Melrose is an excellent location. Pretty little town in the Scottish borders. Short walk to Melrose Abbey - interesting audio tour. Also short walk down to the River Tweed and the chain bridge. Two national trust for Scotland gardens either side of the Abbey. Home of Rugby 7's Reasonably priced room in old (1793)hotel, situated on the high street. Comfortable Good full breakfast was included in our rate. Pleasant staff Good dinner. Busy on a Saturday evening - a good sign. Free parking on opposite side of the road. Cafes , small shops, and Roman Museum. Borders Way and Southern Upland way pass through Melrose.

We were traveling late from Edinburgh and wanted a late check-in, and somewhere to break the long journey. Home to Cheshire. The room was very clean and the bed the most comfortable we slept in!! Cooked Breakfast is served till 12 noon and checkout till 11am so you can have a leisurely morning. Melrose looks a beautiful village/town too. We parked in the free car park next to the coop. Then we travelled home via the beautiful A7 route!!!

Not much wrong. No offer if cereals at breakfast but the cooked breakfast was excellent. My wife had a breakfast banana split with yogurt and muesli also lovely!!

The location was great. Staff were welcoming and helpful with any questions we had. We used the bar had lovely staff who were very attentive and recalled drinks we had when reordering. Suggestions for food were fabulous. Breakfast was very nice and again different staff but so lovely and chatty about the area and interesting features around. We would definitely stay again if we were in the area.

Great Location, parking outside, staff very friendly and helpful. Shower was good.

Room very tiny and dingy, dark . Very little room, nowhere to sit other than the bed. Creaky noisy floors and water systems, difficult stairs to get up. Not a relaxing room at all.
