An unforgettable stay in the heart of Oia with stunning views, great service, and total comfort.

Our stay at Oia Mares Villas was amazing. The location is perfect — right in the heart of Oia with stunning views of the caldera and sunset, which we could enjoy from the private terrace. We booked the Honeymoon Cave with Hot tub. The room was spacious, spotless, and very comfortable. The hot tub was always at the ideal temperature. Reception was extremely helpful with reservations and local tips. A special mention to the staff member who carried our luggage all the way from the taxi drop-off and over the stairs — such a big help and much appreciated!

There wasn’t anything we didn’t like, but be aware there are quite a few steps to reach the property — something to keep in mind if you have mobility issues. It also would’ve been nice to have the bottled water replaced daily.

Perfect apart from the point above

One of the two nights we were stayed - the roof top was privatised for a private event which meant we could not use it to see the sunset... which is the primary reason we booked this hotel. Plus mgt did not inform us in advance so we cold make other plans - it was on arrival at sunset.. that the actual couple let us know...

Amazing views in a private setting

Views were simply amazing from the location especially in a private setting away from all the crowds – can stay here watching beautiful Santorini sunset everyday! Room was clean and spacious. The heated jacuzzi was so relaxing again with great views. Breakfast was ample and communication was also efficient throughout the stay. Private transfers with the porter’s help on luggage were definitely essential too.

For the price charged I would expect at least that some basic supplies can be better stocked (iron boards, towels, tissue/toilet papers, etc). Not the hotel’s fault but the steps getting in and out everyday could get increasingly challenging depending on the length of the stay.

With views to die for and a warm welcome from the staff this is a first class holiday destination.

The suite was well presented and the daily room service was very good. The breakfast by the pool each day offered a big variety of freshly cooked food and fresh fruit and cereals and was always kept tidy and topped up. All of the staff that we interacted with were friendly and courteous. The view from our room was 2nd to none with uninterrupted views of the Caldera. We weren't expecting quite so many steps from the road down to the suite but we managed We're both in our mid 60's). I don't think this would be a good location for the elderly or physically challenged however. Our boat was considerably delayed due to bad weather but our designated transfer driver and porter stayed back until after midnight to make sure we arrived safely to our suite. If you are a cat lover you'll LOVE this pace as there are a lot of stray cats and kittens to amuse you and give cuddles to.

I cannot think of anything that I didn't like about where we stayed. There was an aroma of cat urine sometimes in some places but as there are many stray cats around it's hardly surprising and not the fault of the establishment or any reflection of their management. The cats by the way are also very friendly and although they are strays they are fed by the locals on a daily basis. They do like to visit at breakfast though in the hopes that they might get lucky with some cold meat, yoghurt or egg yolk!

Disappointing Honeymoon Experience

Clean space, porter service was helpful. Excellent location

We booked a “honeymoon suite” at this hotel to celebrate our marriage last week. But unfortunately the experience did not match our expectations. The photos online showed a variety of rooms, many of which looked beautiful, but the one we were given was far less impressive. Our room was set deep into the cave with almost no view, which was very disappointing for a honeymoon. We even requested a specific hot tub back in April, which should give plenty of time to accommodate. When I raised my concerns with the front desk, I was told to email reservations instead. Their reply was essentially that they were within their rights to assign us any room in the “room type,” regardless of what was pictured. Only at the end did they agree to move us the next day, and while the new room was nicer, this highlighted how much of a gamble these suites are. There is a huge difference between them, so beware—it really is luck of the draw. You can’t comfortably watch the sunset from most rooms. Instead, they suggest the rooftop terrace, but it’s crowded, with limited seating and filled with other guests. Switching rooms also revealed some surprising inconsistencies: The first room had a hotter hot tub, a coffee machine, and Netflix on the TV. The second room’s tub was lukewarm (we were told it could not be made warmer), there was no coffee machine, and the TV only had a few channels. For a 4-star resort, I also expected more basic amenities. A water refill station would be simple to provide. Instead, you can buy bottles from the hotel at €2 each, while they cost €0.50 just outside the property. Towels and robes were also very worn, with loose threads and stiff fabric from overuse. Our checkout experience was also unprofessional: 1. At 10:30pm, there was an unexpected knock on the door to drop off breakfast for the next morning—quite disruptive when we were already in bed preparing for an early start. 2.

Beautiful location for sunset views

Sunset views, loved the pool and felt as though guests could easily mingle and chat during the stay whether at breakfast or while lounging around the pool.

The steps to reach the property from the top of the town were tiring but as a 55 yo we managed quite well and felt fitter at the end of our 4 day stay. Thankfully the hotel provided a porter to carry our suitcases to and from the taxi as we couldn’t have done that ourselves.

Incredible Santorini stay!

Beautiful boutique hotel with amazing views! The staff were really lovely, breakfast was tasty and the hotel is very tranquil. Super spacious and comfy bed - we would have stayed there forever. PS: best sunset views in Santorini!

This is only one minor issue, but we did feel like one of the staff member on reception was a little too pushy with all communications with us, especially trying to arrange our departure during the course of our stay, and wanted us to have answers to our exact checkout time etc. This is however, just one person out of the many amazing rest of the staff so it was a minor inconvenience.

Perfect location in Oia with breathtaking views. The staff were courteous, friendly, and always willing to help, which made our stay even more enjoyable. We booked the transfer service to and from the property—it was smooth and absolutely worthwhile. Ammoudi Bay is just a 10-minute walk down a series of steps, and for those who find the climb back up challenging, horse rides are available. We also took the bus to Fira, where we soaked in the stunning views and enjoyed delicious local food. Thank you for making our stay truly memorable!

The location could not have been better — right in the heart of Oia, close to shops, restaurants, and everything you could possibly need, yet tucked away enough to feel peaceful and private. The room was spotlessly clean and beautifully maintained, making it a truly comfortable place to relax after exploring. Breakfast each morning was excellent, with a wide variety of fresh and delicious options to start the day right. One of the absolute highlights was the breathtaking sunset view — watching the sun sink over the caldera from here is a memory we will treasure forever. The staff were incredibly friendly, warm, and helpful, always ready with a smile and willing to assist with anything we needed. Their genuine hospitality made us feel so welcome. We stayed for our honeymoon and it was so relaxing, beautiful and romantic!

The property is gorgeous with the most beautiful view of the Caldera! The staff including George at the bar, the maids, porter and reception is very friendly and wanting to help with anything they can! Location was great walking distance to any of the great shops and restaurants. We would definitely recommend getting a room with a hot tub it’s amazing!

The steps all around can be quite tiring after a little while, but also adds to the beauty and unique aspect of Oía!

It was clean and nice. I had a late flight so they allowed me to stay and enjoy the pool and shower before I left.

How to get there. Google maps took me the wrong way carrying luggage down a lot of stairs. Just take the transfer. Also, couldn’t get the jacuzzi to work for longer than 3 minutes at a time.

A magical, luxurious boutique hotel with gorgeous subset views

We absolutely adore this hotel. It is steps away from all of the bustle of downtown Oia but because of its location on the side of the caldera, it is unbelievably quiet and peaceful in a way that almost none of the other hotels can claim. The entire island comes to the top of the caldera to watch the sunset, which hotel guests can enjoy from any number of beautiful venues, including the pool, hot tubs and rooftop. We absolutely love being in the pool looking out at the ruins and hearing the donkeys going up and down the Byzantine steps. The proximity to Ammoudi Bay is another fabulous bonus. The staff is amazing, the rooms are gorgeous, and the overall experience is just absolutely magical. This was our second stay (we stayed here 8 years ago for our honeymoon) and we would recommend it to absolutely anyone traveling to Santorini.

Our stay here at Oia Mare Villas was one of the best experiences we’ve had in a long time! Everything, from the staff to the location was perfect! The rooms were clean and modern, the staff were so warm and welcoming always saying good morning to everyone and asking us if we were ok to make sure we were comfortable. Always available to answer any of my crazy questions.Room service definitely hit the spot after a long day of walking and climbing the steps. We had dinner on our patio - margarita pizza, Greek salad, and cocktails. As we were eating we could see the sunset and it was truly spectacular. The cutest visitor is when were having dinner on the patio two baby cats came to visit and kept us company while we ate.. well we know the real reason is they smelled the food but it was still cute to us. We were given really good restaurant and shopping recommendations for our stay here. The transfer/porters to and from the airport was very reliable and professional.

I like the location of where we stayed. Again I can’t explain how good the staff were. Friendly, welcoming and very professional! I really like the fact that we didn’t have to worry about anything while we was here. A true vacation from start to finish.

The Volcano View Suite is nothing short of incredible! Fantastic experience all around!

We booked the Volcano View Suite with Hot Tub and it was nothing short of AMAZING! The staff Allah, Abu, and Vasili were all incredible! The suite is right off the main street in Oia and very easy to get around to everything! Allah went above and beyond and got us an amazing dinner reservation with the best view for the sunset! Both rooms were spacious and immaculately clean! Worth the price and hope to come back some day!

Caution the main hotel is quite difficult to get to, however breakfast is included, and they will bring directly to the Volcano View Suite!

We were shocked at number of steps to the hotel! Hundred +😫, extremely steep and very dangerous. We felt trapped, as the nearest restaurant/ bar /cafe we would have to do those steps again!! The breakfast was dreadful no choices, we were stuck at the pool and reception level (4 fights up and down from the room )till we were ready to depart .

Amazing view

Above all, the view was amazing. Even though we were delayed by a day due to a boat cancellation, they rescheduled us free of charge. Pick up at the port and transfer to the airport was also convenient. Without the porter service that accompanied the transfer, I would not have been able to get to my room.

For people with weak legs, climbing stairs can be difficult. We requested to be pick up us at the post office as we didn't want to climb the stairs, but they called us 30 minutes earlier than the appointed time. That was the only thing that was disappointing.

The views at Oia Mare Villas are simply amazing. The room we stayed in was beautiful, comfortable, and very spacious. They offer plenty of breakfast options and they are all delicious. The staff was welcoming and helpful throughout our stay. Due to an early flight out, the staff even prepared us with a lite breakfast the night before. I highly recommend this property for anyone wanting to relax and enjoy beautiful Santorini sunsets away from the crowds.

I love our spacious and clean room with a magnificent view of the Aegean Sea. It’s so refreshing and relaxing just sitting on the balcony. You can watch the breathtaking sunset from the hotel’s rooftop or your hot tub. The location was close to blue-domed churches, restaurants, Amoudi Bay, shops etc. Delicious buffet breakfast every morning with amazing views. The staff were helpful and accommodating especially on booking our airport transfer. Be extra careful walking on the stairs because it’s very steep, and thanks to our porter reminded us not to step on the edge of the stairs because it’s slippery. It’s nice exercise for us though. I feel bad for our porter carrying our luggage. It's a good thing we only brought 1 carry-on luggage and 1 big backpack. It was a short but memorable birthday vacation at Oia Mare Villas. Many thanks to all.

We had an incredible stay at Oai Santorini Villa. The location is absolutely unbeatable – perfect for catching those iconic Santorini sunsets. Our cave room was a unique and beautiful experience, combining charm with comfort. The staff were fantastic – especially the porters who managed to carry our bags effortlessly up and down the steep paths. The villa was spotless thanks to the efficient and friendly cleaning team, and the sheets were fresh and soft. Breakfast was a daily highlight, particularly the delicious Greek yoghurt. The views from the villa were breathtaking, making every moment feel special. Highly recommend for anyone looking to experience the best of Santorini!

A dream!

Oia Mare Villas is amazing! You can not get a better "Santorini" view. We were impressed with the pick up from the port- they were on time and the driver was so nice and gave us a ton of initial advice on what to do! We also were amazed at the Oia Mare staff that helped us lug our big bags throughout the many stairs of Oia (they are so strong!) We watched the sunset from our porch multiple nights- free of the big crowds that come into Oia at sunset! It was close to a ton of amazing restaurants and the staff was top notch! They gave us advice and booked us excursions even day of without issue. Would highly recommend Oia Mare to anyone staying in Santorini. 6/5 stars!!!
