Great place to stay

Nice new room, views to coast, quiet - no sound of mental mopeds disturbing the peace. Swimming pool was a must. Staff were super helpful

Bit of an uphill hike from the main drag, but the hotel has its’ own free pickup and drop off, and otherwise, we hired a moped from the hotel.

Disappointing

The location is good, up the hill, which means the view is nice and it’s quiet. The room was spacious and we had a private swimming pool.

The hotel is not well maintained. And the construction has been sloppy to begin with. There were stains everywhere and cleaning service was inconsistent and sloppy too. Like our bedsheets had huge black stains one day after cleaning. There was rust on the pool chairs and cushions super dirty. Breakfast absolutely horrible so after the first day we didn’t order anymore. The staff were friendly and accommodating though, so whatever we were missing and asked for, they provided promptly. But the standard and the condition of the place is not good enough for the price we paid for the pool villa.

Peaceful paradise! ☺️

We stayed in a pool villa and it did not disappoint. The villa was spacious, clean, private, and peaceful, with amazing views. The staff were incredibly helpful and friendly, and they even offered collection from the pier. Breakfast was lovely, and the activities available on the island, including bike hire, made it easy to get around. Overall, we found the price to be fair and very reasonable.

While this isn’t really about the property itself, it’s worth knowing that the location is up quite a steep hill. That said, we hired a bike and had no trouble getting up and down, so it wasn’t an issue for us

Perfect Stay!

The room was spacious, spotless and the private pool was stunning! We had wonderful views of the mountains and the staff couldn’t do enough for you, they brought breakfast to your room daily, organised trips and taxis and even gave us a free drink. The location was great, a little bit of a walk up a hill but this was no problem, you could walk into Sairee Beach in 10 minutes but you are also away from the noise of the centre. Great location to get to dive centres, restaurants, bars and cafes! They also picked us up from the pier as arranged in advance and also dropped us back off when it was time to leave, free of charge. If we were back in Koh Tao, we would definitely stay here again!

Clean renovated spacious complex in the middle of nature

Superb location. These apartments are in the middle of nature yet quite close to koh tao old town. The host is lovely, they offer scooters to rent for 250b per day and you can also get some googles for snorkeling. Breakfast included - good but not great.

A lot of people mention the surroundings and that still the place is a bit under construction. This is true but we are also used to the standards of how things should look like in Europe for example.. come on it’s not big deal that there is some bricks around...

Recommended stay in Koh Tao

The room itself was lovely, nice and spacious, big comfy bed, huge balcony. We booked the room without a pool but I would splurge on this if it’s in your budget. The staff were lovely and helped us with all our questions, ordered us dinner, helped us book a ferry and provided transport. It was only a 10 minute walk to nearby restaurants or a 15 or so minute walk down to the beach.

Not a negative but as the name suggests it is up quite a hill away from the hustle and bustle, we didn’t mind though we got our steps in or you can rent a scooter.

• Staff: The staff were helpful and friendly. • Transportation: A free shuttle from the ferry was convenient. • Rental: Cheap scooter rental with no deposit required was a nice option. • Room: The room was spacious and comfortable. • Breakfast: The free breakfast was decent with some customizable options delivered to the room at a chosen time. • Laundry: The laundry service was reasonably priced and efficient.

Great value for money, beautiful villas

Beautiful huge rooms! And very good value for money. We had our own balcony off the roof which was very nice. The resort doesn’t have a pool (only the private suites with a private pool have) but there’s a pool 5 mins walk away at the resort nearby that you can use for free. The breakfast is simple and comes on a tray to your room (they give you a card to fill in and you can choose between eggs, bacon/ ham, salad, Thai food, fruit and drinks)

It was quite a steep walk back from sairee center (it’s only about a 10 minute walk but very steep). They do have a shuttle service that you can take from the hotel to the pier/ the sairee center but only at certain times.

Quiet and away from the crowd

Clean room and friendly staff.

You need a motorbike. Located on a steep hill with no lights so if you are walking be prepared to be surprised by lizards, frogs and dogs (and possibly more!) We had 2 power cuts due to the rain/wind and the generator was below our room so it was very loud and smelled of petrol.

A good stay

The path to the hotel was cool and adventurous and very green. That was nice. The staff was nice. Breakfast brought to your room was also very good.

It was very noisy. The room. You heard doors banging and the room next door very loudly. Also note that there is construction going on which includes noise sometimes. We had the feeling that the AC wasn’t working all the time.

The resort is in an excellent location - close to the beach and the main town. The rooms were stunning - very modern and spacious. The staff were also very lovely and helped us with any questions.

It was at the top of a hill so can be a bit tough without a motorbike but very manageable.

Great quiet spot only 5 mins away from the action on Sairee Beach. Staff is small but very customer focused. Had very good interactions with Naing. Great guy who will do what he can to assist you in every way.

Excellent stay- highly recommend!

We had to move our reservation because the ferries were cancelled. The hotel did this with no problem and were able to accommodate us for different dates. The staff were fabulous! The room was huge, clean, comfy bed and had a little kitchen area which was fantastic. The breakfast was good and delivered to our room every morning. What a gem of a hotel!

The property is a bit too far from the main beach. Also, the variety of possible breakfast options is not so big (only 4 types), plus it had to be ordered to specific time and in the evening before, which was always a bit uncomfortable.

we had a great stay at matina mountain! the staff was super welcoming & took great care of everything. the rooms are very spacious & everything is clean. the location is excellent (considering you drive a scooter) because you reach all the restaurants & bars within minutes but since it is in the dschungel it is quite & calm!

the breakfast isn’t the best but since it is for free we have no complaints!

Wonderful stay at this place with stunning view

The moderrn Room was very big and lots of light coming in from the glass doors. It´s situated uphill so you should have a scooter to drive around the island. It was also super quiet which I liked a lot and the bed is very comfy. The Owner and his staff are very friendly, he even gave me free pickup and dropped me off at the pier. The view is stunning and I had ocean view as well. I absolutley enjoyed my stay!

Breakfast was very simple and there could have been more decoration like plants on the terrace to make it more cozy. The bathroom is also very simple, would be nicer with more details in this price range. pillows on daybed outside were worn out. This was all not too bad but just adjustments I want to give.

The beds were sooo comfy and clean, great pool, amazing view, the room service is a thing! Breakfast quite nice, but boring, staff is super helpful and very communicative, they took us from the port to the apartment. The apartment and pool are bigger than the photos show, also the pool is deeper, what of course was an advantage

Breakfast is boring, only eggs, sausage/ham, toasts or rice soup, coffee was very bad, ants in the room, shower drain needs the plumber, the water was not going down :(
