Location is great, with bus stops at your doorstep. It is also in the bustling street of Summertown. I appreciated the access to the kitchen (linked to having microwaveables in student-priced groceries nearby), and the spacious room given to me. I also like the generous time for check in and check out. (There isn't a 24hour reception, but it is easy to communicate with the family owners.) The staircase takes a bit of work, but they kindly offer you help with your luggage if you need it.

The hotel is a little bit down at heel but it is clean, comfortable and friendly. It's more like staying in someone's house. There is a little bit of parking at the front, the staff are chilled out and it is in an amazing area.
For what it is, I liked all of it.

The owners were very friendly and helpful. They also upgraded my room from a single to a double at no extra charge. Bed was comfy and bedding was spotlessly clean. Check in was available from 11am which was very handy.
The decor was tired looking and could do with refreshing. There was a big step up to get into the shower.

The location was very convenient. The beds were very comfortable, and the staff were kind enough to give us two fans to try and deal with the heat during the unprecedented heatwave.
The facilities were falling apart, the door kept getting stuck and the temperature of water that came out of the shower had nothing to do with whatever we had done to the dial. The family room was also really hot, being on the top floor, but that wasn't something the owner could really control in the middle of an unprecedented heatwave (and they did at least give us several fans to try and help with the heat).
