Good selection and quality of food.

For my husband and I it was a very good location as it was near the church where we needed to go on two occasions.
The access to the room was very good, near the car park.
Everything was excellent. No complaints. Our two nights were very comfortable. We had everything we needed.

Staff very friendly
Good sized food portions
The heating was off in the room on arrival with temperatures outside at -1 degree. I turned it on (electric convection) and went for food to be somewhere warm. I informed the staff of the situation, maybe a portable heater should have been offered to help!
On return a couple of hours later the room was still very cold with the heater being on the wall and positioned at chest height so below it never warmed up. I lay in bed with fleece on to watch TV
Looking at other reviews I'm hoping this was just a housekeeping oversite, but it was damn cold!
The bed had no headboard
In the morning there were trickles of water on the lower walls as the damp was being pulled out!

Great breakfast
9.0 / 10.0
Outstanding breakfast (we all had the full English) with excellent quality sausages, bacon & mushrooms etc, perfectly cooked & large helpings. Very good coffee (latte recommended). Very friendly & helpful staff: both the evening staff who welcomed us & the morning guy who couldn't have been more helpful & polite. Comfy beds & spotlessly clean room. Good sized TV.
Only one very small thing: our room had an attic (velux?) type blind on the angled window which was a bit hard to operate. We'd checked in late after a long journey so we didn't want to disturb the night staff as we just wanted to get to bed. We did mention it at breakfast so it can be looked at.

The food, both the breakfasts and evening meals were very, very good. We ate in on every night of our stay. I believe the Chef had changed so congratulations to him. The bar, restaurant and cleaning staff were all very friendly and helpful. We found our first room a little small with our small dog and were transferred to another room. The proximity of the Royal Victoria Park is also a blessing especially for walking ourselves and the dog! The Cafe in the Park is also very good. We have now stayed here at least five times.

We were offered at no extra cost a larger room than originally booked. We are senior citizens and the room was on the ground floor so for us was a good move. Evening meal was delicious and reasonably price, the included breakfast was plentiful and delicious.

Easy access by taxi or local bus! Felt like we were living like a local. The food in the pub was absolutely delicious and huge portions. The staff were outstanding! Would definitely stay again!

The owner and host is Karen. She made the whole trip worthwhile and worth repeating. The room was as advertised and very clean. They had an unexpected power outage in the area and he rebooked all the other guests in different hotels. Luckily, I did not get the message and we showed up an hour after power had come back on. We were so lucky. Karen was amazing. The breakfast was fantastic. We stayed the next morning for a drink at her pub which was a real UK neighborhood experience. We would come back in a heartbeat. Thanks Karen!

We didn't have breakfast, it started at 08:00hr, the ferry was at the same time.
The dinner the previous evening was very good. Plenty of food on the plate, not much of a wait. Staff where friendly and helpful. Accommodation was very good. Will use again in the future.

Staff were great. Nothing was too much trouble. Evening meal and breakfast were great. Room ideal for one night.
This wasn't a dislike as such but the sink didn't have a plug and maybe swap the small cups for mugs for the tea and coffe.

Check in was easy and quick. Friendly and helpful staff.
The room was clean and a good size with private bathroom. Shower was easy to use, powerful and good temperature that was easy to adjust.
I had a meal in the evening, ordered at the bar and ate outside on the decking. I had chicken goujons for starter and a king prawn salad for main. Both dishes were delicious, very good sized portions and I would highly recommend them.
Breakfast in the morning was delicious too. Good choice of cereals, yoghurt and fruit juice to self-serve. Cooked breakfast can also be chosen from the menu, along with a hot drink. Very tasty food and plenty of it.
Good location: on a quiet road that leads to a country park. A few shops in the local area (Co op, post office and some fast food places). There is a Tesco Extra a 5-10min drive away. Overall it was a peaceful and quiet location, I really enjoyed my stay. I would not hesitate to book again and would share my positive experience with other people. Thank you!
I stayed in room number 7. The room was hot, no heating on, the window was open but had a restrictor so you couldn't open it fully. But there was a fan and that made such a difference being able to have it on and cool down a little.
There is a car park, it was fairly full by the time I arrived at 4pm. I had to nip out a little later after checking in. When I got back, I got the last space and it was tight as the car in the next space had gone over the line. Not The Prince Consort's fault though at all.

The food was excellent at all thee meals. They were able to accommodate us with food even though the lunch period had ended. The breakfast was very generous.
We felt very welcome and exceptionally well cared for.
We really enjoyed the off the beaten track location and the nearby historical locations. It was fascinating how we could look out over the Southampton channel on one side of the road, and experience the charming Sophie's Pond filled with Mute Swans and Mallard ducks and other wildlife on the other.
The Wifi was spotty. I think it was more of a general location issue than one specific to the Prince Consort.
Without a car, our explorations were limited, especially in our short stay.

Clean and good value for money.
Most of the staff were excellent but one member was rude and unhelpful-most unfortunate as his attitude marred our stay!

The accommodation is small but for a night or 2 was perfect.
Tea/coffee facilities were plentiful the shower/toilet was very compact but very clean
Only downside there was only 1 set of electric sockets with none beside the bedside cabinets which was a bit of a pain
The bed was totally amazingly comfortable
Other than the limited sockets everything was fine

Welcoming staff, busy pub but the accommodation is set at the back in its own block which was good. Managed to get a parking spot, I arrived just after 5 but it did get busy later.
Good value pub food.
Nothing not to like, I had a small double room which was adequate for one person. Although I feel it could get hot if staying in the summer but there was a fan in the room.

The room had everything you needed, including bottled water - tea and coffee making facilities (and biscuits!). Breakfast was very well cooked. Great staff and the pub has a laid back vibe, would recommend!

The rooms were set just behind the pub. We ate our evening meal at the pub. Gammon steak was superb. Breakfast was great. Room was small but more than adequate for an overnight stay. Car parking free on site. All staff lovely. Good real ale pint.
Nothing not to like.
