For us, it was ideally located, very close to the center and all the attractions we wanted to visit, but far enough out of the hubbub that we ended every day in peace! This place was fantastic. About a 20-30 min walk to old town. A beautiful walk with shops and restaurants on the way. They are right near a bus stop too and Uber is cheap! Steigl brewery is about a seven to ten min walk and that tour was fun too. The owners of this place are fantastic! The cleanliness is out of this world. We almost cancelled so many times, because of the pictures, but so glad we did not! The place is way better than the pics. It is an apartment in a big beautiful house. They need to post better pics! Hire a professional, is my suggestion.

We stayed here for 11 nights for concerts and operas during the Salzburg Festival. Feeling like living in my house. Good neighborhoods. Just three bus stops from the Gorian strasse bus stop by No.22, we could reach the Karajan Platz, where the Salzburg Festival Grand Hall and others are located near. Alfons and his mother Marianna are great hosts. I highly recommend this place.

This was the perfect place for our family to stay during our vacation in Salzburg between Christmas and New Year. The apartment was spacious and clean, and had everything we needed to feel at home and comfortable. Alfons and Marianne were great hosts, super friendly and welcoming us at check-in giving us a tour. Marianne lives a floor above and is easy to reach when questions come up. The walk into the “Altstadt” is a comfortable 15-20 mins, which meant we left our rental car mostly parked in the driveway. Salzburg is beautiful and has lots of flair. Having this apartment as our home base for our stay made it that much more enjoyable! Highly recommend this place.

We enjoyed our five night stay in this apartment which is huge, comfortable and well equipped. We travel by public transport and were happy to discover that there are two grocery stores within a five minute walk, as well as a good bakery and an Indian resturant, which we enjoyed on two occasions.

This is a spacious two bed apartment which was perfect for the three of us. It is about a 30 min walk from the main attractions, but also very close to several bus routes which take you to the centre, the airport or out to Untersburg. The owner was very responsive and we would recommend this apartment.

Couldn’t have asked for a better place. The bed was nice. Comfy living room. Great kitchen with plenty of plates, cups, pans and anything else you might need to cook your own food. (Could have used a microwave a few times, but heating things on the stove isn’t really that hard). The lady who showed us the place was very kind and answered our questions. The place was very clean when we arrived, and had all the amenities we could have asked for. It’s tucked away in a quiet little neighborhood, but still close enough to to town that you can walk, and there’s a bus stop right on the nearest street that can take you right into the heart of the old city, or wherever else you might like to go. Highly recommended!

Marianne and Alfons were easy to work with. Their apartment is about a 25 minute walk to old town which my wife and I don't mind. Bus stations are very close (3-6 minutes) and connect you to everything. The apartment is in a quiet area and is spacious. For us it was perfect. The hosts were personable and helpful. Mark

The property was adorable and super clean and well taken care of. The language difference was a barrier when communicating with property manager. The check in and check out process was unclear and there was delayed response time when communicating through the Website. More instructions need to be given for checking in and out. The place and location was very acceptable and lovely.

This flat seems furnished like for an owner, not short stay renters. Very thoughtful details included like hooks in bathroom, a 3 tiered wagon with baskets for your toiletries, nightlights beside the bed, scissors in the kitchen, plenty of closet space, and many other things most units don’t have. This flat is up half a flight of stairs, and is the whole first floor of the house. It’s very spacious and comfortable. It’s a bit of a walk to the Old Town, but we walked it every day. It’s easily doable if you’re mobile. Otherwise the bus stop is a few blocks away. Mrs. Keil was warmly welcoming and helpful. We didn’t meet Mr. Keil. Apparently he looks after the Internet and correspondence aspect of the business. He was out of town when I wrote asking for details, and I didn’t receive a reply, but it all went well. They live in the same house one floor up. We speak German so we could communicate, but I don’t think they speak English. If you can manage to communicate it’s a place I’d highly recommend.

I am a clean freak and this property is very clean. The property is very spacious for the both of us. The master bedroom is big and has very comfortable bed and bedding. Each bedroom has big cabinet for storage. The living room is big and bright and has access to the patio. The kitchen is spacious and very clean. All appliances look very new. Kitchenware, dinnerware, utensils are all very clean. There are complimentary beers and water bottle in the refrigerator. House sandals are also provided. The bathroom is spacious and clean, lots of room to put our toiletries. I like how the commode is in a separate room than the bathroom. The towels are very soft and clean. The owners put a lot of thought into designing this property, it doesn't feel like a rental at all, it feels like home. Everything is spacious, clean and functional. Internet is fast. The owners live upstairs, they are elder couple and they don't speak much english but they are very friendly, kind and helpful if we ever need anything. The property is very close to the bus stop and BILLA grocery, about 5 min walking. There are two buses that will take you to city center, about 15 min bus ride to the center. The bus runs frequently. We always enjoy our bus ride, it passes by the suburb which are still covered with trees and greens. On one of the road you can even see HohenSalzburg fortress on the hill with green field below it. In all we had a wonderful experience, I will definitely stay here again if I go back to Salzburg.

We celebrated our 25th wedding anniversary with a trip to Salzburg. The photos are accurate but in person even better. Spotlessly clean, great mattress and bedding, good water pressure for showers and wi-fi worked fine. I would rate this apartment and the owners, Marianne and Alfons a 10 star experience. Can walk or easily get tram to the city, lovely residential neighborhood. From initial contact thru our departure it was absolutely wonderful. ! Danke!!

Lovely apartment in a quiet residential location just outside the city centre. Walk to centre about 15-20mins but regular buses available just round the corner. Very comfortable well maintained apartment with more space than we required with only 2 of us. Everything we needed in the kitchen to cook and our lovely hosts not only left a chocolate on our pillow but a couple of beers and water in the fridge as well.

It was a great pleasure to stay in this apartment. The apartment is very spacious, clean, and comfortable, exactly like the photos. The kitchen is fully equipped. The apartment located in a very quiet area but pretty close to city center. Everything is in walking distance. Lots of cafes and supermarket nearby. Check in for this apartment was perfect. Our plane arrived early and our hosts arranged for an early check in and were waiting for us when we arrived. Marianne and Alfons were very friendly and helpful. All in all, so glad we visited Salzburg and couldn't have wished for a better place to stay. We can’t recommend this apartment highly enough. Marianne and Alfons made us feel like part of their family. They live in the same building and are easily accessible if you have any questions. We were greeted with candy at our bedside and two local beers (from the brewery down the street) and bottled water in the refrigerator. There was extensive information on places to shop and eat, the bus routes, along with information on Salzburg. The house looks like it is new and everything you need for an extended stay is there. The kitchen has the necessary dishware, cookware, utensils, and silverware so you can eat in if you choose. It was truly as presented, and sparkling clean. There is both a shower and bathtub which we seldom found on our 5 week trip in Austria. The public transportation is simply a few blocks away. There are two grocery stores within walking distance, and several cafes, including a restaurant for vegetarians. Alfons kindly waited with us at the gate for our departing taxi. Although the couple spoke little English, we found it to be no hindrance to our visit and new friendship. I highly recommend this quiet, inexpensive, and comfortable rental from this kind couple.

We stayed in the Keil's apartment for just over two weeks through Christmas and New Year and it was just perfect. The Keil's are a lovely couple and they made us feel very welcome. The apartment is very spacious and is so clean (it's even cleaner than my mother's house!) - it felt like a home away from home for us. There were children's games and puzzles in our son's room which were a welcome site for him. Our lack of Deutsche and their lack of English was not a problem, nothing a bit of google translate couldn't help with. Prior to our arrival we communicated via email without any problem. The apartment is in a quiet, safe neighbourhood, walking distance to shops, park and the bus-stops, which we used most days. We could park our car right in front of the house, which was a huge bonus. The kitchen is a good size and has just about everything you need - we prepared many meals there, including Christmas lunch. The bathroom, again so clean it looked brand new, has a full size bath and lovely shower. We had been travelling for months, so such quality was greatly appreciated. We 100% recommend this apartment to anyone wanting to visit Salzburg, but who prefer to stay out of the frantic city centre. Everything was perfect.

This apartment is a real gem. It is spotlessly clean and has everything you could wish for. The owners are lovely too. It's very easy to either walk or get the bus to the centre, also there are plenty of local shops to do your grocery shopping. And, if you like beer, it is just down the road from the Stiegl brewery, which is the oldest privately-owned brewery in Austria - and the beer is delicious! I'm looking forward to a return visit!

Quiet, spacious, near the Altstadt

We found the listing pretty accurate, although the listed DVD player was nowhere to be seen. The apartment is all of the bottom floor of a detached house in the suburb of Maxglan, an area historically known for its farms. There are still some lovely houses in the neighbourhood and the local High Street is busy enough to run to two supermarkets. The only noise was the occasional plane (after all, it's only 10 minutes to the airport on the trolley bus) and the owners moving around upstairs, again only occasionally. The mattresses were comfortable, the pillows hopeless (as they often are in Europe) so we ended up replacing them with cushions. It was nice to have underfloor heating in the bathroom and to be able to choose between a bath and a (good) shower. The kitchen was exceptionally well equipped, with everything you need to prepare a meal from scratch. It even had enough mugs to last us the day, important for us tea-drinkers! The owners were delightful, although they spoke hardly any English so I had to wheel out my schoolgirl German, which was often not up to the task. In Salzburg itself we very much enjoyed both the hike over the Kapuzinerberg and the one over Monchsberg to the Fortress and the Nonnberg convent. Both gave terrific views of the city, its compactness and the extraordinary number of churches. On Christmas Day we went to a lovely concert at the Mozarteum,with terrific acoustics. We also did day trips to Hallein (nice old town with a stunning newly renovated museum of local Celtic art) and to St Gilgen on the Wolfgang Lake, where we enjoyed a fishy lunch overlooking the water and walked some of the riverside path to get the late afternoon light on the surrounding mountains. As for eating, we enjoyed dinner at the Riederburg Restaurant and lunch at the Strasserwirt, both local restaurants tending more towards fine dining than out-and-out traditional, but using local produce and recipes.
