The views from the balcony were good and the location quiet. Good breakfast - a mix of Sri Lankan and Western.

Unfortunately we had a problem with one of our rooms being a little damp and mouldy, causing my friend to have breathing issues. Fortunately, I had booked a triple room, and she moved in with me. However, the owner did give us a price refuction. The owner does not take card transactions and, when offered US dollars as advertised on booking.com, refused to accept them as note denomination was less than 100 USD.. My friend and I had to pool the last of our LKR's to be able to pay, which left us needing to make an extra journey to an ATM. There is no restaurant for an evening meal and nothing close by, so be prepared to get a tuk tuk into Ella which has plenty.

Views would have been lovely but the weather was against us during our stay. The host was very accommodating and did our small load of washing for free.

Towels and bed linen were very worn. The breakfast has been prepared well in advance so was no longer fresh. We decided not to have breakfast on the second day. The steps from the road to the rooms are very steep.
