Elia Kalamaki Hotel

The biggest plus of this hotel is a friendly staff, especially the lady who is preparing breakfast, she’s cooking everything by herself, everything is good and she’s super nice! The view from the terrace on top of the building is very nice as well (even though furniture available to sit outside was stained). Location is not bad, very close to Chania, with a grocery store in front of the hotel and few restaurants around. Proximity to Agi Apostoli beaches also made it possible and enjoyable to stay in the area.

In general this hotel was not fully what we expected. Starting from quite stressful parking, because the parking lot is too small to fit all the guests so sometimes you have to look for a space on the street (which is not very accepted in this area and not uncommon that police takes away your license plate so be careful). Swimming pool was dirty for the whole 8 days of our stay and none of the hotel guests was actually using it during this whole time. I’ve read that it was already like this in opinions from April but I was expecting the problem to be fixed by May. It wasn’t so this element was completely excluded from our holidays (but most likely included in the price). The room looks nice at first sight, but then the details appear. Our wardrobe provided 4 hangers for two people, so we had to ask for more (which initially were unavailable for some time), I find it quite important to have more than 2 hangers per person in the hotel where you spend your holidays and maybe you want to wear shirts or dresses. Eventually they brought us like +4 of them but anyway we bought our own to have enough. When later we asked for the iron, it came without ironing board because it was also unavailable. For me it was inconvenient to iron my clothes on the bed (that’s what they told me to do), because some shapes require a board, like mentioned summer shirts or dresses. The bed was ultra soft. There was no double bed as well, just two beds put together, which is not very comfy for a couple. The room was cleaned everyday but without all of the details, as I mentioned before, terrace furniture was stained, pipes in the toilet dusty. When we’ve finished shower gel, we had to call and ask for a refill, because it wasn’t checked. After showers the floor was flooded each time, so there were some holes in the shower most likely.

The fridge could be a bit larger and the wifi more stable.

Beds are very good, very good breakfast.

Location is not good. Very far from town and restaurant. If I need it anything , we have to drive. It was very noisy there neighbours around the hotel. Pool was very small,not look like the photos. Abit disappointed stayed there.
