Breakfast was amazing! The view from our room was beautiful. The staff were very friendly. Parking was easy

Forth Bay Guest House has the most exceptional views over the River Forth. Ant, the host, was extremely welcoming. The room was very comfortable, food was delicious. The guest house was ideally placed for us, right next door to the Leven Golfing Society where we were attending a function. Forth Bay is a 15 minute walk from the railway station, with a regular train service on the Fife Circle and to Edinburgh.

Brilliant breakfast and superb location, close to Edinburgh

The owner did some washing for me which was a real help, and he lets people eat take-aways in the breakfast room. This is really helpful as the only restaurant in Leven closes at 8pm, (apart from a steak-house where the menu and the decor haven't changed since the '60s).

If you want to make an early start, ask for room 1. You'll hear the owner preparing the breakfasts from about 6.30am or even earlier. I'm pretty sure it's a plywood/formica partition between the 2 rooms rather than a brick wall. If you're the shy type try to avoid this room - just as the guest can hear the kitchen, the person in the kitchen will hear all the details of your morning routine, as the shower and WC are at that end of the room. If the kitchen noise doesn't wake you then the light coming through the paper-thin curtains, which don't even meet, will probably rouse you from your slumbers not long after the crack of dawn.
