APT - Stone Lodge Salzburg

We had the three bedroom apartment. It was on the 4th floor but well worth the hike up. Very spacious and one of the most unique places we stayed at. The view out our windows of the city and the fortress were amazing. You were in walking distance of almost everything. Very memorable stay.

Great place, close to town.

We had everything that we could need or want. The neighborhood was quiet. The room was well proportioned, spotlessly clean.

This place was certainly unique. The stairs are not for the weak, especially if you have luggage. However, the room is worth it! The building literally attaches to the rock hill. The back wall is bare rock. Our room ("Green") backed up to the rock wall. Accommodations were better than the 4-star hotel we went to at our next stop. Coffee/tea maker with plenty extra coffee pods and tea. Dishware, cups glasses, and utensils. Free standing A/C unit kept us comfortable. The building is centuries old, and the wooden beams added to the overall ambiance. The apartment was remodeled with a large and modern bathroom. The kitchen counterand cabinets were new and functional. Dishwasher, toaster, and microwave. The bed was very comfortable with nice comforters. Check out the view from the roof terrace! Stone LODGE is in walking distance to bakeries and places to eat. Maier's is next door. It's dinner only and reservations are encouraged. It is pricey but it was the best steak I've had in years. They have authentic German/ Austrian cuisine. It's a small restaurant that is 5 stars in my opinion. Every dish was delicious including the freshly baked bread. Maier's is a hidden jewel. Next door is another restaurant that I also recommend. (I don't remember the name) The food and service were great. Note: If you arrive by train, make sure you get on a bus heading South (Sud), toward The Stone Lodge. The Sbg Verkehr App is necessary to navigate the bus system.
