The kitchen facilities were a bit tricky. Only one of the elements worked, and each time you tried to use the microwave it tripped the circuit breaker. Made it quite difficult to cook meals.

Ridge Haven was a clean, comfortable, and peaceful place to stay.

I had a fantastic stay at Ridge Haven in Ruakaka. The location was excellent—perfect for relaxing, with easy access to coastal walks and scenic views. It’s just a short drive or bike ride to the main beach, and the flat terrain makes cycling a breeze. The unit itself was immaculately clean and well maintained. The beds were very comfortable, and the shower had great pressure, which is always a plus. I especially enjoyed the peaceful garden setting, with tranquil views stretching out toward the coast. I met the host the next day and found them to be warm, welcoming, and lovely to chat with—a real highlight of the stay. Highly recommended for anyone looking to unwind in a quiet, scenic spot with all the comforts of home.

Overall, Ridge Haven is a wonderful place to relax, and I’d happily return. It’s well suited for couples or solo travelers looking for a peaceful, scenic escape with all the essentials. The only real issue I had was the sofa which was not very comfortable and maybe that could be updated but other than that it was an all round pleasurable experience.

To know the code for getting the key from night before, as the morning of the day of the travel got too busy to read Email at home on the comp and the pass word was a problem to log in from family member's phone latter. But we do understand the reason behind this

This host is so rude! She never treat us properly and her tone of voice is so sarcastic!

The host is so rude! She did not greet us in our first day even though that she live upstairs. In our second day when we meet she did not even ask us about our stay or ask what our plans for today but instead she ask for a 30 dollars for the visitor. I tried to explain to her about my friend who sleep last night because its too late to go home for him but he interrupt my conversation on the middle and she told me “I dont tolerate liars! She did not give the chance to explain what happened and after that she told us about where we should park in a sarcastic voice. To the owner and host of this accomodation: I WAS HURT BY YOUR WORDS AND MY TRIP WAS RUINED THINKING ABOUT YOUR ATTITUDE TOWARDS US! We deserved a reapect and right treatment. We are professional and working in the hospital. We can give you the 30 dollars and we can afford that. DID YOU KNOW THAT I WAS TRAUMATIZED AND HURT BY YOUR WORDS! I dont know know if your a racist because we are asians or thats your attitude! But mind you…be careful with your words cuz it can hurt someone. WE REGRET STAYING IN YOU PLACE!

Being 35 weeks pregnant i would say it was the best place ive ever stayed at. So warm, comfortable blankets i didnt want

Last minute booking was able to check in straight away Host was very quick at responding. Attended a funeral close by. Loved that it was private, quiet and spacious. Very warm, beautiful shower, full kitchen, most comfortable blankets and bed. Would definitely stay here again in the future.
