Disappointing standard of fixtures and fittings which was a shame as a nice location.

Poor condition of room - broken radiator / towel rail in Bathroom. Curtains and curtain poles in poor condition. Generally a tired and poorly maintained feel of the hotel

An average hotel for an above average price.

That it was within walking distance of the function we were attending

The door didn't have a handle on it, The bed was very hard and uncomfortable, the fridge which is nice to keep milk in, (because the UHT milk is awfu). Was placed on a small table and was very loud when the motor kicked in, bedside lamps were loose. A repair in the bathroom hadn't been covered up at all. But the main thing was the curtains, didn't fit the window at all and let so much light in, it was pointless having them. Also hear the people in the next room talking, so they could obviously hear us or the TV.

An interesting location but rooms cd do with a refurb

Great location, easy free parking, the room was large with a sea view and restaurant has a good vibe

The room was too hot, even with radiators off and windows open. The furniture was in a poor state - chair leg broken, sofa bed v uncomfy. Coffee table wobbly. Dated interior. We wd have liked to have had supper there but nothing healthy and everything v pricey.

Air lovely few days stay in the boathouse hotel.

The location was wonderful, we had a balcony over looking the harbour which was so nice, The staff were very nice and accommodating,

My husband didn't like the bed, he thought it was to hard and it hurt his back,but I found it very comfortable, so you can't please everyone, They did have a disco on the Friday night, and it was right underneath our room, but it did finish at 10pm so can't complain really.

The front of house staff were helpful

My shower was cold and although i asked everday from day1, they did nothing about it. The bathroom blind was stuck fully open so i was facing the opposite windows when using the toilet and shower. The room was sold as s room with a fridge. There wasn’t one so i had to have a full size one balanced on the beside table!

Great location, lovely warm rooms, big shower, nice bar, friendly helpful staff, especially George. Lovely being on the marina with views out to the estuary.

Sadly, quite "tired" rooms with mold around the shower, poor silicon repairs, lukewarm shower water. Stained shower tray. Gaffa tape on a flooring seam in the bathroom

The hallways and dining areas were very cold. Heated towel rail in our bathroom didn’t work. Our toilet flush was a bit tricky to use, think it was broken but did flush if you positioned it right.

Boxing Day Morning at The Boat House Hotel

Staff very accomodating, friendly and polite, premises were very clean, although there was a number of small 'luggage-scuff-marks' on the bedroom wall and other places. Room 5 is a very nice small-double, but adequately spaceous 'attic room' with a good TV, very comfortable bed, a very good ensuite toilet, sink and power shower, (one of the dispensers needed renewing - bubbled alot (tho' it did work). The shower room's integral 'window blind retaining clips' had failed, so it was necessary to use the 'Do Not Disturb' '007' door knob card to jam the blind in the closed position. A significant and very important issue was the dining area temperature, I would recommend it should be at least 21-23ºC (recordable at 30cms from the floor), across the whole area, with no drafts around external doors (which there were), I would guess the ambient temperature in the dining area on Sunday 26th Dec., at c1000H, probably averaged around 19ºC - it was too cold, a number of guests had their coats on. Attention to detail in hospitality is paramount at all times, so good luck team! PS The coffee and English breakfast was perfect 👌

The above report covers everything, however, if it was my hotel, I think I would work on making the whole dining space more visually cozier, it's too Canteen-like for an upmarket hotel, with a very attractive exterior and location, that promises alot.

Couldn’t fault cleanliness.

Needs maintenance- broken toilet flush, broken mirror, no plug near dressing table to plug hairdryer in. Velux blinds do not operate correctly, one pops up. Fridge is very noisy in room, has to be turned off at night as it isn’t enclosed. Hotel entrance is not signed very well, entry through fire exit which seemed strange.

The hotel is very tired and is in need of a revamp.

The location is fantastic, with views of the estuary and marina. Comfortable bed and large room with a fridge. Fantastic windows even though some of the safety strips are missing.

The layout of the room (3) is wrong. There is no plug adjacent to the dressing table for a hair drier. We had to relocate the mirror to the other side of the room for a plug. The cheap mirror holder was broken. Cheap furniture that looked cheap. The TV is too small for the room. It should be at least 40inch. There is a faulty flush mechanism on the toilet which was loose and unreliable. The staff aren't friendly and did not engage with us as guests. Upon check out they didn't ask if we enjoyed our stay.

Lovely Location but..

Location is great,nice size room ,staff are normally ok.

We stayed in room 8 The mobile radiator wasn't working as we wanted to heat up the bathroom to have a shower due to both radiator and towel heater not working in the bathroom and it was cold even leaving the door open to try and get some warmth in. The right hand window blind wasn't working. When we went down for breakfast the bin where you put the empty cereal boxes was overflowing both days so it wasn't emptied. The above is a shame really as we have been here about 4 to 5 times and I have to say I'm disappointed 😞.

No hot water to have a shower. Check in took long as they needed to go find someone. We were two couples waiting. Room was cold during the night. The surfaces or top of the wardrobe was dirty and sticky. Blanket soiled and there was dust on the towel rail/radiators.

Pleasantly different than the local chain hotels and good value

Staff exceptional - friendly and professional Room had all the required features necessary for a comfortable stay Bathroom larger than expected, with a powerful shower and toiletries and good quality towels. Evening meal excellent value, restaurant well laid out and good ambiance and pleasant views of the marina Complimenrary continental breakfast had good selection of quality items and fresh fruit. Parking easy with bays well marked out Simple, safe and quick walk into Hythe.

Would not have liked to have a long stay in the Small Double Room (5) we booked but only because it didn't have room for seating so had to lie on the bed. We only stayed one night and did know this arrangement beforehand, and the very competitive price did reflect this.

Superb in every sense

Superb location in Hythe with plenty of free parking. Room 4 was huge! Massive shower, deep bath and enormous bed with a separate seating area, and even a fridge. I was really surprised in a good way and loved the hotel. It was quiet at night and just perfect. We had a lovely meal in the evening with friendly helpful staff. Nothing was too much trouble.
