There was a lot of noise from the room next door and upstairs

Good value for money, location was okay. Good for a one night stay in the city.
A few broken utilities and in one of the rooms the door didnt open fully in the bathroom and would get stuck to the sink. In another room the toilet lid was broken there was a hole in the wall from the door handle.

Reasonably priced room, walking distance from the railway station. I had a good night's sleep in a comfy bed. It was all good. Clean and tidy, this was a good choice, especially for the price.
It was a shame there was no chair at the desk in my room. Because there are no staff on site, I was a bit concerned it might be noisy but it was totally fine.

Great location, clean, very comfy beds! We would both stay there again
Unfortunately there were some very loud guests staying in the room above who kept us awake, but that could happen anywhere

Kitchen was good. Room was good although we were unable to get local television but Netflix was available.
The keypad didn’t work. As I was unable to get in contact with the owner and it was getting dark, we were fortunate to have a young man staying in the building who contacted the owner. The young man couldn’t open the door from inside either. A locksmith came and fixed the problem.

Botley Townhouse is a well situated, cleverly converted terrace house into en-suite bedrooms with a communal well-appointed kitchen. The rooms are small but very comfortable and suitable for solo guests or couples.
The rooms are not sound proof so one is aware of the other guests, particularly if they come in late at night and have loud voices.

Our room at Botley Townhouse was spacious and clean, with generous wardrobe space. The ensuite showerroom was private, light and modern. The beds and bedding were very comfortable and the delightful decor - with throws, cushions and lamps - made us feel at home straightaway. The entry code system worked well. In the communal kitchen we sat at the kitchen bar lingering over early morning coffee and breakfast chatting to a charming fellow guest. Great location: short walk from Seacourt park and ride, overnight layby outside the Botley Townhouse, a lovely Deli open early til late just two doors down - and a reasonable quiet walk into the town centre too. Arriving on a dark and wet night, the warmth and comfort of Botley Townhouse was exceedingly welcome.

Clean, spacious room with good sized towels. House nice and warm. Short walk to city centre. Parking short distance away at Seacourt park & ride (free as im disabled).
Walls quite thin and creaky floor boards made it a little noisy at times.

Daily cleaning of the room was a pleasant surprise.
Reliable hot water ( which is not case in other gurst houses/colleges)
Slightly away from the center

Prize and access to kitchen.
Not so comfy bed. It consisted of two matrases and thus there was a hole in between. So it was difficult to co-sleep.

Convenient to check in and out and very responsive messages from the host. Location was walkable from the city centre. Just needed a bed for the night and this was comfortable
The room smelled of damp and hadn’t been cleaned properly - there were food items and clothes in the dresser drawers (presumably from a previous guest)

what we saw of the property we didn't like. Outside of the property looked scruffy, with a broken gas-meter cover, weeds and rubbish in the front yard.
We could not get in to the property. No-one answered our phone call or emails. No response to asking for our money to be returned.

Location was very convenient
The house was very run down and not well maintained on the outside. Very basic

It was the only place I could find to accommodate a family of 5 under $350 a night. It might have been because it was graduation weekend though.
It was pretty far from town, the road is closed so you can’t take a bus to town. The room was clean enough, but the property felt a little sketchy.

Only hand towels provided

Good location and simple check-in
Carpet hadn't been cleaned in a long time
Broken (exposed) power socket
Broken extractor fan

Good kitchen facilities.
Bathroom door didn't open fully as it caught on the sink which made accessing the one mirror in the room difficult. The door also got stuck a few times. Only one towel provided - no hand towel or bath mat. Body wash dispenser in the shower was empty. Very warm room with no fan provided.

After I had checked into my room, a random man entered my room. The rooms are accessible via entering a code on the door and he had also been given the code to my room. As a solo female traveler, pretty much nightmare fuel. Needless to say I left after this. Trying to get my money back from the owners but they’re dragging their feet and no apology whatsoever!

Sheets were clean and bed was comfortable. Wifi worked fine.
Water glasses had not been changed and had residue from a drink of a previous occupant
Black mould in places in the bathroom
Frayed carpet between bedroom and bathroom
Brown spattering on plug and base of electric fan
Soap dispenser almost empty in shower

Convenient, spacious, clean
We were unable to close the back door as it had been broken by an earlier guest according to the agent (?)
No table and chairs in the kitchen or anywhere to sit down in communal areas with the exception of two bar stools at a breakfast bar.
No reply to email.
Electrical box at front of house showing meter/circuits was unsightly

Jess was fantastic & accommodating & helped us to upgrade our room to a lovely garden view room. Facilities were great. Close to the centre. Great value & service, highly recommended.

This place was so filthy, unhygienic and foul that I have reported it to Booking.com with photographic evidence.
The place was desperate for a vacuum and a spray, our bathroom was disgusting. We were provided with a dirty, squashed roll of toilet paper with the outside layers shredded. We found a spider in our bed. The bottom of the shower was broken and mould along the silicone in the bathroom. The skirting boards were about to fall off and the carpet was torn.
The window was dirty with a massive bird poo covering ‘the view’ - which btw was street level with no protective film. Our curtains remained closed the entire time as we feared someone would peer in.
To make matters worse, the walls are paper thin. We were woken up by people entering the house multiple times throughout the night as the front door is difficult to open and closes loudly. Each time we felt the walls shake. That’s fine, our fault for booking somewhere with other guests. However, waking up to the sound of someone projectile vomiting was horrific.
The room we were given is not even pictured in the photos, the bathroom was so tiny we struggled to get into the shower. The soap provided was empty.

It would be better if there were staff on site

Room was ok - reasonably comfortable
I understood there was a kitchen and I hadn't realised it was communal!! There was no kettle in the room.
The building is right on a main road as was therefore very noisy.
Also there is no sound insulation between rooms and we could hear the person in the room above us moving around very loudly due to the creaky floorboards.
Park and ride car park is at least 15 mins walk away and is payable not free as we expected.

The property is very reminiscent of a student flat, with carpeted bedroom, and a 20+ years old bathroom (with substantial black mould under the soap dispenser and on the shower head). There is a shared kitchen, with free coffee machine and capsules, loads of cutlery, and a fridge. It was fairly clean, the towels smelled as if they just came out of a tumble dryer, but not the freshest, or softest.
There is a TV with access to Netflix etc, but the bed itself was not very comfortable. Location is great, just 10 minute walk away from the train station, which itself is a short walk away from all of the good Oxford attractions.

The room has not have 45m2 as booked- it was about 17m2. There was only one set of towels for two people. This room been much different- different standard then was presented on the photos. Busy and noisy road. Thanks for tricky adventure and tricky advertise.

Relatively close ( 10 minute walk) to the railway station.
Far far far too much noise. I asked for a quiet room but was given Room 3 next to the kitchen facilities. I was woke up by people making a lot of noise who started cooking at midnight and did not finishuntil 1.30 AM. This place is basically a low budget boarding house with some longer term residents who have no regard for overnight guests. The management are not resident at the property so the 'guest guidelines' issued are effectively rendered worthless. Much better to simply pay a bit more and avoid this place.

Botley Townhouse seems to be quite a new and refurbished place. It is very clean and welcoming as you enter and the room was brilliant. It has everything you need. The shared kitchen is delightful and provides a place for the occasional conversation. I was able to lock my bicycle in the garden which was very secure. The location is very convenient in terms of Oxford city centre. Everting about this accommodation is excellent. The entry codes worked well.

The room was clean, and very well located on the ground floor for my personal needs. The bed was super comfortable. The room was very warm, even during the coldest days so far this winter. The manager.was super dedicated to resolve any issues and always looking forward to make.me.feel comfortable in my room. WiFi fair good.
Unfortunately, the shower has an issue and the temperature of the water couldn't be adjusted... It was permanently extremely hot. A misunderstanding during my service call to fix the problem, delayed the repair, and it couldn't be fixed during my stay. For the rest, it a place that I recommend. My issue was something unexpected and unlikely to be prevented. I don't blame the Guesthouse at all.
