kept and had modern amenities. Though we did not take part in the hotel breakfast, i wish we had. It looked like truly genuine French breakfast.

A hotel for the fit and nimble.

A great location, close to landmarks and restaurants. The young man on reception for the first couple of days was very pleasant and helpful.

It’s a quirky hotel and may not be for everyone. Reception is manned for some of the time. We knew when we arrived early that our room would not be ready but it was disconcerting to have no one on the desk and to have to leave our bags in an open area. There is a code to enter the front door but it still feels weird to have to return your key to a hook, that other guests can access, each time we went out. The most challenging part were the narrow winding stairs we had to negotiate with our bags to get to our room on the top floor. The lovely young man helped going up. Coming down is even harder. On our check out day we asked for assistance which was not forthcoming. The man on duty told us he was too busy until after 11 which was too late for us.

We were all in our 70's and it was difficult to get to our rooms and also meet in the lobby.

Location - Excellent. Room size - A little too small Breakfast - No variety

Steep staircase inside the hotel with no help getting luggage to room. Absolutely no lobby facilities where you could sit down and have a cup of coffee or talk to a friend when there is no one at the front desc. The lobby is locked with no possibility to sit down anywhere in the hotel before going up to our rooms.

Great location.

We stayed in an apartment and the beds were rock hard. I asked for a mattress topper and they would not accommodate that request. Also the shower head was a sprayer . It also was not as close to the train station as I thought so you ah e to take a cab

Clement, the housekeeping team and the owner were just amazing and welcoming. The property and room were super charming and comfortable. Lots of restaurants and bars nearby.

Loved everything about this place, but be advised that if you have mobility issues ensure you get a first floor room (entry level) otherwise you need to carry your bag(s) and go up and down narrow winding stairs. For us that was charming but for others it could be difficult.

Lovely stay and can't wait to go back.

Location was excellent. In the city center, but down a quiet street. Easily walkable to everything. Bedroom was clean and comfortable. Bathroom was also clean and spacious. Hostess explained all the nuances of the place and gave great recommendations.

Parking is not at the hotel. Had I read the confirmation/welcome email thoroughly I would have known to park at the city garage and walk to the hotel.

Lovely, welcoming owners who couldn’t have been more helpful. Our room was spotless, spacious and comfortable. The public areas could do with some air con and a bit of redecoration. But overall a very nice start to our holiday.

Clean convenient hotel within walled city of Avignon and fairly priced.

I purchased an upgrade to get a room in the first floor since lugging our luggage up the stairs did not interest me. The room was very clean, quiet and convenient. The english speaking desk manager was very helpful.

Room key is plainly accessible to any of the guests since it hangs on the wall and there may not be anyone on the desk. Seems like a security risk. However only registered guests can enter the hotel through secure locked doors.

Think hotel is a bit pricey

Location is close to train station. Staff was nice and kind to show us around the amenities inside the room and helped carry the luggage. He also reminded the hot water will take longer time before all cold water runs out which takes a longer time.

They didn’t change towels despite the towels were wet and on floor. The room is supposed to hang up on the wall when leaving the hotel which made me uncomfortable, because other patronages could go in to your room.

Beautiful apartment.

We were offered a large 1 bedroom apartment with a full kitchen. Very spacious and well located in the old city near numerous attractions, including the Palais des Papes and the medieval Le Pont d'Avignon. Highly recommended.

Quaint hotel in the heart of Avignon

Location is perfect and the room was very nice. The people at the property were very helpful and accommodating with helping us navigate the city and find reservations.

If driving in, it is very difficult to navigate the inner city streets and find a parking garage. There are no elevators, you have to carry luggage up steps to your room. No smart TV's in room.
