Excellent hotel in a superb location.
Exceptional location for exploring the Lake District to the west and Hadrian’s wall and Roman sites to the east. Very comfortable beautifully maintained rooms. The staff were brilliant… friendly, helpful and efficient. We enjoyed the excellent breakfast and evening meals. A really enjoyable stay. Will definitely stay again.

Lovely place just too noisy
The location was nice, the breakfast was delicious
The noise of staff above our room were very noisy, we could hear every footstep every door slammed shut, people chatting at 4 am, overall a very noisy establishment with no consideration to people trying to sleep.

Very nice traditional pub. Rooms were nice, Tiny Tim was a huge room.
Menu had loads of festive related items on it, think the normal menu would have been really good. Breakfast was served from 8am which was too late for us.

An excellent place to stop over and the location for us is brilliant.
The breakfast was huge. There was so much that neither of us could finish the cooked breakfast. The location is ideal for us,we traveled from Manchester to Glasgow on the Friday morning,stopping off at Brampton on the Friday night before continuing to Newcastle and then back home on the Saturday afternoon.
It’s a very busy place, and it can be noisy but you are given ear plugs if it bothers you. Certainly neither of us needed them.
