Ideal for one night in Headington

The location was right on Headington High Street and easy to get to bus stops. It was right near the hospital which is what I needed. The room, bedding and towels were clean.

The hotel is not modern or fancy but it does not need to be, it was just as expected and ideal for the one night stay I had

It was fare for the amount of money. The host was very polite and helpful.

The entrance to the parking is extremely small and with a big we didn't manage to go in. Also, it's a bit far from the city centre but there is stuff to do around.

Handy for john Radcliffe hospital

It was very handy for john Radcliffe hospital 10 minutes walk. The room was spacious. Everything on doorstep ( food, chemist , takeaways, pubs), and under accommodation curry restaurant.

Parking was first come fist park. There was a shortage of plug sockets in the room I was in.

Friendly welcome, lots of local shops, loved the shark round the corner

The bed was comfortable, the price was right and the welcome was great, very helpful phoning in advance and helping us when we couldn’t find the car park. There were a number of shops and food places local to the property. Loved seeing the shark in the house round the corner.

Ok but niggling problems

Situated up in headington which is a long walk from the centre - about 40 minutes. There are buses, though, and headington is quite pleasant with plenty of shops and food. No aircon but a good fan. Pleasant unfussy staff. The room simple but clean enough. And a real bath in the bathroom! Particularly good if you're visiting the hospitals.

Problems in the bathroom: the only hook was missing, so nowhere for a towel. The toilet cistern not filling properly so only 3/4 full and flushing poorly. And the switch cord for the shaving light was missing so the mirror light was unusable. Small things that could all be easily fixed if they bothered.

I couldn’t get in when i arrived. I rang the number advertised and no answer. Room badly furnished and didn’t feel clean. Smelt strongly of curry.
