Well located
Too expensive and my radiator didn’t work and when I asked two times for assistance it still didn’t work and then I was accused of breaking the sink even though I didn’t even use it once and I just came to sleep.

Location
I arrived at 9:30pm. the front desk was not even open, and the front door locked. I had to call somebody to come and let me in and then then suggested they would have to charge me extra for “such a late arrival”. Ultimately, they looked at their own watch and then decided to change their mind.
The heating was not on at all, so after a few hours with my coat on in bed I called and they turned it on.
There was a bath and a sink, with one plug that didn’t fit either well.
The coffee was not restocked in the two days I was there.
The car park was flooded – I literally ended up with one wet foot climbing into my car.

The room was clean and big and I was pleased that the staff allowed me to check in an hour early.
The bed was too low and the mattress was not Comfortable. The most annoying thing for me was the sink in the bathroom had hot and cold separate taps plus no lift made it very difficult for me to take my suitcase up and down the stairs.

I’ve stayed at this hotel a number of times!
I come up to Southampton to visit my son as he goes to the university.
The rooms are clean and beautifully presented.
The food in the restaurant always has a lovely variety of homemade delicious meals !
One of the best qualities about this hotel is the price and how welcoming and friendly the staff are !
As a woman who travels alone , I feel safe secure and it’s like home from home ! They go above and beyond to make your stay a delightful one ! Will be back in April
to stay once again ! I wouldn’t stay anywhere else when coming to Southampton!

Location is perfect for me as it's just a walk into town. The Common is across the road and is perfect for a walk with my grandson. There is a great little playground with a sand pit, swings and climbing frames etc. Also plenty of lovely routes for running, a mobile coffee van, a cafe in the playground which serves a fantastic cheesy chips and ice cream/lollies. There's a duck pond and a nature area. Travel routes from here to Winchester, A27 and beyond are good. Dominoes Pizza is across the road, bars, cafes and restaurants a short walk away. Town is approx 20 minutes walk away. Great shower and full sized bath in my room no. 21. Road outside my window busy and noisy but hotel is set back far enough tgat it wasn't a problem. A charming place.
Vent in bathroom comes on when you turn the light on and doesn't stop until a minute after you turn it off - not great if you want a relaxing bath. It would be better if there was a switch to allow you to turn on bathroom mirror light separately.
Getting into and out of the car park is tricky but not impossible. You have to consider the small entrance and exit and crossing pavement and cycle lane on a busy road

It had parking. The room was lovely and warm. Plenty of towels. Nice and clean. Breakfast superb. Staff very friendly & helpful.
I didn’t realise it had stairs. Next time I’ll book ground floor.

Excellent ground floor room provided due to mobility issues, lovely breakfast and friendly staff. We have stayed here several times before cruising, leaving the car parked securely for the duration of our holiday and have already booked for the next trip!
Maybe access to refreshments once checked out and waiting to go to the port etc which could be several hours. Even a vending machine would be welcome.

The hotel met our needs and offered parking for the duration of our holiday. We would certainly stay there again, if driving.
The signage was difficult to see in the dark. We missed it the first time ... and the second time.

Within walking distance to where my son lives. Room was lovely spotlessly clean, bed was very comfortable. Breakfast was excellent lots of choice.
The water in the shower was only like warm even after running it for sometime. It didn’t stop me having a shower though.

The staff were excellent, breakfast was good and the staff were very helpful. I prefer being served at my table. Room decor was boutique style.
The bathroom floor tiles were slippery in my room, 46? Also they could do with some do not disturb signs x

Location. Helpful receptionist who found me a room with a properly functioning ensuite bathroom after two without extraction. Comfortable bed. Clean hotel.
Muddy carpark
Having knocked over a cup of tea in my room not being supplied with suitable materials to clean up. It was after 2300 so I was prepared to do the job myself but all that could be supplied was a dirty cloth and an old plastic mop with a fixed mop wringing lid.

The place was clean and organized, which is a positive point. However, my overall experience was not comfortable. I was assigned to a building outside the main one, located right next to it, which made me feel uneasy and not fully comfortable during my stay.
Fortunately, the room was on the ground floor because there was no elevator and no assistance available for carrying luggage. The location was perfect for me as I have a conference in the university which is 9 minutes away by the bus. It is also not far from the city centre you. It takes few stops to get there .
In my room i can hear some noise from outside, even though the area is relatively quiet. In the uk, it seems they have an issue with sound insulation, which affects the comfort of the guests.
Another negative point is that they requested sensitive financial information without providing any guarantee for the security of this data and without a convincing reason, especially since the payment had already been made in full online. Their only explanation was that it is “company policy,” with no concern for the future financial safety of their guests. This made me feel very uncomfortable.
I asked to cancel the booking and move to another place, but they were not cooperative enough and insisted that the cancellation request. I ended up staying while feeling uneasy.

Room was lovely, breakage was really nice. We had a meal at night and that was great
There was nothing to fault. We were cruising from Southampton and the place was ideal to stay
4.0 / 10.0
The hotel service was nice and helpful.
The room was extremely hot, there was no air conditioning, and the fan wasn't doing its job. Keeping the windows open didn't help either, and we didn't stay there during a heatwave - it was just a bit over 20 degrees. We spent a horrible night, couldn't sleep at all. I tried to sleep on the floor but it didn't cool me either.
The room furniture and equipment was pretty basic and old fashioned. Also, the breakfast was quite poor and we had to wait almost half an hour for the cooked meal. Finally, the car park was tiny and although they had a system of fitting cars in, it was a bit stressful.

Perfect location. Plenty of parking. Large comfortable room. Facilities were good and we were able to add breakfast and evening meal. Staff were all very friendly.
Scaffolding outside bedroom window with banging gate and workmen starting early. Unavoidable and did not cause much disturbance.

The hotel room was dirty I had asked the receptionist if I could just have my bedding changed she was very rude about it and came in my room told me that there’s no hair I told her the room is dirty and she said oh what ever and walked out she then made it very uncomfortable the whole time she was working she had told my partner that I was rude the room Smells also the toilet seat was not attached but by this the time I had found out didn’t feel comfortable telling the receptionist

Good size room. Breakfast was goog choice and staff were very pleasant at reception and at breakfast. Price right for a mid week break in Southampton
No real complaints. A bit dated in decor and bathroom. Shower could have been better but good hot water

The hotel was quaint and charming. Fabulously welcoming and friendly receptionist. Spotlessly clean. The triple room for 3 adults was great for a one night stay with our 17 year old to save having to pay for two separate rooms.
Breakfast served earlier would have been helpful. I needed to leave the hotel by 8.15am and breakfast was served 8-10am, which meant a very quick bowl of cereal only and I missed out on the cooked breakfast.
5.0 / 10.0
The food was nice, the staff were lovely. but was just not the place to stay with luggage.
There was no lift to get to our room with luggage and had to walk up 2 flights of steep stairs with suitcases and other luggage. We were also in an annex building so to get to the dining area we had to walk across a the car park. Not a long walk but if raining it would have needed an umbrella. The toilet/bathroom door also did not shut properly. And one of the lights next to the bed did not work.
