The bedroom needed paintwork touching up,was clean; as was the bathroom. Towels & bedding were spotless, shower was very good. But there was no mirror or kettle in the bedroom. BUT there was zero kerb appeal, no door on the meter cupboard, frontage full of weeds and missing bricks. Hallway was dirty and smelly. Kitchen was passable but no instructions for cooker or microwave and no bottle opener. Garden was a tip full of weeds, dumped furniture, paint trays.

We were very disappointed from the moment we arrived. The meter cupboard door was missing, there were weeds growing on the front and step with bricks missing. The hall way floor was dirty and smelled. The stairs were very steep and narrow with paintwork missing. The room itself was clean, as was the bedding. Although there was paint missing from one wall, there was no where to hang clothes as the rail was broken. The bathroom was clean and the shower was great. But there is no obscured glass in the bathroom window (which we think is probably illegal). We had expected a kettle in the room. We used the kitchen once - it was reasonably clean in the surface but when we moved the toaster there was a big pile of breadcrumbs where it hadn’t been emptied. The oven was ok but without instructions it was difficult to use. The microwave was actually some sort of combination oven/microwave and again no instructions. The kitchen was reasonably well equipped but there was no bottle opener. We decided to eat outside but the garden area is an absolute disgrace with an old armchair, paint trays and paint rollers dumped. It felt as if it had been loved once but just uncared for for some considerable time. We thought it was little more than a flop house and very poor value for money. I could still smell the stale air on my hair and clothes when I got home.

The overall cleanliness was unacceptable. The room had a broken hanging rail, making it impossible to hang anything. The walls were damaged and marked, and there were hairs on the bed sheet and bathroom floor. The heating was either off or barely noticeable during the subzero nights (8-9 January). Additionally, the bins in both the bathroom and living room were rusted. I didn't meet/come across the staff so I can't rate their helpfulness (hence neutral 3 in scores). I was very disappointed.

Basic, basic, basic. Absolutely no love or attention to detail. Broken clothes rail. No tv remote. The host did provide one for the second night. No bedside lamps and the bulb above the bed was broken . Very noisy as this is a converted house. Had to listen to the peop

The bed was firm and fine. Linens were good. Nice to have windows that can open. Shower was quite good. There's a grocery store across the street which helps for meals, and the laundrette is next door which is quite convenient. There isn't much else around, so if you are on foot, you do have to walk into city center for restaurants, etc. The stairs up to the 2nd floor are narrow and have a twist at the top, which made hauling luggage up a challenge. I wish I'd known the bridge between the train station and the VRBO is under repair. (Has been for a year) As a result my taxi had to take a very long diversion to get there. What should have been a quick ride turned into a more expensive one. Also, as a woman traveling alone, I don't think I'd stay here again. This isn't the fault of the property owner, it's just the nature of the design. You're really at the mercy of whoever else is in the other rooms. The first night was fine, but later in my stay there people were up past 2 in the morning, banging on doors, smoking indoors even though the sign says they shouldn't. You really don't have much recourse.

Not much to look at from the outside but you open the front door to reveal a clean, bright property with good facilities in a handy location for the center of Oxford.

We stayed for the bank holiday weekend in august. The bed was a little hard (can’t mark down here as my bed is very soft! Not the house’s fault!!) was a nice stroll into the town. Note this is a house and not a B&B. All facilities were extremely clean. The communal kitchen is large and well equipped. Place was very clean and tidy.
