Very convenient
Booked a superior room and said we had a dog but when we checked in we were told it was not a dog friendly room and had to move to a smaller room. Very disappointing.

The first impressions are that this is a well established hotel. Very traditional and comfortable. It was the first time I had visited Melrose and the location couldn't have been better...all the fantastic, independent shops just outside the front entrance.
I had a single room which was a good size...not a cupboard as some single rooms can be! The bed was extremely comfortable with lovely pillows. Everything was considered..I didn't have to look for anything, it was all there..even a magnifying mirror for makeup.
Breakfast was excellent...a varied menu. Everything delivered promptly. Don't know what make the coffee is but it was delicious.
My friend and I didn't have an evening meal so can't comment.
I would stay here again. Have seen two upgraded single rooms which I would choose next time.
Can't fault anything.

Clean and quiet. Central location with parking.
Bar staff. Not pleased to see us at 9pm. When asked if they could do food was told ‘we’ve got our crisps’ pointing to packets on bar. This from a hotel. Awful.
