Built in 1540, but modern bathroom and sleeping area. Excellent owner/ host. Amazing view (both day and night) of the Hohensalzburg castle. On a narrow cobblestone street. Felt like “old Europe). Being a historic building- no air conditioning or elevator. But if you don’t mind taking a few stairs and sleeping with open windows it is worth it!

This property was amazing! My daughter and i walked everywhere, including to and from the train station. It felt very safe at all times. The best part was the beautiful roof top deck with the most incredible view. It is a charming building, yes, there are steep stairs to get to the rooms, as mentioned. We loved our stay there.

The hotel was so beautiful, so charming. I loved how unique and clean it was. The location was close to shopping and restaurants and the neighborhood was nice. I would highly recommend the APT Stone Lodge for anyone who wants a unique and beautiful place to stay.

Fascinating historic building and street and great location for walking to the old city, Mirabelle Palace, restaurants, and nature trails. We loved the view of the fortress from the rooftop terrace. Note that there are shared washing machines but no dryer. There is a large drying rack. We loved the touches of stone peeking out throughout the building. Quiet street given how handy it is to everything.

This apartment is so cool. Loved the design, exposed beams, mountain side bathroom wall and the location. We felt like we were residents. Perfectly set up for cooking if you want. The location is just a few blocks walk from a very central thriving area as well as the bridge over to the old town center. The only negative (only slight) was we heard a lot of foot steps above us off and on, but never long enough to bother too much. I did fail to read the part about the stairs. It is three flights (no lift) and the steps increase in steepness each flight. We got used to it, but just beware.

We had the superior room aka Rock Star room. 3 bedrooms. 1 bath, full kitchen and a dining room. It would have been nicer if the room by the kitchen had a door for privacy. No elevator, which was disclosed. I will not recommend it if you have mobility issues, as the stairs are quite steep and narrow. There’s a restaurant next door, but they couldn’t accommodate us since we didn’t have reservations. It’s definitely in a central location, but every store and restaurants are closed by 1800. So plan ahead.

I loved the apartment with the beautiful interior and the view of Salzburg castle. It's tough to get a heavy suitcase up the steep stairs to the apartment but it was well worth it. The apartment was amazing, the shower and bathroom with the stone wall! Kitchen had microwave and coffee machine and was well equipped. Short walk to Salzburg's old city center.

Amazing apartment with beautiful views of Salzburg and everything you need. Lovely and clean and a great location. The only down side was no air conditioning but we did choose to come in the height of summer! Would definitely recommend.

Really nice place with great views of the castle + walking distance to the downtown area. Important to follow the directions carefully on how to get there + where to park. The directions are very well written. The place is small but cozy. Clean. It is low ceiling (for tall people) and the steps leading up to the top of the apartment are narrow and steep. It’s not for anyone that has a health condition. There’s not an elevator that can be used. It’s also not ideal for large families as it is small. The door codes to get in + out are very convenient. Ideal place for a young couple that wants to spend a weekend in Salzburg.

Lovely, charming and very modern room in a very old building. Best part is that it is within walkig distance of the historical old town where all the interesting sites are. The owners put a lot of love and thought into the property.

Unique boutique hotel built into the side of a mountain. Loved the quirky style. The description of the hotel is accurate...the stairs are steep and the ceilings low, but that added to the charm. The rooms are very modern, but there was some water seepage we think from the rain through the rocks (mountain) which comprised the back wall of the Green Room we were in. That was very minor. The restaurants next door are worth visiting. Great food and atmosphere.

Lovely, quirky hotel with just a few rooms in an historic area of Salzburg close to restaurants, shops & tourist attractions. Unfortunately there is no a/c (though a fan is supplied) but it was so hot in the room we needed to open the windows every night. As there is a restaurant next door there is also quite a lot of noise but they don’t stay open late! Comfortable bed, small tv though probably due to the hotel being against the side of the hill the reception is extremely poor. We had difficulties with the wifi (perhaps also location) but a message to the owner was quickly responded to! All in all, a nice stay but probably a bit overpriced considering we still had to pay a cleaning fee on leaving.

Great stay in a place on one of the oldest and cutest streets in Salzburg. Very comfortable beds and super clean with very accessible and friendly property manager. To note, spiral staircases and if you have large pieces of luggage it is a little bit more challenging to get them to your room.

What a great place. Built into the mountain. Very updated and clean. Our apt had a view of the fortress. Arriving in Salzburg and walking to our room on cobblestones was what I think old Europe is. Very close to the river to walk across to.

Great location. The room was exactly as advertised. It is nice to arrive and find the room looks as you had expected. The owner provided clear instructions and so getting settled in was a breeze. The roof patio was cute, but there was a large group of people staying in the bigger apartment upstairs and they monopolized the space making it a bit too crowded for enjoyment. All in all, a great find! I would recommend.

Room was lovely. Very clean and modern. It was great to have kitchen facilities and a decent sized fridge. Stairs were steep but that didn't bother us. Lovely part of town to stay with a pub a few doors down that had great food. The roof top terrace with views of the mountains and fortress is great.

Very good overall. Challenge for me only. May not be problem for other customers. Firstly, had to climb stairs. Due to my knee problems, it was a real challenge needing to climb the stairs every day. The need to climb stairs should be clearly spelt out on the Expedia web site. I only was told so late that i could not find alternative. Secondly, no one on site to resolve problem also caused headache. For some reasons, my phone had problems, not able to make phone calls, not able to get wifi. It really was a HUGE problem for me as it was my first visit to Salzburg.
