It was barely acceptable...I should have complained about the smell

The location is good in general. Its a beautiful old house with the bare minimum facilities. The host is friendly, respectful and nice. The room was not ready on arrival though. When I entered the room, I noticed a terrible smell of pee, which was truly bad. To be honest and fair, I did not tell the host and endured the smell overnight. I forgot my phone charger and received a message from the host saying that it would be sent to my address, which I thought it was nice. The charger has not arrived though, and its been at least 2 weeks. It was my fault to have forgotten it, I know. If i ever return there, Ill make sure to make a note about the cleanliness of the room.

We would stay here again.

Excellent location on a pretty, quiet street near some good restaurants and transit. The friendly host provided a great breakfast and was flexible about the timing. When she saw my husband uses a cane, she changed our room to the ground floor. She also chatted to us about places we might like to visit or eat at.

The only thing we didn't care for was that our (sole use) bathroom was across the hall, but that's because the host was helping my husband avoid the stairs. And there were no other bedrooms on the ground floor.

Very good experience overall.

Very good breakfast with tea or coffee (+refills) to set us up for the day. The breakfast room is lovely and the furnishings make you feel comfortable. The host was very congenial and helpful. En Suite is well located for going into the centre of the city and for visiting the coast which is only a short journey away by tram. There is a good range of local restaurants. We ate at Bowie which just up the street from En Suite and found it superb.

The host was lovely, nice location.

Very narrow, steep stairs, only for the fit and able mountain goats. I couldn't get upstairs with my dog and had to sleep in my car overnight. My niece stayed in the hotel, it's called ensuite, but isn't actually ensuite, the loo is across the hall and so small your knees touch the door when sitting down. Advertises free Wifi, but no details in room to allow you to use it. Advertises Bed and breakfast but didn't realise breakfast has to be booked the day before and is extra. There is also a resident cat and dog in the property so not suitable if your own dog doesn't like cats.

Were late on the way, arrived 1 hour later than check-in. There were no keys in the key box, the administration did not answer the phone number. They could not check into the room. My child and I had to spend the night in the car. I was very disappointed with the customer service.

Shower room is bit worn out & needs reparations. washing basin is blocked & i could hardly finish brushing my tooth. Shower handle is broken & water 🚿 leaks at the joint. There’s water leaks out on the floor (catastrophe) every time after shower. As it’s an old building , if u are sensitive to noise when sleeping , not recommended as I heard the noise of the upper floor walking & people take the stairs late night or early in the morning

We had a memorable stay at the place. The host was incredibly kind. The breakfast served by the host was outstanding and left us satisfied each morning. The location was good, offering convenience and easy access to transportation system. Moreover, the house and room were clean, creating a pleasant and nice environment throughout our stay.

Very nice stay in a quiet area.

Location was excellent for our needs, price was very good for last minute booking. Room was clean, bed was comfy. Very quiet room, No trouble sleeping. We had the 2nd floor room with the toilet outside the room just outside the room door across the way and the shower and the sink are in the room.

I am very allergic to cats, there was no indication that there would be cats there. The room was cat free, but the breakfast room triggered my allergies. Also, while I like sleeping in a cold room, my girlfriend felt the whole house was kept too cold at 65 F (18 C). Heat is expensive, I get it, but it was chilly at breakfast for her.

This location is easy to get to via tram., we walked a lot and enjoyed exploring the shopping area and good cafes. The hotel is an old character building which gives a homely feel rather than that of a slick modern hotel. The deco is nice , the bed very comfy and the hostess with her warm, friendly welcome added to the positive experience. We also thoroughly enjoyed the presence of the pets,longing about in the living area.

Very comfortable rooms in private house

Mirjam was very kind and helpful. She helped me up the steep stairs with my awkward bags, let me leave them on checkout morning while I went out to visit friends and called an excellent taxi for me. Tea and coffee making facilities are on the ground level in a lovely room where breakfast is also served (which I didn't have). The bedroom was very comfortable with an excellent shower and wonderful bed. No street noise when the windows are closed and good curtains. The room's private toilet is just opposite.

Probably not an ideal place to stay if you have bad legs because the stairs are very steep and winding.
