Ayubowan, Ella

Everything was amazing, the 20 minute walk to Ella along the trail tracks was great, we booked the superior queen room had views of the train line and seeing the train pass by was fantastic, the view from the bath at night was amazing, room was very comfortable with a beck that had fantastic views of Ella rock and the valley. The owners were absolutely amazing, they couldn't do enough for us, we had drinks we wanted to put in the fridge, it was not even an hour and the owner knocked on our door holding a new mini bar fridge he had just purchased, just amazing.

We had a great stay in Ayubowen. The property is out of Ella city and is located very close to the railway tracks. It was great to walk down the train track into town (about 20mins) The accommodation itself is basic/rustic. Beds were comfortable and clean but like most of Sri Lanka the bathrooms are basic. If you like camping/outdoors the place would suit you. It kind of felt like a country farm stay. The hotel has a wonderful view and the hosts are very helpful.

If you are visiting Ella, Ayubowan Ella is the place to stay. From the second we arrived, we were welcomed like family. The peaceful surroundings, amazing views of the mist covered hills, and cozy atmosphere made it so easy to relax. Waking up to the breathtaking mountain views and enjoying breakfast on the terrace as the sun rose was an unforgettable experience. The property is clean, peaceful, and surrounded by lush greenery, making it the perfect place to stay. What truly sets this place apart, though, is the exceptional hospitality. The team went above and beyond to make us feel completely at home from serving fresh, delicious meals prepared with so much love to helping us coordinate seamless transport and tours. Everything felt effortless, comfortable, and genuine. The location and value are completely unmatched. We cannot recommend Ayubowan Ella enough and will definitely be back on our next visit!

on booking. com was mentioned that the property located 1.7 km from the center. However with the van full of people it was a very stressful drive through the mountains. We were super nervous and scared when reached the hotel. i truly believe it should clearly be mentioned the location (in the middle of no where and it is super critical to reach there with a car/van) we were 5 adults and 2 young kids did not feel safe at all. hotel definitely needs modifications and repairs. people were very nice.

location, not suitable to go with car/van in fact it is dangerous. also location not correct (definitely more than 1.7 km from the center) if the was freshly raining we would never be able to get in or out of the property with van as we would have been drifted to the bushes
