Gorgeous view of the mountains of Ella, excellent hosts who will are extremely accommodating, lovely characteristic room, tasty and daily varying breakfast with a mix of local and continental items + fruit

Great views. The staff were amazing and so kind. The breakfast was delicious and huge, great to have a proper Sri Lankan breakfast.
There should be a warning on the page that it’s up a very steep hill and driveway, our driver had trouble turning around and getting tuk tuks back from the town. If you have a large suitcase good luck and you need to cross over a little footbridge and railroad and steep little steps.

No AC + also the walk from the town is down the railway with no lighting at night time so may not be suitable for some solo travellers

A gorgeous view from this rustic little spot. Staff would arrange tuktuks and were always available in person or by WhatsApp. Breakfasts were tasty. The location is a bit outside of the main town however that's a positive since it can be noisy and full of diesel fumes. It's a pleasant 10-minute walk along the train tracks into town. Or you could the other way for a lovely hike to Ella Rock.
It's no frills and there's no air conditioning but Ella was relatively cool in the evenings. If you opened the windows, mosquitoes would come in at night so be sure to use the mosquito net over the bed. Water pressure and temperature in the shower were strong and hot however it does spray everywhere in the washroom (not separately enclosed) so be mindful of your things getting wet.
