Room needs upgrade brill location food and staff good.

The tricki woo room was not good. Matteress was past its best and gave me back ache the hard floor was unpleasant and the easy chair was thread bear. Drink prices were eye watering.

Loved it and 100% be booking again

I booked this hotel as it is used on all creatures great and small and it was a gift for my wife who loves the show Each room was named after person in the show which was a lovely touch The bar and food was excellent and the staff where amazing especially Mags

The only thing is there is no parking if you get there early you could get a parking spot outside the front But there is plenty of parking around the village in a very short walk from the hotel

Everything we needed for a relaxing visit to the Yorkshire dales.

Great location. Room was clean and comfortable. Had everything we needed for an overnight stay. We had breakfast and evening meal, on both occasions the food and service was excellent.

No parking but main car park in the village was only a short walk and a reasonable price for overnight.

The Devonshire

Stunning location in the heart of Grassington, lovely historic market square and quaint buildings. Lots of small businesses and eateries, we found a lovely cafe where the food was great and served by lovely staff. The Devonshire was a lovely old building with a warm heart, staff were all amazing and helpful. The decor was as described and the food at dinnertime and breakfast were both very tasty and well presented. The link to all creatures great and small is great for someone who enjoys the TV series and visiting locations used.

Short on parking but the national park car park a few minutes walk away was a good send.

The staff were friendly and the location lovely, bedrooms were warm

Excessive dust in my bedroom,mould in the shower. The noise from the bar was too loud quiz night and music going on to almost midnight the sound thundered up through the rooms impossible to have an early night,then the noise starts again at 6am with work going on outside (not the properties fault but guests should be advised) also guests should be advised that there is a busy vibrant bar under the accommodation and they won't be able to relax in their rooms on an evening Mrs Halls breakfast well Um where do I start ? We were seated by a lovely waitress she was attentive and very cheery 👍top marks for her ! So the breakfast, supermarket value cereals low quality,no fresh fruit? The main course the full English,well the bacon was like trying to eat a lump of plastic,the mushrooms were a few slithers (hardly cooked) the tomato was cold ,the local sausage looked nice but no taste and pink inside ,the black pudding was nice 👍 the baked beans were cold the hash brown was deep fried to death and soggy in the middle,the scrambled eggs were not even edible ,the toast was delivered not separately but dumped on your main cooked breakfast plate ,so absoured all the grease etc and it was not possible to use later and enjoy with a preserve

Better or Worse?

Grassington is a beautiful place to visit. This was our second visit.

Booked for our second visit, so the first visit was fantastic we stopped in the Tristan Room a large beautiful room. The room, our evening meal and staff fantastic. We had such a good time we booked straight away for this year and decided to upgrade to what they called a suite? The room was a lot smaller than the Tristan room we stayed in on our first visit and really not as nice. We went down for our evening meal and we waited about 15 minutes to get a drink and there was a wait to order, once we ordered our starter and main we waited some 40 minutes to be greeted with our main course, no starter! It wasn't a great experience. It was really ashame we had such a different experience this time round. Unfortunately, it's put us off going back.

Fun place in middle of town Very strict about early check in. Not a second before 4pm Very disappointing Bed needs replacing Don’t be on First floor unless you enjoy terrible racket above you late into the night and early in the morning Staff was great Breakfast superb

Delightful stay in Grassington

The hotel was well maintained. Our room most likely had been upgraded with plenty of outlets for charging our devices. It was very comfortable with beautiful furnishings. We had Room 2 "The Darrowby Suite." Loved the bar and had a wonderful dinner and breakfast. Absolutely nothing negative about this hotel.

Great location but due to lack of service at the prices charged, wouldn’t recommend or stay again.

Location was good.

When you’re paying £170 a night you don’t expect to be ignored by some staff. No table available in the dining area the first night then you wait an hour for food the second night even though the restaurant was only half full. I would have mentioned it at the time but no member of staff came to check on our table once the food arrived. Then you’re made to wait again at breakfast the next morning. I also don’t expect to see stains all along the bed base.

Charming hotel in a beautiful setting

Friendliness of the staff and food quality and variety was exceptionally high. Rooms very clean. Bathroom to a high spec. Very good choice of beer too

A lovely, relaxed and peaceful location, which I first stumbled upon a few years ago.

From the minute I arrived the staff were attentive and so welcoming. I settled in, had a lovely meal and some drinks. In the morning breakfast was served efficiently and with friendly staff. It is the second time I have stayed at the Devenshire and will definitely return again.

The only thing I noticed was a noise coming from the location below my room (No 7) It did not have an affect on the enjoyment of my stay, but it was noticeable none the less.
