Merchant Quarters Apartments

The apartment was very spacious. The view was of the city but mainly the car park opposite. Lovely outdoor terrace.

the apartment smelt overtly of air freshner and we realised that the rooms couldn't be aired as the only window was the door to the terrace. The wi-fi was awful and so we ended up going to the hotel next door to work - which defeated the object of staying in an apartment.

Apartment was okay, bed was terrible, no parking had van didn’t fit in car park.

Good location, as my son lives 5 minutes away. Easy to find, clean and tidy.

Only dislike/disappointed and just my personal thing is that there was no milk for a drink in the morning if I had known I would’ve brought my own. But that’s just me.

Great location. Good size appartment and bathrooms. Balcony with view of offices, city and the Strand. All necessary amenities. Great as a base to discover Liverpool.

Appartment was very tired looking, doors and been painted but two different shades which looked cheap. Worktop in kitchen was cracked and marked. Furniture was dated and tired looking. Second room had no blinds so bright lights from multi storey shone through window all night.vey warm but there was a fan to get some air flow.

Bed was comfortable.

Apartment is tired and worn. No soap in bathroom, 1 toilet roll. TV worked sporadically due to damaged Ariel connection. My worst stay amongst many in Liverpool.

The apartment was not well cleaned - the floors were generally grimy and there were a lot of long blond hairs around the place. None of the WiFi networks worked for more than a couple of seconds (on either apple or Android devices). Dead batteries in the remote control made watching TV challenging. The dishwasher didn't seem to work (lights suggested a water feed issue) and with no plug for the sink, washing up by hand was difficult. With only 1 set of cutlery per person (one knife, fork, plate etc), one wine glass each etc, some level of washing up was needed even for a short stay. It was incredibly hot - unfortunately the balcony overlooking the road stank of cat urine presumably from the unit next door, so we couldn't open the door without the smell coming in. There were also a lot of cigarette butts and ash on the balcony so previous guests evidently hadn't respected the No Smoking instructions. There is a fan somewhere by the bathroom/door to the unit with a consistent droning noise and no way to turn it off. We were only there 2 nights so put up with the above. Any longer and we would have called the owners to address the issues directly.

I absolutely love this property that I keep extending the staff are so friendly on phone nothing a problem I even extend last minute and there ok with it if have availability defo one to come to if looking for somewere local to the docks Gawjus property amd even have a balcony defo recommend

Location

On the way up to the property you enter a lift which has seen far better days and feels like a potential safety hazard. From other reviews I can see it has broken down before. You then leave the lift and are met with a stain-ridden hallway on your way to the apartment door. Upon entering the apartment things appear tidy but upon further inspection it is apparent the accommodation is being minimally cleaned and maintained. During our stay we found a dishwasher full of a pool of stagnant yellow water which smelt foul and meant we couldn’t use it. The fridge door and plates/cups were chipped and had not been replaced. In the pricing room area there were large scuffs and marks under the glass table and the blinds were dirty with what looked like dark stains. The tv was stuck in a showroom mode so every few minutes would display screen settings over a large proportion of the screen which meant we struggled to watch anything. To make this matter worse, the tv remote was not working and there were no spare batteries provided when the staff were informed. The accommodation advertises WiFi and yet throughout our entire stay we could not connect to any WiFi and the apartment was a mobile data dead spot even with 4G and 5G meaning neither myself or my partner could use our phones, watch tv or contact anyone easily. Upon checking the balcony which was dirty and the tiles needed cleaning, we found cigarette ends which hadn’t been removed. In the bedroom, we saw dirt on the floor and crumbs near the bedside table which was also damaged with wood splintering and large chunks missing. The throw had two large holes and the pillow was falling apart. The bedroom windows cannot be opened perhaps due to a building safety regulation but there was no fan provided even in the heatwave meaning myself and my partner struggled to sleep. The bed is on wheels which meant it moved anytime you moved or sat/lay on it.

Everything apartment was disgusting

Good size, interesting location by museums and Beatles statue,Within walking distance of good restaurants - the Ivy and Bacaro. Good view of the Echo building !

Small things eg fridge turned off on arrival so ice had melted, loo not flushed when we arrived so flat smelt, no mirrors with lights anywhere to help with shaving and make up, no tea towels. One blind in bedroom had no chain to raise and lower. Lift broke during stay- did not know where to report as emergency instructions inside lift.‘Instructions’ for heating, oven and on taxi services, and locality would be helpful plus instructions not to ask for help in Malmaison Hotel as staff cannot help (although did let us up to 6th floor to walk into apartments section and go up 4 flights of stairs.)

Only one thing I would change is the bed is very small and mattress is very uncomfortable. No washing mashing

Central to all tourist attractions. View of the Merseyside river. 2 bed apartment comfortable Great for family alternative option to hotel room.

No discount for the parking. Double bed was on the small side. (If I had to be really picky)

The property was nice and comfortable

There was some traffic noise coming from outside the bedroom windows and you can hear people walking and talking outside the bedroom window so that may take a little bit hard to sleep at night. It will be nice to get some bedroom curtains to block out the sunlight.

Amazing location and beautiful apartment

The bells from the church so early in the morning was a startle but then so beautiful to hear as they ring out across the city.

There is plenty of room and clean & tidy. Easy access.

No dishcloth or soap in the bathroom, which would have been useful. The bedroom smelled of stale cigarettes. Bed very small but was comfy.

Really good value, awesome apartment. Will 100% book again when I’m next in liverpool
