Great place next to one of Newquay's many beaches.

Great location, by Fistral Beach. Very dog friendly. Clean, comfortable room with a fridge and excellent WiFi. Large comfy bed. A dog bed and bowl provided by the hotel. Good food in the restaurant. Free parking.

The spa and pool area is small, but adequate.

Sea Views 🌊🐚

This is a fantastically located hotel! The beach is a stones throw across a quiet road and the views from there rooms and the front of the property are amazing. We slept with the windows open at night and could just listen to the sea. We had a family room with sea views and the bedroom was huge. An L-Shape, with the bed in the main section of the room, and the kids bunk beds in the recess of the room. There were beanbags for the kids to chill out on in front of the TV. Tea and coffee in room was good, and there was a kids squash and hot chocolate station as well. There were adults and kids fluffy robes and slippers provided for when you used the swimming pool, which was really convenient. In addition to the generous number of towels provided. Staff were really welcoming and friendly. There was a bedtime milk and cookie stall set out in the evening, and they even found a charger for us to use when we realised we had forgotten ours. It’s geared up for families and beach activities. The swimming pool was a great addition and the kids loved it. There was a little cinema (which we weren’t able to use because of a private function, but poked our heads in quickly before the viewing and it looked sweet). There’s a little, indoor soft play just off the main restaurant, and outdoor adventure play area and lots of little cubby holes for games, books, table football, and pool. Breakfast was plentiful and very nice. Dogs seemed welcome.

Perhaps because it’s a hotel that encourages dogs and water sports, our room had an unmistakable tang of something. Slightly sweaty or wet-dog like. Not terrible, but enough that I opened the windows when we arrived to give the room an air. It seems as though the carpets need a good shampoo maybe. The bathroom was quite small, and the decor quite dated, in comparison to the size of the room. There have obviously been changes made to the bathroom at some point with shower, as the previous fitting were visible on the wall still and had rusted. The sealant around the bath had lifted and black mold was visible along it and in some areas of the grouting/corners of the bath. Again, it wasn’t awful but there is no excuse for this in a hotel. Bit of mold and mildew remover, and new sealant, needed. The pool area was a bit down at heel and needed a freshen up and someone coming regularly to given it a check/clean during the day. We visited out of season and paid a great price for a single night stay, family of 4 B&B, so this made these things a minor issue.

Fantastic value hotel in a stunning location

Superb location right on the seafront. Wonderful facilities and value for menu. Breakfast was amazing.

The place was very busy with families and quite noisy. Very little control over children and they were running up and down the hallway from 7am. Appreciate this wasn’t the hotel’s fault.

The room was very clean. Enough towels and a great selection of teas and coffee in the room. Even some shortbread biscuits which was a great little bonus. The property has amazing views and is a great location for waking and close to the harbour. 20 min walk. No problem parking but I can imagine this would be a problem in the summer.

The pool is extremely small. This is not clear on the website. One stroke and you are on the other side. The sauna is also very small. The jacuzzi did not look very clean. There is a draft coming in from the windows which can make it very cold at night. The dining area windows are also very old and do not shut properly.

We loved the location, the facilities and how welcoming it was for children as this is a massive anxiety for us looking to stay anywhere and exceeded our expectations.

The only real downfall about the property was the staff members. There always seemed to be lots of staff milling about but no one overly engaging or covering all areas. We often found we were having to get attention or wait 15-20 minutes for a drink at the bar yet several members of staff in sight having their own chit chat or our plates being left obviously empty without being cleared while they stood behind the bar, right next to our table, talking about the nights out, uni experience or recreational hobbies or on their phones.

Lovely family break, not perfect hotel but very good, especially for young children

Brilliant location, right on the sea front! Room was huge for family of 4. Lovely indoor and outdoor play areas for the kids. Really good breakfast!!

Parking was a nightmare. We parked at the hotel - it said ‘reserved’ assuming for guests. We were wrong, we had to pre book parking, therefore needed to move the car and with 3 and 5 yr old this was far from ideal. Whilst the room was spacious the bathroom was poor - cold tap took a good few minutes to run cold, there was very little shower pressure. Could do with an upgrade.

Only the best!

The views are amazing from the rooms and the restaurant/reception area. It's across the road from the best beach in Cornwall. The food is fantastic as always. The staff are incredibly friendly and accommodating. The whole place is spotlessly clean and smells lovely! It's our 4th holiday to Newquay from Kent and we stay here every time with our son since he was 3, he's now nearly 6 and still loves the hotel so much. Claudia is his most favorite person and one of the reasons he begs us to stay at the same hotel every time. It's our number one choice for summer or even Christmas as it's beautiful! Will always be coming back every year! Thank you esplanade staff!

I liked how the staff went above n beyond for me and my son and the views were spectacular and so close to the beach.. definitely go again sometime and kept people informed at front desk when the pool was back open oh and the channels were Disney and prime and itvx what's not to like about Disney

Perfect beach getaway.

We ate in the restaurant several times. The food was delicious, however, we had to wait an excessive time for our food despite it being quiet. We booked two rooms, one was very clean but the other was rather dusty and could have done with a more thorough clean for the money we paid.

Small room, good price/value

The hotel is at a great location and the breakfast was good. It is already an older building but they have done some renovations. A small pool and sauna available which was nice.

The standard room we booked did not come with AC the room was hot. This became a problem as you had to keep the window open but seagulls were super loud in the night so you had to close it and then it was too hot. The room is really small so a bigger room is recommended.

Overall a pleasant stay

Really great location for Fistral beach. For those with a car it's also close enough to the town centre. Sadly lift was not working during our stay so made it challenging with luggage. Although they did arrange for staff help with this and called before our arrival to let us know lift was out of service. Daily and prompt room cleaning service. Staff were generally friendly.

Was not aware until we arrived that a £50 per night deposit was required at check-in. There were some issues with releasing the hold on this at checkout, so not the smoothest of processes. As a solo traveller, would say facilities are more geared to families and those with kids. The picture used to advertise the single room did set me up for slight disappointment but the room was pleasant enough, it did the job

Excellent choice for a treat.

Huge, beautifully-appointed room with stunning view across Fistral Beach. Excellent tea and coffee provisions. Lovely bathroom with stand-alone bath, again with a view. Lovely toiletries. Very good food at dinner. Impressive pool area.

After a spell of very hot weather, room was very warm and a bit stuffy, even with balcony door open throughout our stay. Service at dinner was a little sporadic!
