Very pleasant and perfect for our needs.

Room was very clean. Bathroom well equipped.

The fact that we were accused of taking a refillable water bottle which was never in our room and would be charged for it.. I had turn around and go back to the guest house to confirm that I would not be charged for this.

Guest House in great location

The Oxford Guest House is in an excellent location. Therefore, it was not the first time I booked it to stay there. It has available parking on site, the rooms are clean,although very small and the bed is comfortable I had all I needed to stay for one night

The checking in system could be improved when the host is not on site, although I missed the email instructing me how to open the front door

For work at the hospital, the location is great, a short 15-20 minute walk. The B&B is clean & rider throughout as was my room. Little fridge/cooler in room is a bonus too. Bed comfy. All good. Second time I’ve stayed here.

I've found my Oxford place to stay for the next couple of years!

It was perfect for me. I visit Oxford Brookes three times a year, and it has taken me 4 tries to find a place to stay that is near enough to have a good morning walk (15-20 mins) to the campus. The room is a nice size and roomy enough for me to sit at the desk and do a little work. The best thing about this place is that the Oxford Tube stop right outside. This will now be my place to stay for the next couple of years.

I should have booked a meal. I'll do that when I return.

If the heating system had worked properly, I could have said that it was a stay worth the money.

The price is reasonable, and the location is close to Headington shops and bus stops.

During my first day and night, the radiator did not work at all, and the room was very cold. It was impossible to sleep or rest because of the low temperature. Since there was no reception or staff available during the night, I had to endure the cold until morning. When I reported this issue the next day, I was told that I should have sent a message via Booking.com during the night. However, there was no way for me to know that I was expected to contact the property through Booking.com in such a situation, especially when there was no staff or contact information available at night.

Clean and tidy stay

Had everything we needed and great off street parking at the back of the property. On a very busy street but could not hear traffic in the small back room. Had a lovely breakfast

Room was small but it was advertised as such. Someone played a tv or radio very loudly waking us at 11.30 pm and continued until after 2.30 am. Sounded like the noise was from above us, so had an interrupted night

Generally quiet, secluded guest house at the back. Earplugs recommended.

The second time I have stayed at the guest house. I'm a light sleeper and always need a quiet and secluded place to stay. The private house at the back of the property is perfect for me. It was very spacious, clean, and generally quiet. I slept through the night with no problems. Staff were very friendly and welcoming upon arrival and check-in and check-out were very easy.

I used earplugs to assist me in sleeping through the night. If you don't have earplugs you can still here some of the traffic noise from the main road, as the house itself does not have much soundproofing and the main door to it is not fully sealed. Therefore, I would recommend brining some earplugs if you are a light sleeper.

Lovely hotel, would definitely stay again!

It was brilliantly placed for me working at the hospital so excellent location. A very short walk to the shops and local amenities also. The hotel itself was lovely. Very well presented with a cosy feel to it. The room was very clean and bed comfortable. There even was a microwave & mini fridge in the room which was a great little bonus. Really nice hotel that suited me fantastically for my stay.

Extremely comfortable accommodation - delighted to have found it

There was so much thought put in to making the room comfortable for guests. Little touches that were really appreciated were: a fridge, tissues, a water bottle, umbrellas and chargers to borrow. The sheets and towels all had that really clean toothy feel of linen dried outdoors. Check in was a breeze - staff were all lovely - I'd certainly like to stay here again, and recommended it to all my friends who live in the city, should they have family visiting.

Perfect stay in a great location.

Everything was perfect. Room was comfortable and breakfast was freshly cooked with a buffet of juices, bread for toasting and fresh fruit. From check in to leaving the service was excellent. Short walk to the local shops and restaurants.

Location great and comfortable

We stayed in the self contained unit at the rear of the property. Good place for a 11 day stay. It had an oven and washing machine which was essential for us. There was not a lot of kitchen utensils, however whenever we asked for an extra plate, iron etc. it was always quickly provided. I think maybe the self contained unit is a recent addition, so maybe still in the process of being set up. Location is great, it's about a 20 minute bus ride from the main city, but buses pass every 5 to 10 mins and there are lots of options. The bus stops are just a 1 minute walk from the property. There are plenty of grocery and shopping options, takeaways, cafes etc just a 10 min walk or a few minutes on a bus. A great set up for a couple.

One of our worst stay

The fridge isn’t a fridge and isn’t working properly, you can barely fit a 1.5L bottle in it. The room was smaller than expected, not enough space to let your luggage open. We room is not maintained and feels in bad condition. It’s really hot inside the room especially during summer and the fan was as tiny as the room and noisy.

Fantastic guest house

Caroline could not have been nicer, more helpful and on hand to help us throughout the stay. When we asked to arrive early and leave late to make use of the off street parking she was only too happy to help. We got a top notch home cooked breakfast as well as helpful map tips to walk to and from Windsor Castle. The rooms were spotless and had everything we needed. Fantastic, thank you very much for making us so welcome.

Good choice for an Oxford guesthouse

Although compact, the room was well equipped and the bathroom a decent size. Warm weather so appreciated windows which opened and a view over the gardens to the rear. Good location with constant stream of buses and bus stop outside into the city centre. The staff were friendly and efficient and a small problem with the shower was quickly sorted. We had breakfast on two mornings. Good selection of hot and cold items, lots of coffee and proper mushrooms and tomatoes. No problem parking at the rear of property. Plenty of places to eat and drink. Old Headington to the north of London road is like walking into a rural village and has two very nice pubs.

A little road noise, even in the garden-facing rooms but probably not an issue if closed.

Overall a reasonable stay with a few good/very good aspects.

Breakfast was good, I enjoyed it. Beds were comfortable and the fan was really welcome particularly on night one as it was an extremely warm night. The room was clean and having cool storage was an added bonus! The location suited us as my husband was having surgery at the Nuffield Centre this meant I could walk back and forth quite easily. The shower was great a good size and very clean.

The quality of the towels - not at all soft which is our preference, they also seemed on the thin side. Whilst the beds were comfortable there was nothing else to sit on (apart from a small totally inadequate chair, even a dining style chair would have been an improvement Lastly, the staff were not as forthcoming or welcoming as I'd expected from reading previous reviews before choosing Oxford Guest House, that is not to say they were rude or hostile but simply not as relaxed or approachable as I was hoping. I was feeling stressed anyway due to my husband's situation so this may have coloured my view slightly.

Room was so small that only 1 and a half sides of bed were allowing 1 foot of space You could not even turn in that space This for a double room No facilities to even sit Furniture rickety was afraid I would break it No place for suitcases to be kept forget opening and unpacking

Cute guest house, amazing breakfast and great staff

The guest house is perfect for a short stay. The staff was very nice and helpful. It was big enough for our family of 4. Very near the center of Oxford and accessible by bus as well if needed. The bed was comfy.

The room can be a bit hot if the weather turn out very good. they added a fan to help.

A good choice for the heavy sleeper

The staff were lovely. It was good to have a bus stop nearby.

The road noise was horrendous. We had asked for a room at the back, but were told they were booked. You could also hear everything in the property. Someone entered it at 5.30 am, and we could hear everything. The shower was difficult to use, and you needed to hold the head up while you were in the shower, otherwise the head fell downwards, and sprayed the wall….room 4.

Fantastic, with on-site parking and a delightful atmosphere, a must recommend!

The bed was comfy, the place had a lovely atmosphere, the staff was lovely, and the on-site parking was an awesome bonus.

The room was quite small and cramped by the time a double bed and bunk bed were in there, however I still rate it 10/10 because for the price, location and all other aspects easily justify it being a bit of a squeeze!
