Waypoint Arugam Bay

I had a great time at Waypoint! The beginning was a little difficult because the staff didn’t give a tour or explain where to find everything, so it took me a bit of time to figure things out. However, once I knew where everything was, the hostel offered pretty much everything I could wish for. There is drinking water available to refill your bottle, lines to dry your wet beach clothes, and plenty of showers and toilets. The staff were also very helpful when I needed to figure out transportation to my next destination. The location is fantastic, especially if you’re there for surfing. The hostel is super close to the main beach, where beginners can enjoy some great waves. If you rent a surfboard for the day, there’s also a rack at the hostel where you can safely store it between sessions. 😀 The rooms are quite small and dark, but despite that, I would definitely stay here again. The atmosphere was very positive, and the other guests were super friendly and nice. Overall, I really enjoyed my stay!

The rooms are very small and dark. On top the staff didn't give me a very warm and supportive welcome at the beginning which would have improved my expwrience a lot.

Bathrooms and toilets are very limited. It is shared among multiple dorms.

The room was nicely decorated. The airconditioning in the room was very comfortable, as well as the bed. The staff were very friendly. The accommodation is 2 minutes from the beach, which was great.

The shower in the middle of the bathroom left quite some water that didn’t flow away fast. Maybe there could be a squeegee provided for the guests. It was quite expensive for the size of the room.
